Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Early Detection of Child Growth and Development Program (DDTK) at RA Bani Adam, Bekasi City using the CIPP model (context, input, process, product). The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data sources from the principal, teachers, parents, activity observations, and program documentation. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study indicate that in the context aspect, the DDTK program was born from the institution's real need for objective data on child development and is aligned with the direction of SDIDTK, but is not yet supported by written SOPs. In the input aspect, the school has basic anthropometric tools and support from collaboration with the community health center, but the number of tools is limited, teachers have not received formal training, and screening instruments are not yet available independently. In the process aspect, physical measurements have been conducted monthly but not consistently across all classes, recording is still manual, and follow-up is not systematically scheduled. In the product aspect, the program helps detect delays, strengthens school-parent communication, and triggers early referrals, but longitudinal analysis and documentation of intervention results are not optimal. Overall, the DDTK program at RA Bani Adam is relevant and beneficial, but requires strengthening of standardization, teacher training, data integration, and sustainable follow-up to be more effective and sustainable.

Abstract

Phonological ability is an important foundation for early childhood reading and writing readiness, but learning in early childhood education often takes place conventionally and does not utilize play activities. This study aims to develop Engklek Literacy Media and test its feasibility and limited effectiveness in improving the phonological abilities of children aged 5–6 years. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. The field test subjects were all children in group B at Telkom Rancaekek Kindergarten, consisting of Group B1 (28 children) and Group B2 (26 children). Both groups were positioned as two parallel implementation groups that both received media intervention. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and expert validation sheets, then analyzed descriptively and using N-Gain at the evaluation stage. The results showed that the media received a very feasible category from material experts (94%), media experts (91%), and language experts (92%) with an average feasibility of 92%. In the field test, the combined average score increased from 43 (51%) in the pretest to 59 (70%) in the posttest with an N-Gain of 39% in the moderate category. These findings indicate that the Engklek Literacy Media is feasible to use and has an indication of effectiveness in improving children's phonological abilities in the context of Telkom Rancaekek Kindergarten, although the interpretation of effectiveness needs to be done proportionally because the research design is still pre-experimental and the intervention duration is relatively short.

Abstract

This research is inspired by the importance of mathematical problem-solving skills for elementary school students and the need for innovation in learning approaches that can accommodate the diversity of students' learning needs. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing differentiated instruction and the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fifth-grade students at SDN 5 Gondang. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study consisted of all fifth-grade students at SDN 5 Gondang. The data collection instruments included a test instrument to measure mathematical problem-solving abilities and non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets and analysis of student worksheets based on differentiated instruction and the PBL model. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 31 software through simple linear regression tests. The results showed that: 1) There is a significant difference in problem-solving abilities between students in experimental class 1 (differentiated instruction) and experimental class 2 (PBL model). The significance value obtained through a two-sided test was 0.024 < 0.05, thus it can be stated that there is a statistically significant difference between the problem-solving abilities of students taught using differentiated instruction and those taught using the PBL model. 2) The use of differentiated instruction in experimental class 1 proved to have an effect on students' problem-solving abilities, as indicated by an F-value of 9.480 with a significance level of 0.006 (<0.05). This confirms that there is an effect of the differentiated instruction variable (X) on the problem-solving ability variable (Y). 3) The application of the PBL model in experimental class 2 significantly influenced students' critical thinking skills. An F-value of 11.918 was obtained with a significance value (Sig.) of 0.003. Since the significance value is less than 0.05.

Abstract

This study develops an integrative framework for education policy analysis, namely the Neuro–Techno–Ethno Policy Framework (NTEPF), by synthesizing insights from neuroscience, digital transformation, and ethnopedagogy. Contemporary policy approaches tend to operate in fragmented paradigms, limiting their capacity to address complex and context-dependent educational challenges. This research employs a conceptual qualitative design using critical literature synthesis and theory-building methodology. The findings indicate that effective policy depends on the alignment between cognitive processes, technological infrastructures, and cultural contexts. The proposed framework contributes to education policy theory by bridging micro-level learning dynamics with macro-level governance structures. It also provides a practical direction for designing adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable learning ecosystems

