Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate that a physical fitness-based learning model significantly contributes to increasing students' physical activity. Learning approaches that emphasize structured physical activity, movement variations, and active student engagement have been shown to improve students' fitness levels and participation in physical activity (Smith & McKenzie, 2018). Furthermore, a study by Lubans et al. (2016) confirmed that systematically designed physical education interventions can significantly increase students' active time (moderate-to-vigorous physical activity) in elementary school settings. This finding is further supported by research by Dale et al. (2019), which states that a physical activity-based learning model integrated into the curriculum can improve students' daily movement habits. In the context of education in Southeast Asia, research by Sulaiman and Hamzah (2020) shows that physical fitness learning packaged in the form of games and varied activities can increase students' motivation and engagement in physical activity. Similar findings were also found by Putra et al. (2021), who stated that an active learning approach in physical education has a positive impact on improving students' fitness and interest in sports. However, most previous studies have focused on improving general fitness, without specifically addressing changes in elementary school students' daily physical activity within the context of structured, fitness-based learning in elementary schools in specific areas. This situation indicates a research gap that needs to be filled. The scientific uniqueness of this study lies in the application of a physical fitness learning model contextualized to the conditions of elementary school students at SD 2 Perampuan. This study not only measures fitness improvements but also specifically analyzes changes in students' physical activity based on various indicators of daily and weekly activity, as well as the types of physical activity undertaken. Thus, this study provides a more comprehensive picture of the impact of learning models on students' physical activity behavior. This model also helps to shape healthy lifestyle habits and increase students' physical activity. During elementary school age, children are in a phase of very rapid motor development, making physical activity a crucial component in supporting their physical, cognitive, and social growth. However, in practice, students' physical activity levels are often suboptimal due to limited learning variations, low motivation to move, and the dominance of sedentary activities outside of school.

Abstract

The People's Salt Business Program (PUGAR) is a government initiative aimed at improving the welfare of coastal communities through strengthening production capacity, enhancing access to capital, and promoting the development of community-based salt enterprises. However, studies examining the sustainability of the program from the perspective of coastal community empowerment remain limited, particularly at the local level. This study aims to analyze the sustainability of the People's Salt Business Program in empowering coastal communities in Talabiu Village, Woha District, Bima Regency, Indonesia. A qualitative research design employing a case study approach was adopted. Research informants were selected purposively and included representatives from the Bima Regency Marine and Fisheries Office, village government officials, fisheries extension officers, community salt business groups, community leaders, and business partners. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that the sustainability of the People's Salt Business Program has made a positive contribution to coastal community empowerment. This is reflected in improved access to business capital, increased salt production, and expanded marketing opportunities for locally produced salt. Furthermore, the program has strengthened the institutional capacity of community salt business groups through continuous guidance and mentoring, while also fostering business partnerships that support sustainable production and market development. Nevertheless, challenges remain in marketing and market accessibility, requiring ongoing support from government institutions and relevant stakeholders. Overall, the sustainability of the People's Salt Business Program has proven effective in enhancing the economic capacity, institutional resilience, and self-reliance of coastal communities in Talabiu Village.

