Istiqomah H, Abbellia D, Triani L, Mevika N, Khodijah SS, Yuliana Y, Umayah A, Gunawan B, Arsi A. 2022. inventory and identification of rice predator insects in Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 552-561. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Rice (Oryza sativa) is one of the plants that is an important commodity in Indonesia, various efforts have been made to increase rice production, but often encounter obstacles, one of which is the presence of organismal pests, especially insects. Therefore, it’s necessary to have the role of natural enemies in the form of predatory insects in controlling rice pests. This study aimed to determine the number and types of predatory insects found in rice plants in three villages, namely Muara Penimbung Village, Tanjung Sejaro Village, Sakatiga Village, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This research method was carried out by observing and using yellow traps installed in the rice fields to catch predatory insects. From the research results in the three villages, there are predatory insects with four different orders, namely the order Odonata, order Coleoptera, order Hemiptera, and order Diptera. The order Odonata (dragonfly) consists of 4 species: Pantala flavescents, Orthetrum sabina, Agriocnemis minima, Orthetrum Chrysis. Then the order Coleoptera (beetle) found consisted of 4 species: Epilachna admirabilis, Paederus fuscipes, Micraspis discolor, Diekeana admirabilis. order Hemiptera found 1 species, namely: Andrallus spinidens. One species of the order Diptera, namely: Asilidae sp. So, it can be concluded that predatory insects on rice plants are very diverse and consist of various orders that can be used as natural enemies to control insect pests or plant pests. Further education is needed about the important role of predatory insects as natural enemies of plant pest control.

Mukti RC, Anggraini AF, Maharani AG, Nadeak AM, Simarsoit MAM, Kencana C, Guntara MS. 2022. The production of catfish (Pangasius sp.) in theree different villages In Ogan Ilir District. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 695-703. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Catfish (Pangasius sp.) is one of the most widely cultivated freshwater fish commodities. The current problem that occurs related to catfish yields lies in the location and application of different cultivation systems. This study aimed to determine the differences in the best farmed production results of catfish in three different villages. The method carried out is to conduct a interviews, field observations, and literature reviews. Interviews were conducted directly to fish farmers in Burai Village, Ulak Segelung Village, and Tanjung Pering as resource persons as well as conducting field observations with several literature studies on the source of information on the topic of discussion. The results showed that the location and application of different cultivation systems will affect the production of catfish. Cultivation location in Tanjung Pering Village with the use of water sources derived from rivers given alum and soda ash produce high production yields. While the best feeding frequency is applied in Burai Village by giving feed once a day at night using commercial pellets and additional feed in the form of fish - small fish is the best feeding method that produces high production results, followed up so that it can be applied to catfish farmers so that it can produce high production results. So it can be concluded that the best method of application. treatment and water is the villages of Tanjung Pering while the best method of applying feed is Burai Village. This activity needs to be followed up to get better implementation.

Abstract

Sinaga DD, Rachel AU, Santika I, Rahayu PP, Rohman MA, Febryanto S. 2022. Management of corn plants (Zea mays) in three Ogan Ilir Villages, South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 983-990. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Corn (Zea mays) is a commodity that is needed by the community as a source of food other than rice. The high demand for corn causes a lack of domestic production capacity. The purpose of this literature study is to examine the management system, types of varieties, and utilization of corn plants in three places, namely Timbangan, Palem Raya, and Tanjung Pering in Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. The method used in this study uses descriptive data analysis and data collection and collection techniques by means of quantitative analysis such as surveys, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of interviews and surveys, farmers carry out various planting to harvesting and sales, ranging from the use of fertilizers, spacing, anticipation of pest attacks. The application of organic fertilizers and chemical fertilizers to sweet corn plants in each of the places we surveyed was different. Because the doses given by farmers are different, it must be in accordance with the levels required by the corn plant in order to produce good corn. From this research, it can be concluded that the strategies used by farmers in the process of planting to harvesting their produce are different, thus affecting the income they get. In increasing corn production, farmers need to pay attention to maintaining the growth of corn from seed to harvesting.

