Abstract

The increasing complexity of global environmental crises requires effective digital communication strategies to build public awareness. This study aims to analyze the environmental issues presented and the framing patterns used in EcoTrends content on the Instagram account @piligreennetwork managed by PILI Green Network. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method using Robert Entman’s (1993) framing analysis approach. Data were collected through observations of 22 EcoTrends contents published between February 2024 and January 2026, as well as in-depth interviews with three key informants involved in content production. The findings show that EcoTrends covers six categories of environmental issues, namely ecological disasters, climate and weather phenomena, environmental governance and policy, conservation and biodiversity, sustainable lifestyles, and current viral issues. The framing analysis reveals that EcoTrends applies a consistent communication pattern by presenting trending issues, explaining their ecological causes, building moral judgments, and providing calls to action or solutions for audiences. Entman’s four framing elements are integrated through visual, narrative, and textual dimensions. This study concludes that EcoTrends not only delivers information about environmental crises but also constructs public understanding of ecological issues through communication strategies that adapt to digital trends.

Abstract

The high unemployment rate among vocational school graduates indicates a gap between graduate competencies and the needs of the business and industrial world. This condition requires the strategic role of school public relations in establishing and managing sustainable cooperation with the business and industrial world in order to increase graduate employment. This study aims to analyze the role of school public relations in establishing cooperation with DUDI to improve graduate employment at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were collected through observation,in-depth interviews, and documentation with informants selected purposively, including the principal, vice principal for public relations and curriculum, Special Job Exchange (BKK) manager, department heads, and industry partners. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and was tested for validity through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that roleof public relations in increasing graduate employment was carried out through four main stages, namely planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. Public relations plays a mediating role in analyzing competency requirements, mapping DUDI partners, developing and implementing cooperation through MoU and conducting evaluations based on tracer studies. The cooperation established includes field work practices, industry classes, teaching factories, guestteachers, teache internships, and graduate recruitment. These findings indicate that the role of public relation, when managed systematically and collaboratively, contributes positively to increasing the absorption of vocational school graduates into the workforce.

Abstract

Speaking anxiety remains a common issue experienced by students learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL), especially when they are required to perform in formal academic presentations. This study investigated the factors contributing to speaking anxiety among final-semester students during seminar proposal presentations and examined how the anxiety influenced their ability to present and respond to examiners’ questions from the perspective of Krashen’s Affective Filter Hypothesis. The study employed a qualitative case study design involving 15 students of the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Culture, Management, and Business (FBMB), Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and supporting documentation. The collected data were analyzed using the interactive analysis model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students’ anxiety was influenced by three major aspects: psychological, linguistic, and situational factors. Psychological aspects such as fear of making mistakes, nervousness, and low self-confidence appeared to be the strongest contributors. In addition, limited vocabulary, concerns about grammar, pronunciation difficulties, and pressure during question-and-answer sessions also increased students’ anxiety levels. The study further found that anxiety affected students’ fluency, concentration, confidence, and ability to explain ideas clearly during presentations. Many students experienced hesitation, difficulty organizing explanations, and problems responding spontaneously to examiners’ questions. Viewed from Krashen’s Affective Filter Hypothesis, these findings indicate that high anxiety can function as an emotional barrier that disrupts students’ speaking performance in academic settings. This study highlights the importance of creating supportive learning environments and providing more opportunities for academic speaking practice to help students reduce anxiety and improve presentation performance.

Abstract

Poverty remains a strategic issue in regional development, including in Bojonegoro Regency, despite showing a general downward trend. The Family Hope Program (PKH), as a social protection policy, is expected to improve the welfare of the poor, but its effectiveness at the village level still requires in-depth study. This study aims to analyze the implementation of PKH and its contribution to reducing poverty in Mulyoagung Village, Bojonegoro District. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation of relevant informants. The results indicate that communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure in PKH implementation have been effective. However, several obstacles remain, including low knowledge about business development in economic empowerment. This study contributes in the form of an overview of PKH implementation at the village level and serves as evaluation material for village governments in improving program effectiveness.

