Abstract

Karyawati AS, Nursalim M, Blessya CP. 2022. Competition assessment on intercropping of maize and soybeans of various strains at various planting distances. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 544-551. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Corn and soybeans are one of the crops that are in great demand in the community, because the results are easy to manage both for food and as livestock needs. In the intercropping pattern of corn and soybeans, it is necessary to pay attention to the limited living space. Planting distances that are too narrow will cause competition for water, nutrients, and absorption of sunlight. The aimed of the research was to study the competition in various intercropping patterns of maize and various soybean lines. The research was carried out in the experimental field of Agro Techno Park (ATP) Universitas Brawijaya which is located in Jatikerto village, Kromengan, Reg. Malang, East Java. Planting materials used include soybean varieties UB1, UB2, UB3, UB4 and corn varieties R007. The results of this study indicate that the use of an intercropping pattern between soybean and corn using a one-row and two-row system gives decent results with LER and R/C ratio >1. In the two-row cropping pattern, maize is superior based on the competition ratio analysis but is more submissive in the aggressiveness analysis. From the overall treatment, the highest score was obtained in the intercropping treatment between two rows of UB4 and corn plants.

Abstract

Ulama DA, Bakri B. 2022. Evaluation of distribution oil palm roots (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) with different groundwater levels. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds), Prosding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 682-694. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).This research aimed to influence about groundwater levels and some soil physical properties on the distribution of palm oil roots. This research uses the observation method, then the data that has been obtained is presented in the form of tables and figures. To determine the effect of swamp distance and groundwater level depth on the distribution of oil palm roots, a T-test was carried out with a real level of 5%. In addition, Pearson (r) correlation and linear regression between the values of soil physical properties and the distribution of oil palm roots per soil depth were carried out. The results showed that the groundwater level did not have a significant effect on the value of oil palm root distribution. The physical properties of the soil in the form of color, moisture content, and total pore space have a positive correlation with the distribution value of the oil palm roots. But the value of bulk density has a negative correlation with the value of the distribution of oil palm roots. In this study, it was also found that texture has a positive influence on the distribution value of oil palm roots at 30 cm deep but has a negative influence on the distribution value of oil palm roots at depths of 60cm and 90 cm. So, the level of groundwater does not have a significant effect on the distribution of oil palm roots. However, the physical properties of soils have diverse correlations.

Palembang: Penerbit & Pencetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Chili is an agricultural plant that is often encountered in everyday life. The productivity of chili plants depends on climate, environment, as well as pests and diseases. In several villages in Ogan Ilir Regency that we surveyed, there were several insect pests on chili plants such as aphids, ladybugs, rice bug, fruit flies and seen from some of their attacks. The purpose of this study was to identify and identify insect pests that exist in chili plants in the villages that we surveyed. This research was conducted in three villages, namely Tanjung Pering Village, Tanjung Baru Village, and Lubuk Sakti Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. The research method that we use is direct method, namely by shaking method, sweep net, and some are caught directly. The results from our survey found insect pests in the form of ladybugs, rice bug, red mites, aphids, and fruit flies. Symptoms of attack from each of these insects are that aphids cause symptoms that make the leaves on chili plants become wrinkled, yellowish and twisted so that plant growth is stunted or stunted. In fact, plants can wither and die. In insects, mites cause symptoms such as leaving a shiny brown color on the underside of the leaves. And attacks on fruit flies, which are symptoms of fruit fly attacks on chili plants are marked by a black dot at the base of the fruit. The population of insect pests that were most commonly found was in the village of Tanjung Pering.Of the various insect pests on chili, physical/mechanical control and selective use of pesticides are needed so as not to interfere with the activity of predatory insects and parasitoids.

Abstract

Setyawan D, Maren A, Budianta D, Warsito W, Priatna SJ. 2022. Liquid organic fertilizer from pineapple peel waste for rural rubber land improvement in West Payaraman, Ogan Ilir. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 878-884.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Rubber plantations are an important source of income in Payaraman District, Ogan Ilir and are generally cultivated on marginal lands. Meanwhile, pineapple peel waste that is not utilized will pile up into garbage even though it can be used as liquid organic fertilizer or compost. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of POC pineapple peel waste in increasing soil N, P, and K nutrients and latex production. The study used a split plot design with the main plot of weed clearing (without and with weeding) while the subplots were POC doses of 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4% (equivalent to 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 ml POC). per liter of water). Watering is done with a frequency of once per week. The treatment was repeated three times. The experimental unit consisted of 30 mature rubber trees. Latex is collected weekly. The results showed that the POC of pineapple peel had a pH of 3.95; 0.05 % N; 0.027 % P and 0.19 % K. The initial soil pH value from 4.13 to 4.18 increased to around pH 5.0 after POC application for 4 weeks. Likewise, the total N content is about 0.26%; P-total 100 mg/kg and K-total 14 mg/kg. ANOVA results showed that the best treatment was a dose of 30 ml/liter with a latex production of 770 g/tree. Based on these observations, it can be concluded that the POC of pineapple waste has the potential to improve soil fertility and latex production. Weeding is important to reduce nutrient competition with rubber plants.
