Abstract

Islamic values-based life skills education plays a crucial role in shaping students' character to be well-prepared for global challenges, particularly in the dynamic modern era. This research aims to explore the integration of Islamic values-based life skills education at SMP IT Sekolah Alam Ar-Royyan and its impact on character development, especially in terms of discipline, responsibility, honesty, and independence. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation from the school principal, teachers, and students. The data analysis technique employed is thematic analysis to identify key patterns and findings. The results indicate that programs such as Daurah Quran, project-based learning, Super Camp, and the Ar-Royyan Trip effectively foster students' life skills aligned with Islamic values, strengthening their morality and integrity in facing global challenges. However, this research has limitations regarding the scope and observation period, suggesting that future studies conduct comparative research in other schools and explore the development of digital skills based on Islamic values in life skills education in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ motivation and mathematics learning outcomes in the context of Kurikulum Merdeka at the elementary school level. Learning mathematics in a mechanical way, without engaging students in communicating and constructing their understanding, often leads to superficial comprehension. In the current era of advanced technology, student engagement should ideally be enhanced. However, the Covid-19 pandemic negatively impacted students’ motivation to learn. This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted in the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year involving two classes. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test with a significance level of 5% (? = 0.05). The results showed that the t-value for learning motivation was 2.614 and for learning outcomes was 5.368, both of which exceeded the critical t-table value of 2.04. These findings indicate that the use of the Project Based Learning model has a significant positive effect on both student motivation and mathematics learning outcomes in the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka. The implications of this study suggest that incorporating PjBL into mathematics instruction can enhance students’ intrinsic motivation and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts through real-world application. For educators, especially within the Kurikulum Merdeka framework, this model offers a practical and student-centered approach that supports the development of critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Policymakers and curriculum developers are encouraged to support the integration of PjBL through teacher training and resource development to optimize learning outcomes at the elementary level.

Abstract

The curriculum is a guideline for implementing education. Indonesia has experienced 11 curriculum changes. This study uses bibliometric analysis to examine the trends and characteristics of curriculum development in Indonesia. This bibliometric analysis method is carried out by collecting articles in the Dimensions database, which are processed using VOSviewer. The number of articles collected was 431, which were then filtered into 426 articles. This bibliometric analysis uses two approaches: performance analysis (journals, publication institutions, and educational organizations) and science mapping (citations, co-citations, bibliographic merging, and keywords). The results found that the number of curriculum development publications in Indonesia from 2014 to 2024 tended to increase. Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Padang, and Universitas Sebelas Maret have the highest publications on curriculum development. The keyword Development gets the highest occurrence value of 94. 2020 is the year with many keywords appearing, namely 24 keywords. This research is expected to encourage and increase innovation in curriculum development research in Indonesia

Abstract

Based on preliminary observations made by researchers at the three locations of SMAN which have the status of driving schools in Gresik Regency, it shows that there are problems in the economics learning outcomes on national income material in class XI. This information can be seen in the values of TP 2 in the national income material for several students who scored under the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), where there is a minimum score of 75. This study aims to analyze the joint effect of kinesthetic learning styles and student perceptions regarding the variance of the interactional teacher's teaching style on the learning outcomes of students on national income material in driving schools. The population of 3 SMANs with the status of driving schools in Gresik Regency was 432 and then a simple random sampling technique was carried out. The sample used in this study were 144 students using explanatory quantitative methods and using tests, hypotheses, classical assumptions, multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of data processing, the coefficient of determination (R-squared) is 0.94. Thus, it can be concluded that the combined influence of variables X1 and X2 on variable Y is 94%, while 6% is caused by the influence of other variables. Thus it is expected that schools will pay attention to each student's learning style and conduct teacher training to improve the ability of teachers to teach variations so that student learning outcomes are optimal

Abstract

This study investigates the satisfaction levels of Thai students from Pattani enrolled in four public universities in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Using a quantitative descriptive method, the research evaluates perceptions of academic service quality across five key dimensions: tangibles, reliability, empathy, responsiveness, and assurance. Data were collected from all 29 Thai students actively enrolled at Andalas University, UIN Padang, UIN Batusangkar, and UIN Bukittinggi through an online Likert-scale questionnaire. The findings reveal overall high satisfaction levels, with variations across institutions: Andalas University scored the highest (4.14), followed by UIN Bukittinggi (3.98), UIN Padang (3.97), and UIN Batusangkar (3.74). While most students expressed positive perceptions, areas such as service convenience, speed, and infrastructure emerged as needing improvement. The study highlights the importance of continuous service evaluation and culturally responsive practices to enhance the academic experiences of international students in Indonesian higher education institutions.

