Abstract

This study examines the effects of price discounts and free shipping on the purchase intention of Generation Z consumers using TikTok Shop in Indonesia. It also compares the relative effectiveness of these two promotional strategies in stimulating purchase intention within a social commerce environment. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed. Data were collected through an online questionnaire administered to Generation Z TikTok Shop users selected using purposive sampling. The research model was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with RStudio. The measurement model was evaluated through validity and reliability tests, while the structural model was assessed using path coefficients, bootstrapping, effect sizes, and comparative analysis. The results reveal that both price discounts and free shipping have positive and significant effects on purchase intention. However, free shipping demonstrates a stronger influence than price discounts, indicating that eliminating shipping costs is more effective in reducing consumers’ psychological barriers during the purchasing process. The findings suggest that minimizing transaction friction is more influential than conventional price reductions in encouraging purchase intention among Generation Z consumers. This study extends the social commerce literature by directly comparing the effectiveness of price discounts and free shipping within a single analytical model.

Abstract

Commodity markets in major production regions are characterized by price volatility arising from perishability, seasonal production, and distribution constraints. While agricultural price volatility has been widely examined at the national level, evidence on regional differences across commodity groups remains limited. This study investigates the volatility dynamics of food and horticultural commodity prices across eight regions in East Java using daily price data from 2018 to 2024. Price series are transformed into logarithmic returns, and volatility is estimated using symmetric and asymmetric GARCH family models. The results reveal significant differences across both commodity groups and regions. Food commodities are consistently best represented by symmetric GARCH models, indicating that volatility is primarily driven by the magnitude of price shocks. In contrast, horticultural commodities are better explained by asymmetric GARCH models, demonstrating that both the magnitude and direction of shocks influence volatility. Horticultural commodities also exhibit greater sensitivity to new information and stronger volatility persistence than food commodities. Moreover, volatility dynamics differ substantially across regions, reflecting variations in production systems and market conditions. These findings highlight the importance of commodity specific and region-specific price stabilization policies to strengthen regional food market resilience

Abstract

Although the SERVQUAL framework remains a cornerstone for measuring perceived service quality, current research often treats operational service evaluation and strategic marketing management as separate domains. This study aims to bridge this conceptual gap by developing an integrated service marketing framework that unifies the five core dimensions of SERVQUAL with the 7P marketing mix. Adopting a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and thematic synthesis approach, this study analyzes foundational service marketing literature alongside contemporary empirical research on digital transformation, customer touchpoints, and service innovation. The thematic synthesis reveals that SERVQUAL and the 7P mix function as complementary, multi-level mechanisms. SERVQUAL serves as an operational diagnostic tool for measuring customer perceptions, whereas the 7P framework provides the organizational infrastructure needed to design and deliver service value. Furthermore, customer satisfaction acts as a strategic mediator connecting operational performance and marketing capabilities to organizational loyalty and competitiveness. Theoretically, this study unifies service quality evaluation theory and strategic marketing planning into a single conceptual model. Practically, it offers actionable guidance for managers to align operational indicators (reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence) with the 7P marketing mix elements to optimize customer experiences in the digital age. This article presents a fresh perspective by systematically integrating SERVQUAL and the 7P mix amidst the dynamics of digital transformation, advancing toward a truly integrated framework for service marketing innovation.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to ascertain how perceived price, trust, and service quality impact customer satisfaction regarding bus rapid transit (BRT) services. Multiple linear regression was utilized to analyze the data, which comprised latent variables. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires possessing verified validity and reliability. One hundred respondents were secured via a convenience sampling approach. Findings demonstrate a simultaneous effect of all independent variables on customer satisfaction. Individually, customer satisfaction is affected by perceived price and trust, whereas service quality exhibits no significant impact.

Abstract

Conducting a reliable feasibility study is crucial yet challenging before starting any real estate project. This study presents a detailed case of a comprehensive feasibility assessment for a medium-scale real estate development in the Greater Jakarta area. It integrates multiple analytical tools, including the Performance Prism framework to identify key performance indicators, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) alongside Pareto analysis to prioritize them. Financial viability was assessed through engineering economic calculations supported by Monte Carlo simulation. The base case simulation indicated a strong financial outlook, with a positive Net Present Value (NPV) and a healthy Internal Rate of Return (IRR). To test the project’s resilience, five additional scenarios were analyzed for sensitivity, exploring how variations in key assumptions might affect financial outcomes. This combined approach provides a thorough evaluation by incorporating both quantitative data and qualitative insights, ensuring a balanced and robust feasibility study for the real estate project.