Abstract

Agrarian conflict is one of the main factors contributing to the increasing vulnerability of communities, especially in rural areas that depend on natural resources. This study aims to analyze community vulnerability in the context of agrarian conflict in Loyang Village, Cikedung District, Indramayu Regency, which is within the working area of KPH Indramayu. This conflict involved the cultivating community, Perum Perhutani as the manager of the forest area, and PG Jatitujuh as the holder of the Right to Use Business (HGU), which was triggered by the change in the function of the forest area into sugarcane plantation land. This study uses a qualitative approach with data analysis from interviews and literature studies, and refers to the concept of vulnerability according to Moser which includes seven dimensions, namely labor, human capital, housing and infrastructure, household relations, social capital, natural capital, and financial capital. The results of the study show that the vulnerability of the people of Loyang Village is multidimensional and interrelated between dimensions of livelihood. High dependence on the agricultural sector, limited non-agricultural skills, and uncertainty of access to land are the main factors that strengthen structural vulnerability. In addition, inequality of access to financial resources and limited alternative economic opportunities further narrow people's adaptive capacity. On the other hand, household relations and social capital play a role as an adaptation mechanism, although they are limited and have not been able to overcome the root of the problem. Agrarian conflicts not only have an impact on economic aspects, but also affect social, ecological, and institutional stability. Thus, the vulnerability of the people of Loyang Village is the result of an interaction between structural, social, and ecological factors. Therefore, a comprehensive handling approach is needed through strengthening adaptive capacity, increasing access to resources, and improving agrarian policies that are more inclusive and equitable.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of digital media literacy in addressing the phenomenon of character assassination against the Governor of West Java among students in Bandung. In today’s digital era, the spread of inaccurate or harmful information can quickly circulate through social media and other digital platforms, potentially damaging an individual’s reputation. Students, as an active and critical age group in using digital media, are at high risk of becoming both targets and spreaders of detrimental information. This study employs a qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) with students from several universities in Bandung to understand their perspectives on digital media literacy and their responses to information related to character assassination. The results indicate that, while students possess a basic understanding of digital media, many still struggle to identify and counter the spread of inaccurate information, particularly regarding political issues. Furthermore, students tend to underutilize skills in information verification and understanding the negative impacts of disseminating harmful information. Therefore, this study underscores the importance of strengthening digital media literacy to enhance students’ critical abilities in addressing character assassination, with a focus on skills such as source verification, contextual analysis, and ethical information dissemination. This study recommends that digital media literacy be further incorporated into higher education curricula to better prepare students to become responsible and discerning media users in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze a waste management system based on public education in addressing urbanization and the impacts of climate change in Makassar City. Increasing urbanization has led to an increase in the volume of household waste and increasing pressure on the urban environment, particularly in Manggala District, the location of the Tamangapa Final Disposal Site (TPA). This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Research informants consisted of the Manggala District Government, waste bank managers, PT Pegadaian, and the community. The results showed that waste management based on public education is carried out through a collaborative governance approach between the government, the private sector, and the community through the Waste Bank and "The Gade Clean and Gold" programs. The education system is carried out through socialization of waste sorting, the formation of environmentally friendly behavior, and the provision of economic incentives in the form of gold savings. The study found that public education is an important instrument in increasing citizen participation in waste management while strengthening urban environmental resilience to the impacts of urbanization and climate change. However, low public awareness, limited facilities, and uneven distribution of environmental education remain major obstacles in program implementation. This study confirms that waste management based on public education can be a model for sustainable urban environmental development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the philosophy behind the names “La Ode” and “Wa Ode” in the construction of social identity among the Buton people through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. Naming in traditional societies serves not only as a personal identity but also as a social symbol representing social stratification, genealogical legitimacy, and collective cultural values. The research method employs the SLR approach in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines, through the selection and analysis of 18 scientific articles indexed in Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Scopus. The results indicate that the names “La Ode” and “Wa Ode” function as mechanisms for constructing social identity based on ascribed status, which is genealogically inherited within the Buton Sultanate system. Furthermore, the symbolic meaning of these names is dynamic and undergoes transformation in the context of modernization, while still maintaining cultural legitimacy. This study also identified a gap in the literature regarding the scarcity of studies that comprehensively integrate naming philosophy with social identity theory within the SLR approach. The contribution of this study lies in the development of a conceptual model that integrates social identity theory and social construction to understand traditional naming practices as a complex and adaptive symbolic system. The conclusion is that the naming philosophy behind “La Ode” and “Wa Ode” constitutes a multidimensional social identity construction, encompassing historical, structural, and symbolic aspects

Abstract

Addiction counselors with a history of drug abuse recovery hold a unique position because they assist clients in the rehabilitation process while also maintaining their own recovery. This study aims to examine the emotion-focused coping strategies used by former drug-user addiction counselors in dealing with work stress from the perspective of character education. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study design at Yayasan Sekar Mawar, West Bandung Regency, West Java. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study. The main informants consisted of three addiction counselors with a history of drug abuse, while two supporting informants were involved to provide an institutional perspective. The findings show that addiction counselors experience work stress from various sources, including diverse client characteristics, family pressure, demands to be role models, monotonous work routines, and personal vulnerability in maintaining recovery. The dominant coping strategy used by the counselors is emotion-focused coping, particularly positive reappraisal, self-controlling, and distancing. From the perspective of Thomas Lickona’s character education, these coping strategies reflect the formation of moral knowing through self-awareness and understanding of personal limits, moral feeling through emotional control and empathy, and moral action through the counselors’ consistency in professionally assisting clients. This study concludes that emotion regulation among addiction counselors functions not only as a strategy for managing work stress but also as a process of character formation, including self-control, responsibility, reflection, and resilience in maintaining recovery.