Abstract

The attitude of religious moderation is in the form of acknowledging the existence of other parties, being tolerant, respecting differences of opinion, and not imposing his will to use violence. This must be ingrained in the millennial generation of multicultural societies that share many traits. Diversity includes differences in culture, religion, race, language, ethnicity, tradition, etc. For example, in a multicultural society, tensions and conflicts between cultural groups often affect the harmony of life. This study explores religious moderation in the millennial generation from the perspective of Islamic education. This study uses the library research method in which the data comes from books, articles, and relevant scientific reports using the formulation of the problem. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. This study shows that religious moderation is not religious moderation, but there must be moderation in attitudes toward diversity. From an Islamic education perspective, religious moderation is developed by starting from oneself, being instilled early, and setting an example for others. Of course, it is hoped that tasamuh, commitment, humanist, and wasatiyah education will become integrated, whole, and universal, all of which cannot be separated, mutually reinforcing, and mutually beneficial, as the best ummah and with broad scientific insight.

Abstract

Ruangguru, one of Indonesia's prepaid applications, has facilitated autonomous learning for students. Ruangguru (henceforth RG) is a mobile application enhances online learning organizations by aligning it with Indonesia's curriculum. RG offered students a platform with distinctive characteristics to support online study in several subjects. The present study examines students' viewpoints on using Ruangguru, one of Indonesia's online learning prepaid platforms, and ascertains its advantages and disadvantages. The current study employed a qualitative methodology, utilizing interviews to collect data. The participants comprised senior high school students from several cities in Indonesia who were enrolled in regular classes, subscribed to RG, and willingly provided their consent by signing a consent form. The findings revealed that RG possesses several benefits, including the ability to set one's own pace, user-friendliness, independent learning, and a flexible platform. It allowed pupils to learn without any limitations on time or location. However, the RG was unable to substitute regular classes with the presence of teachers, the decrease of social interactions in learning, the significant disparity between the wealthy and the impoverished, and the diminishing role of teachers. Ruangguru's primary focus is students' academic achievement. Yet, it is crucial to resolve other notable aspects, such as inadequate feedback, teacher guidance, and lack of peer interaction. As a further recommendation, to evaluate the effectiveness of the RG, it is also recommended that students' achievement and the impact of using RG in the EFL classroom be analyzed and cross-referenced.

Abstract

Various problems that arise are caused by the school quality zoning system policy, low student learning motivation, and low student competence. The purpose of this study is to analyse the problems/inhibiting factors of the zoning system. This study uses the sequential mixed methods method, especially the sequential explanatory strategy. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the advantages of the zoning system are cheaper, such as cheaper student transportation costs to school, no discrimination against favourite schools, and encouraging teachers to be more creative in designing learning that is in accordance with student conditions, while the problems and supporters of the implementation of the zoning system in accepting new students. Some implications and recommendations obtained from this study. First, for the central government, considering that the competition for prospective students with the zoning system is getting tighter, the Central Government must adjust the existing provisions by reducing the percentage of the zoning system path and increasing the percentage of the achievement path. Second, the Provincial Government in determining the zone does not only refer to the distance between home and school but also needs to optimize the involvement of community leaders in determining the zone of each school.

Abstract

This study explores students’ perceptions of team-based project learning integrated with Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in an English Teaching Methodology class at Syiah Kuala University. The research framework, adapted from Kemendikbud, focuses on six key stages: questioning, designing, scheduling, monitoring, assessing, and evaluating. Data were gathered from 30 students through a structured questionnaire and analyzed quantitatively, using percentage and interval ranges to determine perceptions. The results show that students held overwhelmingly positive views of team-based projects, with mean scores consistently falling in the ‘Agree’ to ‘Strongly Agree’ categories. Students valued the collaborative nature of the projects, which helped them develop critical skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and time management. The integration of TPACK further enriched their learning experience by facilitating meaningful application of technology in teaching. These findings suggest that team-based projects, when integrated with TPACK and guided by a structured framework, can significantly improve learning outcomes in English language education. Future research should investigate the long-term impacts of these approaches and address potential implementation challenges to enhance their effectiveness.
