Abstract

Health literacy is one of the essential components of the health sector. Health literacy could diminish mortality and morbidity, especially in cardiovascular disease. Until now, coronary artery disease is one of the most threatening diseases in our society. Pandemic forces our world to change into a digital era, including in health education. Surprisingly, online education is increasing health literacy as effectively as the conventional method. This study aims to determine the effect of a training program on knowledge of non-medical society about heart and blood vessel disease. This research was comparing pre-test and post-test scores for non-medical societies in webinars about coronary artery disease. From our result, we found that online education could increase the scope of the participant (48% of participants come from outside Jakarta). Our participants also quite vary from youngsters to senior citizens, from 18 to 69 years old. The online webinar could increase health literacy in coronary artery disease significantly (pre-test score: 50 (10-100), post-test score: 60 (20-100), p-value <0.001). Webinars about coronary artery disease could increase health literacy in non-medical society and it seems to be an effective method during pandemic COVID-19.

Abstract

Nowadays, organizations have had concerned about term work-family balance. It is related to employee welfare and performance at work. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the work system changed rapidly. There has been a radical change from working in the office to working from home. Based on research results, the pandemic causes problems in work-family balance. Even though achieving balance in work and family matters is essential to maintain mental health during this pandemic. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct online socialization and education regarding ways to achieve work-family balance during this pandemic. This community service activity aims to increase participants' knowledge about ways to achieve a balance of family work. The action was carried out in a webinar with a material presentation by the resource persons and discussion. The target of this activity is the general public. Data was collected through questionnaires and question-and-answer sessions. Based on the data, it was found that webinar participants gained additional knowledge about managing tasks in the workplace and family. This knowledge can be applied by individuals who have worked and become the provision of not yet married participants.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health education in schools is essential to provide alternative solutions to overcome student reproductive health problems. This fact makes teachers a more appropriate choice for understanding reproductive health in adolescents. Teachers have not been able to provide reproductive health education according to the needs of students, so in implementing reproductive health education in schools, teachers must prepare knowledge and skills in conveying material to facilitate the learning process of their students properly. Teachers need to receive training to be able to provide students with a proper understanding of reproductive health. A module is a tool for absorbing student knowledge; by understanding the adolescent reproductive health module, the teacher will be able to convey the material expected by students. The aim is to provide "training on the use of Adolescent Reproductive Health Modules for Teachers at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung" Regency to increase teachers' knowledge regarding adolescent reproductive health. The results indicate that there is an increase in the knowledge of teachers. The average pre-test result of participants was 84% with a standard deviation of ±0.905, and the average post-test result was 88.18% with a standard deviation of ±1.206. So it can be concluded that there is an increase of 5% from the pre-test and post-test results after training teachers. This community service activity certainly increases knowledge, understanding, and ability to detect early problems of teenagers in their schools.

Abstract

Administrative control is a way for an institution to archive or discipline its administration correctly. Loa Duri Ulu Village is one of the villages located in Loa Janan District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. Currently, the service administration system in the village of Loa Duri Ulu is still manual. Every community that needs documents related to a population still has to come to the village office to take care of these documents and record them into a book manually to impact the village office in carrying out their duties. This community service aims to overcome administrative service problems in Loa Duri Ulu Village by creating an administrative service information system. In this research-based community service, an iterative model strategy is used in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including several stages. This method consists of 5 stages: Planning Stages, Analysis Stages, Web Design Stages, SIMPELDES web Implementation Stages, and Maintenance Stages. The result of this service is that a web called the SIMPELDES web has been created and designed where this web has service features for various types of inputting and archiving letters in Loa Duri village. With an administrative application system and community service that is connected to the community database, it will be faster to get the required letters, both new letters, and old ones.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is not just about health issues but also about social issues, one of which is the world of education. For that is necessary to use other alternative media in learning using the internet. However, some teachers are not proficient in using and operating online platform applications. Changing the way of learning requires teachers to know information technology. For this reason, training activities were held using the G Form, Google Meet, and Zoom applications to increase knowledge in using these platforms. This activity was carried out at SD Muhammadiyah Sokonandi, involving 18 teachers in classes 1-3. Methods for implementing this activity include planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, the activity program is first drawn up. At the implementation stage, the training participants were given a pre-test, practical presentation, and mentoring accompanied by modules and ended with a post-test. In the final stage, data analysis was carried out using Microsoft Excel. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the understanding of class 1-3 teachers by 17,08%, and overall, 100% of teachers stated that this activity was beneficial. These results indicate that this training activity helps increase the knowledge of class 1-3 teachers who participated in the activity.

