Abstract

Teacher professionalism is a key factor in improving the quality of education, but the mechanisms of its formation in the era of digital transformation are not yet fully understood, especially at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the influence of teaching experience on teacher professionalism with digital literacy as an intervening variable. The study used a quantitative explanatory approach with a cross-sectional survey design. The sample in this study involved 138 teachers. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a five-point Likert Scale and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The research findings indicate that: teaching experience influences digital literacy. Teaching experience has a positive and significant effect on teacher professionalism. Digital literacy influences teacher professionalism. Digital literacy is proven to mediate the effect of teaching experience on teacher professionalism. The findings of partial mediation indicate that teaching experience influences teacher professionalism through two channels: directly and indirectly through increased digital literacy. This study confirms that the development of teacher professionalism in the Independent Curriculum era is not sufficient to rely solely on accumulated work experience, but must be accompanied by structured and sustainable strengthening of digital literacy. The practical implications of this research encourage schools to synergistically integrate digital literacy improvement programs with teacher teaching experience development programs.

This problem can be addressed through participation in social rehabilitation programs, one of which is the therapeutic community (TC) approach. The implementation of the therapeutic community (TC) approach at the primary stage in Sentra Galih Pakuan is carried out through the utilization of the community structured activities, and the application of four structures in shaping behavioral changes among beneficiaries. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, documentation studies, and literature studies. The result of the study indicate that the community within the therapeutic community functions as a medium for behavioral development through social relationships and the active participation of beneficiaries in activities. The existence of various structured activities also becomes part of psychosocial therapy in providing social learning for beneficiaries. In addition, Sentra Galih Pakuan implements four structures that support the social rehabilitation process within the therapeutic community approach.

Abstract

This paper critically examines Jacques Rancière's rejection of Althusser's concept of interpretation in epistemological rupture, and explores its implications for character education at SMA St. Thomas 1 Medan. Rancière's critique stems from his rejection of hierarchical epistemological structures in the dichotomy between science and ideology. For Rancière, this approach constrains the division of social aesthetics of class outside of power as an ideological object, rather than as an autonomous political subject. By connecting this epistemological critique to the practice of character education, this paper argues that Rancière's principle of epistemic equality provides a theoretical foundation for building more inclusive and emancipatory learning environments. At SMA St. Thomas 1 Medan, character education that is grounded in critical reflection, autonomous thinking, and the equal recognition of all students as active moral agents aligns with Rancière's post-structural vision. The author uses a qualitative hermeneutic method to analyze primary works of Rancière and Althusser and relate them to current educational practice. Results affirm that the interpretation of Marxism must be grounded within social aesthetics, and that this framework offers a progressive, emancipatory model for character formation in secondary schools.

Abstract

The deteriorating practice of scientific elaboration in education is often associated with the increasing information overload in the digital social space. This condition not only impacts the quality of knowledge production but also weakens individuals' reflective capacity to interpret their roles and the educational ecosystem. In this context, educational actors tend to be mired in ambivalence, on the one hand as actors, but on the other as victims of malpractice, related information, and increasingly problematic educational political policies. Hence, the author conceived the research title "Political Betrayal of Education. Furthermore, excessive administrative pressure also reflects the intellectual space available for educators and students to elaborate on fundamental issues in education. Consequently, the orientation of education has shifted from strengthening critical reasoning to fulfilling procedural administrative indicators. This phenomenon is reflected in the rise in various forms of academic misconduct, including plagiarism, bribery in exams, grade-buying, cheating, sexual violence in educational settings, and the prevalence of practicums in scientific publications involving various academic levels, from students to professors. Furthermore, actions against criticism are often legitimized by authoritative institutions through various forms of intimidation, both symbolic and physical. This further emphasizes the dysfunction of education as a space for developing critical thinking. In this development, education has experienced a reduction in function, from its original role as a locomotive of knowledge-based social transformation. Now, it has become a commodified entity vulnerable to domination practices resembling intellectual thuggery. Based on this background, this research aims to deeply examine the empirical dynamics in educational practices and analyze their implications for national education policy. Furthermore, this research seeks to reconstruct the function of education as a "brahmana," namely, as an entity possessing moral and intellectual authority in establishing independent and sovereign social control mechanisms, both at the institutional level and in society at large.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the culture of showing off is displayed through the character of Bu Sumirah and how social status is negotiated through objects, language, and communication relations with the character Asih in the short film Pemean by Paniradya Kaistimewan. This study uses a qualitative approach. The main data are dialogues, character actions, object symbols, and the setting of the drying room in the film Pemean. The analysis is carried out by reading key scenes that display expensive clothes, branded batik, expensive coffee, and motorbikes as symbols of social status. Antonio Gramsci's theoretical framework is used to understand the hegemony of social status, while Jürgen Habermas's thoughts are used to read unequal communication in the relationships between characters. The results show that the culture of showing off in Pemean does not only appear as a personal trait of Bu Sumirah, but as a social phenomenon born from the pressure to appear capable, classy, and worthy of admiration. The items on display function as markers of prestige and a tool to build social distance with Asih. However, when the items are proven to be borrowed, Bu Sumirah's social image begins to collapse. The film ultimately critiques the culture of appearance that judges people based on possessions, the price of goods, and social recognition, while also showing the fragility of social status built on falsehood.

