Abstract

Environmental education faces increasing challenges in sustaining its implementation beyond formal program requirements, particularly in school-based initiatives such as the Adiwiyata program. This study aims to examine the role of school foundation in supporting the implementation of the Adiwiyata program and its influence on students’ environmental awareness in a private junior high school in Tangerang City. A qualitative evaluative approach was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that school foundations play a critical role in providing strategic leadership, policy direction, and resource support for environmental education initiatives. However, the effectiveness of these efforts depends on active collaboration among school stakeholders. The study underscores the importance of institutional synergy between foundations and schools to ensure the sustainability of environmental education programs. These findings contribute to the development of best practices for fostering long-term environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior among student.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of ethnomathematics-based learning in enhancing ninth-grade students’ mathematical problem-solving skills in geometry at an Islamic junior high school. A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test was employed, involving 47 students divided into an experimental group (n = 24) and a control group (n = 23). The experimental group received instruction integrating culturally relevant contexts, while the control group received teacher-centered expository instruction. Problem-solving skills were assessed through validated tests targeting comprehension, strategy formulation, execution, and evaluation, and analyzed using normalized gain (N-Gain) and independent-samples t-tests. Results indicated that the experimental group achieved significantly higher N-Gain scores than the control group, with a large effect size, demonstrating that ethnomathematics-based learning effectively fosters higher-order problem-solving abilities. These findings suggest that embedding cultural contexts in mathematics instruction provides a more engaging and enhancing students’ problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument for Arabic writing skills as a second language using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The instrument was developed based on the Oriondo and Antonio model, with a sample of 248 students who completed a writing test. Data were analyzed using R-Studio software for EFA, CFA, and descriptive statistics. The EFA results revealed one main factor, with eigenvalues and factor loadings above 0.6, indicating a consistent factor structure. In CFA, the four dimensions of writing skills (Ideas and Content, Structure and Organization, Style and Rhetoric, and Language and Grammar) showed excellent results, with factor loadings above 0.7 and adequate fit indices: RMSEA = 0.076, SRMR = 0.045, CFI = 0.922, and TLI = 0.906. Construct validity was reinforced with AVE = 0.669, composite reliability (rho_a) = 0.776, and Cronbach's Alpha of 0.961. Descriptive analysis showed an average writing skills score of 69.18, reflecting students' satisfactory writing ability. This study produces a valid and reliable instrument for assessing Arabic writing skills as a second language in higher education.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has significantly influenced the management of higher education institutions, particularly in academic administration. Higher education institutions are required to adopt effective information systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service quality. STAI-PIQ West Sumatra has implemented an Academic Information System (SIAKAD) as part of its educational administration management strategy. This study aims to analyze the implementation of educational administration management through an academic information system at STAI-PIQ West Sumatra. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, documentation, and literature review. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and roles of the academic information system in educational management. The findings indicate that the implementation of SIAKAD supports integrated academic management processes, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of academic activities. The system facilitates efficient management of academic data related to students, lecturers, curriculum, scheduling, assessment, and financial administration. Furthermore, SIAKAD contributes to improved administrative efficiency, data accuracy, and managerial decision-making, thereby supporting the achievement of the institution’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives. In conclusion, the academic information system plays a crucial role in strengthening educational administration management at STAI-PIQ West Sumatra. This study recommends continuous system development, enhancement of human resource competencies, and institutional commitment to technology-based management to optimize the effectiveness of academic information systems in Islamic higher education institutions.