Abstract

Digital transformation in village governance has emerged as a strategic imperative for enhancing public service quality, administrative efficiency, transparency, and accountability at the local government level. Within this context, the Village Information System (VIS) serves as a critical instrument for supporting data-driven governance and citizen-oriented service delivery. However, the successful development and implementation of VIS are influenced not only by technological infrastructure but also by leadership capacity and organizational readiness. This study aims to examine the leadership strategies employed by the Head of Jia Village, Sape District, Bima Regency, in the development of the Village Information System. A qualitative case study approach was adopted, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving village officials, VIS operators, representatives of the Village Consultative Body (BPD), and community members. Data were analyzed using an interactive model comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that the Head of Jia Village adopted adaptive, participatory, and service-oriented leadership strategies to facilitate VIS development. These leadership practices were manifested across five dimensions of public service quality: (1) tangibles, reflected in the provision of digital infrastructure and supporting service facilities; (2) reliability, demonstrated through efforts to strengthen the competence and professionalism of village officials; (3) responsiveness, evidenced by the ability to address community needs promptly through both conventional and digital communication channels; (4) assurance, reflected in the enhancement of trust, service ethics, and institutional credibility; and (5) empathy, demonstrated through citizen-centered service approaches that prioritize accessibility and inclusiveness. Despite these achievements, VIS utilization remains suboptimal due to limited levels of digital literacy among community members, resulting in a continued preference for face-to-face service interactions. This study concludes that leadership plays a pivotal role in advancing digital transformation within village governance. The effectiveness of VIS development depends not only on technological readiness but also on the capacity of local leaders to integrate digital innovation with human resource development and community participation. The findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on digital governance and rural leadership by highlighting the significance of adaptive and transformational leadership in sustaining digitalization initiatives at the village level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of adding carrot flour on the moisture content and sensory quality of dried milk. The study was conducted at the Pastry and Bakery Processing Laboratory of the Culinary Arts Education Program at Jakarta State University. The study period ran from May 2025 to June 2026. The method used in this study was the experimental method. The research samples consisted of dried sus with 2%, 4%, and 6% added carrot flour, which were then tested by 45 moderately trained panelists—15 panelists each—who evaluated the dried sus products with added carrot flour (2%, 4%, and 6%) in terms of their sensory quality. Based on the results of the statistical hypothesis test for moisture content using an ANOVA test, it was shown that, overall, there was no effect of adding 2% (2.03), 4% (2.04), and 6% (2.05) carrot flour to the dried milk on moisture content. Based on the results of the statistical hypothesis test for sensory quality using the Kruskal-Wallis test, it was shown that the addition of 2%, 4%, and 6% carrot flour to the dried milk had no effect on the aspects of carrot flour aroma, savory taste, carrot flour taste, and texture. Based on the results of the Kruskal-Wallis test, it was shown that only the color aspect differed significantly, with the addition of 2% carrot flour yielding the best results. Thus, the author recommends that dried milk with 2% carrot flour be further.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the effect of sugar addition formulation on physical quality, consumer acceptability, and nutritional content of Sempur fruit jam. This study was conducted at the Food Processing Laboratory of the Culinary Arts Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Jakarta State University. The study period began in July 2024 to March 2025. The research method used was an experimental method. The research sample used was Sempur fruit jam with added sugar with a percentage of 10%, 12%, and 14% which was then assessed for acceptability through organoleptic (hedonic) tests to 30 semi-trained panelists with assessment aspects including color, aroma, taste, and texture. Data analysis for organoleptic tests used the Friedman test, while nutritional content including water content and vitamin C content was tested in the laboratory. Based on the results of the organoleptic test, there was no significant effect of differences in the percentage of added sugar (10%, 12%, and 14%) on consumer acceptability in the aspects of color, aroma, texture, sweetness, and sourness. However, descriptively, the addition of 14% sugar tended to be preferred by panelists in all aspects. The results of the nutritional content test showed a tendency for water content to decrease as sugar concentration increased, with the lowest average being at 14% (1.55%). In the vitamin C test, statistical results showed that the formulation did not have a significant effect. Researchers recommend utilizing sempur fruit as an innovative jam product to support local food diversification.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of peer feedback on students’ English speaking ability among eleventh-grade EFL learners. The research aims to determine whether peer feedback significantly improves students’ speaking performance in terms of fluency, accuracy, pronunciation, vocabulary, and comprehension. The study employed a quantitative pre-experimental design using a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The participants consisted of 30 eleventh-grade students at a senior high school. Data were collected through speaking tests, observation sheets, and scoring rubrics adapted from Brown and Abeywickrama (2010). The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ speaking performance after the implementation of peer feedback activities. The mean score increased from 61.4 in the pre-test to 78.2 in the post-test. A paired-sample t-test showed a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (t(29) = 9.87, p < .001). Furthermore, Cohen’s d analysis indicated a large effect size (d = 1.21), demonstrating the substantial impact of peer feedback on students’ speaking ability. Classroom observations also revealed increased confidence, participation, interaction, and motivation among students. The study concludes that peer feedback is an effective collaborative learning strategy for improving EFL students’ speaking ability. Therefore, English teachers are encouraged to integrate peer feedback into speaking classrooms to enhance students’ communicative competence.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of E-Government as part of the government's efforts to improve the quality of public services through the use of information and communication technology. One such implementation has been carried out by the Kediri Regency Population and Civil Registration Office through the Sahaja (One Day) Online application, a digital-based population administration service. This study aims to describe and analyse the implementation of E-Government in population administration service through the Sahaja Online application at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Kediri Regency for the period 2024-2025. The study employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis of the study utilized the theory of the success factors in E-Government development from the Harvard JFK School of Government, cited by Indrajit (2006), which encompasses support, capacity, and value. The research findings indicate that the implementation of E-Government through the Sahaja Online application is underway, but has not yet been optimised. In terms of support, there is government backing, government commitment, and inter-agency cooperation. However, there are inconsistencies in support for human resources relating to bureaucracy and finance, and public awareness campaigns have not been carried out in a uniform and sustainable manner. In terms of capacity, the availability of information technology infrastructure is considered adequate; however, there are still limitations regarding the availability of financial resources and competent human resources. In terms of value, the Sahaja Online application provides benefits in the form of convenience, time efficiency, cost savings, and improved quality of civil registration service for the public.
