Abstract

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb. Dear reader, now PengabdianMu: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat re-published on Volume 7 Special Issue 1 February 2022. This edition marks a change in publication frequency from four times to six times a year. The publication of PengabdianMu: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat certainly participates in disseminating the results of community services in science and technology development conducted by lecturers and researchers, especially from UMPR and other universities. This edition contains 20 articles consisting of Education, Social and Political, Agriculture, and Health Science topics. Editorial boards are fully aware that there is still room for improvement in this edition, hence with all humility willing to accept constructive suggestions and feedback for improvements to the publication for the next editions. The editorial board would like to thank the University, all editors and reviewers, and contributors of the scientific articles who have provided the repertoire in this issue. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic forces us to do everything from home; this impacts access to maternal, child, and reproductive health services. Recent research has shown that coronavirus infection is similar to HIV, which has a similar gene mutation, which means it can attack human cells 1,000 times stronger than the SARS virus. Therefore, President Jokowi has instructed to carry out activities at home, in which health services are also limited. Many concerns occur in the community, especially among pregnant women, so that even pregnant women cannot access health services and postpartum mothers, infants, and mothers who are family planning acceptors. The latest data from the BKKBN shows a national decline in family planning services from February to March; almost 50% of family planning services in each type of family planning have decreased; one of the factors is the lack of information and education to the public, how to use safe contraception during pregnancy this pandemic. This community service aims to help with problems regarding the difficulty of accessing health services due to the pandemic, and this activity is a form of devotion to the midwifery study program and the profession in the country. Implementing this community service uses internet access and communication tools, both laptops and the internet. The main activity of this community service is to provide online midwifery consultation via text, voice, and video. 100% stated that they were satisfied with the counselor's services provided 90% of clients noted that this online consultation helped solve their problems experienced clients.

Abstract

Tajug Village is one of the districts affected by Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) in Siman District, Ponorogo Regency. Generally, people of Tajug’s livelihood is cultivating crops, raising livestock, selling tempe as well as other traditional food, and running a small herbal drink business. Additionally, several sellers promote their products door to door or make to order. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, those small enterprises decrease in turnover significantly. This is mainly because the number of social events is mostly banned or limited. Meanwhile, the empowerment of family welfare groups in Tajug village has been established in order to shelter community business activities, particularly for housewives. One of their products is herbs drink and unfortunately, their revenue had plunged into 40%. Additionally, they have no adequate knowledge of food safety in terms of how they pick hygiene bottles for their products. The objective of this community empowerment is herbs drink and traditional food business players as well as the members of PKK Tajug. The aim of this program is to encourage featured products in Tajug Village.

Abstract

The waste problem has social, environmental, and health impacts. This community service aims to handle household waste in Petoyan Hamlet, Giritirto Village, Purwosari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta. The method of this activity is community diagnosis, village community consultation (MMD), and conducting solutions/interventions with the community. This activity shows that most of the problems found are the management of household waste by the community is burned and buried. Then from the pre-test and post-test results, it was found that some people still do not understand the difference between organic and inorganic waste. Interventions carried out in this activity were the distribution of leaflets and outreach conducted door to door. It is hoped that the local government can provide a waste disposal site (TPS) and a final disposal site (TPA).

Abstract

Landak Regency in the province of West Kalimantan is rich in beautiful natural tourist attractions. Limited human resources and lack of infrastructure affect the development needed to manage those places properly. However, Landak has 12 communities that support local tourism, known as Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis), in each subdistrict. They are to be good beginning pioneers to manage the local tourist attractions. Helping them, STKIP Pamane Talino in collaboration with Dinas Pemuda Olahraga dan Pariwisata Landak (Disporapar) provide them training on how to be a good tour guide as our community service. They are expected to have more skills and knowledge to recognize and develop any gift and potential in their village. They will be the leader of their Pokdarwis. The implementation of this community service has been done through several stages: taking surveys, interviewing residents and community leaders, training on Sapta Pesona and tour guide, and preparing the final report. This activity results in the growth of public awareness, especially among members of the Pokdarwis, in developing and maintaining local tourist attractions.