Abstract

Sport is an activity carried out systematically to improve physical and spiritual health. Exercise is also like a double-edged sword; on the one hand, exercise can improve health and avoid various diseases, but on the other hand, exercise can also cause injury if not done properly. Especially in early childhood, those who play sports can pose a danger to themselves, so the role of the teacher is vital in directing sports to early childhood children. The FITT principle (Frequency, Intensity, Type, and Time) is one of the principles that teachers can use to direct sports in early childhood correctly. The purpose of this PkM is to increase teacher knowledge to apply the FITT principle in sports at PKG-PAUD, Bojongsoang District, Bandung Regency. The method of implementing this activity goes through four stages firstly; a situation analysis is carried out on activity partners; secondly, a pretest is carried out by measuring the teacher's knowledge of the FITT principle in sports; the third is providing sports material and practice to children using the FITT principle, fourth at the end of the activity, post-test and activity evaluation are carried out. The results of this PkM show an increase in teacher knowledge about the FITT principle by 89.43%. Thus, in general, teachers have developed sports training programs for early childhood using the FITT principle.

Abstract

Kaliukan Village, Astambul District, Banjar Regency, is one of the villages where the majority of the people work as farmers. Their income, mainly from agricultural labor, has limitations, especially in conditions during pre-planting and before harvesting. On the other hand, Kaliukan village is a flood-prone area. Reports of people affected by the flood explained that the river's flow became slow due to the accumulation of garbage at the mouth of the river. Plastic waste that accumulates in the living environment and rivers is a problem faced by the people of Kaliukan Village because efforts to reduce the volume of plastic waste have not been managed by the community properly. This community service activity can be a solution by managing bottle and cup waste from mineral water packaging into plastic shreds through the empowerment of RT 1, 2, 3, and 4 Cadres in Kaliukan Village. This program was implemented in May–September 2021 in counseling, training, mentoring and monitoring, and evaluation activities. The results of this activity were a significant increase in knowledge (p-value = 0.020) towards the target of the activity, the formation of waste care cadres, and the implementation of workshops aimed at increasing the skills of cadres and handing over assistance for plastic waste counting equipment. At the monitoring and evaluation, village officials and cadres' commitment was formed to establish the "Amanah Bersama" waste bank. It is hoped that this activity will help preserve environmental cleanliness and make a joint effort to improve the community's economy in Kaliukan Village.

Abstract

This biogas technology program aims to reduce environmental pollution due to the smell of livestock manure and, at the same time, reduce the household economic costs of the farmer group community to buy LPG. The service method is by providing education to farmer groups about the cultivation of beef and dairy cattle, manure as a source of energy and fertilizer, and demonstration plots for biogas production. As the result of the dedication to making Biogas with a capacity of 12 m3, the digester starts to produce gas on the 14th day after being filled with cow dung. The economic value of cooking using Biogas is that it saves rupiah by not buying LPG gas, so on average, it holds 4-5 3 kg LPG cylinders per week or 16-20 LPG cylinders per month. The economic value saved is IDR 320,000 – 400,000 per family per month that uses this biogas fuel. Farmer groups use biogas waste as fertilizer for vegetables and corn. Three main benefits are felt, Biogas as a substitute for LPG, which the community has used. The by-product of Biogas has been used as organic fertilizer. From a social perspective, this program has also educated the public that livestock manure, which the community has considered waste, can provide economic and environmental benefits. The by-product of biogas technology which is processed into solid organic fertilizer, can increase soil nutrients, save costs on purchasing fertilizer, and increase people's income.

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb. Dear reader, now PengabdianMu: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat re-published on Volume 7 Issue 2 March 2022. This edition marks a change in publication frequency from four times to six times a year. The publication of PengabdianMu: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat certainly participate in disseminating the results of community services in science and technology development conducted by lecturers and researchers especially from UMPR and other universities. This edition contains 12 articles consisting of Education, Social and Political, Agriculture, and Health Science topics. Editorial boards are fully aware that there are still room for improvement in this edition, hence with all humility willing to accept constructive suggestions and feedback for improvements to the publication for the next editions. The editorial board would like to thank the University, all editors and reviewers, and contributors of the scientific articles who have provided the repertoire in this issue. Abstract

Students' perceptions of the school environment need attention because they can indirectly affect students' efforts to achieve academic achievement. Therefore, schools always strive to create safe, comfortable, fun, and not dull conditions, known as school well-being, which is the development of the concept of well-being. This community service activity was carried out for class X IIS 2 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Jakarta, who felt less happy because they could not follow lessons using information technology in their teaching and learning activities. This community service aims to improve students' school well-being so that with the happiness they feel, students are more enthusiastic and motivated to improve their learning achievement at school. This activity is carried out in the form of counseling. The results obtained from this activity are an increase in students' understanding of school well-being and creating a sense of happiness in the teaching and learning process.