Abstract

Drug relapse remain one of the major challenges in rehabilitation services, including among peer counselors who are directly involved in assisting drug users during the recovery process. This study aims to analyze interpersonal factors influencing the vulnerability to relapse among peer counselors in drug rehabilitation services. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach conducted at Yayasan Grapiks. Data were collected through in-dept interviews, observation, and documentation involving peer counselors and supporting informants in rehabilitation services. The findings revealed that interpersonal factor significantly influence the vulnerability to relapse among peer counselors. Social support from family, colleagues, and the rehabilitation environment contributes positively to maintaining the recovery process. However, close interpersonal relationships with clients, exposure to active drug-use environment and the lack of professional supervision increase emotional pressure and vulnerability to relapse. In addition, limited institutional support causes peer counselors to face psychological burdens independently during the assistance process. Therefore, strengthening peer counselors’ capacity through psychosocial support, professional supervision, and reinforcement of professional boundaries is necessary to maintain recovery stability and improve the quality of rehabilitation service.

Abstract

The increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed academic writing by enabling students to generate ideas, improve language quality, and complete writing tasks more efficiently. However, excessive dependence on AI has raised concerns regarding ethical awareness and academic responsibility. This study aims to examine the ethical implications of AI overreliance in academic writing through a systematic literature review. Relevant studies published between 2023 and 2025 were selected and analyzed to identify key issues related to academic integrity, authorship, accountability, transparency, and responsible AI use. The findings indicate that AI overreliance may weaken students’ sense of ownership over their work, reduce critical evaluation of information, and create uncertainty regarding ethical writing practices. Furthermore, limited AI literacy and unclear institutional guidelines contribute to inappropriate AI use. The study concludes that ethical awareness plays a crucial role in ensuring responsible AI-assisted writing. Therefore, higher education institutions should promote ethical AI literacy and establish clear policies to maintain academic integrity.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ vocabulary mastery through the use of authentic materials in the form of poster advertisements. The research was conducted at class VII B of SMPN 1 Mataram in the academic year 2025/2026. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, each including planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stages. The subjects of the study were 44 students of class VII B. The instruments used in this research were vocabulary tests and observation checklists. Quantitative data were obtained from students’ pre-test and post-test scores, while qualitative data were collected through classroom observations focusing on teacher activities during the teaching and learning process. The findings showed a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery. In Cycle 1, the mean score increased from the pre-test to the post-test, reaching a mean score of 69.64, with only 17 students (38.6%) achieving scores above the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of 75. After revising the teaching material by integrating poster advertisements in Cycle 2, the mean score increased to 89.45, and 42 students (95.4%) achieved scores above the KKM. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the use of authentic materials, particularly poster advertisements, effectively improved students’ vocabulary mastery. Therefore, authentic materials are recommended as an alternative teaching material to enhance vocabulary learning in junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the influence of the school environment on students' social behavior at SMA Negeri 1 Bone Bolango. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study involved 79 students as respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, correlation analysis, coefficient of determination, and t-test using IBM SPSS Statistics 21. The findings showed that the school environment was categorized as very good, with a mean score of 4.21, while students' social behavior was categorized as good, with a mean score of 3.95. The regression analysis produced the equation Ŷ = 18.636 + 0.707X, indicating a positive relationship between the school environment and students' social behavior. The t-test results revealed that the school environment had a positive and significant effect on students' social behavior (t = 7.362, p < 0.05). In addition, the correlation coefficient was 0.643, indicating a strong relationship between the variables. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.413, meaning that 41.3% of the variation in students' social behavior was explained by the school environment, while 58.7% was influenced by other factors. Therefore, a positive school environment significantly contributes to the development of students' social behavior.