Abstract

The problem in this community service activity is the use of learning media that is less varied. This is because most teachers are less creative in utilizing the objects around them as innovative learning media. Therefore, the solution used to overcome this problem is to carry out workshops on using used goods as learning media in Kindergarten. This activity aims to provide insight and skills to teachers at partner schools to use used materials around them in exciting learning media. This Community Service activity was conducted at the Pembina State Kindergarten, East Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City. The method used in this activity is a lecture, demonstration, and question and answer method. All teachers in the school participated in this activity. This training activity results in teachers gaining knowledge and skills in utilizing used goods in the surrounding environment in exciting and innovative learning media.

Abstract

A resilient village is an integral part of Indonesia's national resilience concept and paradigm. Theoretically, resilient towns have a root in the idea of human security, particularly community security. The resilient town can be measured by readiness, social trust, leadership, collective efficacy, and place attachment. This program is carried out in RT 03 RW 13 Desa Sukasari Kec. Cilaku Kab. Cianjur. The program is planned within three implementation phases, three years. Because it is oriented towards social engineering, the methods used are lectures, FGD, control and monitoring, and gap analysis. Five priority programs in 2020-2021 have been determined in the initial phase, namely: education, religion, security and health, economic productivity, and environment. Meanwhile, the stakeholders of each program are RT management, DKM and asatidz, foundations and teachers, and cooperatives. These programs are integrated, both between programs and among stakeholders, with a community networking system. As a result, most targeted programs can be implemented well by the second half of their first year. Such as Madrasah Diniya, Al-Badar Foundation, majlis taklim, urban farming, development of public facilities, etc. The main challenge for this program is to maintain consistency in the performance of stakeholders to keep the program sustainable

Abstract

Antenatal care is a pregnancy examination to optimize the mental and physical health of pregnant women to deal with childbirth, the postpartum period, preparation for breastfeeding, and the return of reproductive health naturally. Antenatal care services by several pregnant women are still not entirely appropriately utilized; this makes it difficult for health workers to carry out regular and comprehensive health care development for pregnant women, including early detection of pregnancy risk factors. The purpose of this activity was carried out to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about antenatal care visits. The method used in this activity is lectures and questions and answers via Zoominar. The results of this activity were attended by 20 pregnant women; during the activity, the mothers were very enthusiastic; this could be seen in the increase in the mother's knowledge before and after being given information.

Abstract

The impact of changes in the physiological system at age is a disturbance and a decrease in sleep quality. A reduction in sleep quality can affect the life expectancy of the elderly. In Indonesia, almost half of the total elderly (50%) have problems with sleep quality and experience serious sleep problems reaching 17%. The island of Java, especially the East Java region, reported about 45% of the elderly experience sleep quality problems. The quality of sleep that does not get proper treatment can affect physical and psychological performance so that the rate of older adults decreases. One of the exercises that can be given is progressive muscle relaxation. Increasing the degree of health in the elderly can be done by progressive muscle relaxation, which aims to increase muscle relaxation so that the elderly are calmer to prepare for physical conditions and body physiology at night when going to sleep. The purpose of community service is to provide education on progressive muscle relaxation exercises to prevent and reduce poor sleep quality in the elderly at the Elderly Posyandu. The methods used were free examinations, counseling, leaflet distribution, and poster installation. The development of community service programs is more optimal with the integration of Posyandu program activities carried out regularly and continuously.

Abstract

There is no greater power to encourage teachers to integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the learning process until the Covid-19 pandemic occurs. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the learning process in schools in the outermost, remote, and disadvantaged (3T) areas such as East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The implementation of Distance Learning (PJJ) has just begun to be introduced to teachers to ensure that students receive appropriate educational services. Unfortunately, this PJJ did not run well or optimally. This is because the teachers do not have the experience and knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) available for free such as Canvas. Therefore, the Community Service (PkM) team conducted strengthening training to increase knowledge and use of ICT for teachers at the State Junior High School (SMPN) 5 Borong, East Manggarai Regency. This activity uses presentation, demonstration (practice), and evaluation methods. This PkM activity shows that all of the participating teachers think that Canvas-based LMS training activities are beneficial and are committed to using Canvas LMS in their learning activities at school with students.