Abstract

Critical thinking is the process of thinking clearly and logically when evaluating information. It involves using cognitive abilities to identify, analyse and evaluate information in order to solve problems and draw the right conclusions. This study aims to analyse the impact of implementing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry Learning models alongside a deep learning approach on critical thinking skills in environmental studies. The research used a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomised control group pretest-posttest. The study's participants were 61 pupils selected through purposive sampling. Critical thinking skills were measured using an essay test based on the following six Ennis indicators: Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview. The data were analysed using One Way ANOVA. The results showed no significant difference in critical thinking skills (F(1, 29) = 0.022, p = 0.883, ηp² = 0.001). Therefore, it can be concluded that implementing the PBL and Inquiry Learning models with a deep learning approach has the same impact on students' critical thinking skills.Critical thinking is the process of thinking clearly and logically when evaluating information. Abstract

Returning Indonesian migrant workers often face difficulties in socio-economic reintegration after returning to their home regions, characterized by low public participation, limited entrepreneurial skills, and dependence on unsustainable remittances. This study aims to analyze the application of andragogy principles in the Desa Peduli Buruh Migran Program by Migrant CARE within the Gema Karya Migran Group in Juntinyuat, Indramayu, as well as its contribution to the socio-economic reintegration of former migrant workers. The research method is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving program facilitators, group members, families of migrant workers, government, and the migrant worker protection service center. The research results indicate that the program has implemented Knowles’ six principles of andragogy, namely the need to know, self-concept, role of experience, readiness to learn, orientation to learning, and motivation. This implementation has successfully restored the social functioning of group members through increased participation in village deliberations, the development of self-confidence, and the ability to independently handle licensing procedures. However, the contribution to economic reintegration remains limited because income from micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises is sporadic and dependent on orders from corporate partners. In conclusion, the Desbumi Program is effective as a social reintegration strategy, while economic reintegration requires ongoing support, particularly in the areas of market access and digital marketing.

Abstract

Cardiorespiratory capacity and motor efficiency are crucial for athlete performance under extreme fatigue. This descriptive quantitative meta-analysis aims to analyze the effectiveness of caffeine as an ergogenic aid on physical and psychomotor performance. Secondary data were drawn from five reputable scientific literatures with controlled experimental designs in badminton, soccer, hockey, karate, and cognitive function. The synthesis of results shows that caffeine significantly increases aerobic endurance ($p < 0.05), maintains skill stability under fatigue, and improves accuracy and reaction time. Neurophysiologically, caffeine blocks adenosine receptors in the central nervous system to delay the perception of fatigue and stimulates calcium release in the sarcoplasmic reticulum to strengthen muscle contractions. An optimal dose of 3–6 mg/kg body weight consumed 45–60 minutes before activity has been shown to be valid, legal, and effective in delaying central/peripheral fatigue and boosting performance by 2–3%. Further research is needed to examine the variability in individual responses based on genetics and caffeine habituation.

Abstract

This study examines Orodia as a living ethical system within the Meukisi indigenous community in Papua, Indonesia, and analyzes its integration with Christian moral values in the construction of character education. The research responds to the tendency to separate religion and custom, particularly in indigenous societies where spiritual beliefs, cultural traditions, and moral practices are deeply interconnected. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving traditional leaders, church leaders, elders, parents, youth representatives, and community members. The data were analyzed thematically within an interpretive sociological framework. The findings reveal that the seven principles of Orodia—akoi-akoi, betoi-betoi, dekoi-dekoi, kenabise, temeh, tevrei, and yau—function as moral mechanisms that regulate diligence, obedience, respect, love, peace, accountability, reconciliation, and communal fellowship. The study further demonstrates that Christianity does not replace indigenous spirituality, but reinforces and reinterprets the ethical meanings embedded in Orodia. This integration produces a contextual model of character education grounded in local wisdom, communal responsibility, and religious morality. The study contributes to indigenous education, sociology of religion, and character education by affirming Orodia as a culturally rooted framework for shaping ethical consciousness and social harmony.

Abstract

Character education in the era of globalization faces challenges of moral decadence and the decline of social ethics. This study aims to deeply examine the management strategy of character education based on local wisdom from the perspective of Maqashid Shariah in State Senior High Schools (SMAN), particularly in the Bayan region, North Lombok. The research method employed is qualitative with a literature review (library research) approach, utilizing descriptive-analytical methods. The results indicate that the integration of Bayan local wisdom values such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), tolerance, religiosity, and respect for nature with the five principles of Maqashid Shariah (hifẓ al-dīn, hifẓ al-nafs, hifẓ al-‘aql, hifẓ al-nasl, and hifẓ al-māl) can be operationalized through Thomas Lickona's framework encompassing modeling, practice, and reflection. This study successfully formulates the Character Education Management Strategy Model Based on Local Wisdom from the Maqashid Shariah Perspective (MSK- MQ), which is built upon three main pillars: the philosophical pillar (Maqashid Shariah), the cultural pillar (Bayan Local Wisdom), and the managerial pillar (School- Based Management). This strategy is holistically implemented through the curriculum, school culture, extracurricular activities, and teacher modeling. Character education in the era of globalization faces challenges of moral decadence and the decline of social ethics.