Intensity of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) insect pests attack in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 504-512. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The increase in the demand for eggplant production is not accompanied by an increase in the amount of production, which is caused by the low productivity of eggplant due to insect pests attack. This study aimed to determine the intensity of insect pests on eggplant in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The method used is a survey or observation in the field to observe the species of insect pests, symptoms, and the intensity of insect pests by taking 20 random plant samples (random sampling). This research was conducted on three fields with different locations. Insect pests found included mealybug (Planococcus citri), whitefly (Bemisia tabaci), leafhopper (Empoasca fabae), ladybug (Epilachna sparsa), weevil (Hypomeces squamosus), and tobacco cutworm (Spodoptera litura). Symptoms of the dominant pest attack in the form of hollow leaves caused by Spodoptera litura larvae. The level of damage from S. litura occured in the vegetative phase where the larvae eat young leaves. The data obtained were analyzed by One-Way ANOVA followed by the Honest Significant Difference (HSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the highest attack intensity of Spodoptera litura was in Timbangan Village (26.8 ± 1.92)% so that the attack rate could be categorized as high. The intensity of attacks in Permata Baru Village is (15.6 ± 2.70)% and the attack rate is categorized as medium. The smallest attack intensity was in Tanjung Pering Village (8.4 ± 12.07)% so that the attack rate was categorized as low.

Abstract

Irmawati I, Priadi DP, Marlina M, Sodikin E, Ria M, Amelia CR. 2022. The application of NPK fertilizer through root infuse system on rubber plant (Hevea brasiliensis). In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 793-799.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The application of fertilizer with an infuse system is one alternative to increase the efficiency of fertilization on rubber plants. Root infuse systems are considered advantageous because of the reduced risk of fertilizer loss due to leaching and evaporation. For this reason, this study was conducted to determine the efficiency of NPK absorption through a root infuse system in rubber plants (Hevea brasiliensis). The research was carried out from September to December 2020 at the ATC rubber plantation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a randomized block design with 4 treatments consisting of N0 = control, N1 = 80 grams of NPK per plant, N2 = 100 grams of NPK per plant, N3 = 120 grams of NPK per plant. The observed variables included the volume of absorbed solution, leaf greenness level, and NPK content in plant leaves. Based on the results, it was concluded that NPK fertilization using root infuse system on rubber plants had a significant effect on the variables of the volume of absorbed solution at 3rd and 4th weeks, and leaf greenness level. The higher the concentration of solution, the slower and less solution was absorbed by the plant.

Simamora IA, Gustiar F, Zaidan Z, Irmawati I.  2022. Potential of chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) as a source of nutrious vegetables for Indonesian people. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 937-946. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius (Mill.) IM Johnst.) is an annual plant species that is not widely known by the Indonesian people. This plant has not been cultivated intensively, although Chaya is a type of vegetable plant that is rich in nutrients and has many benefits. This writing aimed to provide information on the study of the potential development of Chaya plants as a source of food, feed or as medicinal ingredients. In a tropical climate, Chaya plants have great potential to be developed as cultivated plants. This paper will examine the potential of Chaya from the aspect of agricultural cultivation and utilization of Chaya leaves. The lack of information and public knowledge regarding the nutritional content and benefits of Chaya is one of the inhibiting factors for plant development. This plant is easy to grow by propagation of stem cuttings, currently the chaya plant is still being developed on unproductive land and used as a hedge plant. With the development of information system media, it is hoped that it will increase public knowledge of the potential and benefits of Chaya leaves.

Population abundance of fruit fly species (Diptera : Tephritidae) on citrus plantation in Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 607-613. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Citrus plants Ogan Ilir Regency is one of the areas producing horticultural crops and fruits, including citrus fruits (Citrus sp). Citrus plants are attacked by pests caused by fruit flies (Bactrocera sp). The purpose of this study was to determine the population and abundance of fruit flies (Bactrocera sp) on citrus plants. Sampling was carried out randomly (random sampling) using a hanging bottle trap that was installed for 1x24 hours. The results of the field research showed that fruit flies on citrus plants in Timbangan Village, Palem Raya, and Tanjung Pering found one species, namely Bactrocera dorsalis The results of this observation showed a decrease in the population of B. dorsalis and in each sampling. The highest individual population was found in Palem Raya Village, while the lowest population was found in Tanjung Pering Village. The population of fruit flies in test 1 contained 569 fruit flies, in replicate 2 there were 350 fruit flies, and in replicate 3 there were 327 fruit flies. A total of 1,246 B. dorsalis in Timbangan, Palem Raya, and Tanjung Pering villages were trapped. The conclusion from this observation is that B. dorsalis is a species of fruit fly found in citrus plantations in the villages of Timbangan, Palem Raya, and Tanjung Pering and the average population is 415 fruit flies. The use of hanging bottle traps as traps is an effective solution in controlling individual populations of fruit flies on citrus plant.
