Abstract

This research seeks to create legitimate and practical teaching materials in the form of a module utilizing a realistic mathematics education approach focused on the topic of systems of linear equations in two variables. This study utilizes the research and development (RD) approach, specifically the Thiagarajan 4-D model, which consists of four stages: (1) definition, (2) design, (3) development, and (4) dissemination. We conducted the research at MTsN 1 Central Aceh. Two classes, each with high and moderate abilities, participated in the research. The trial analysis yielded the following findings: (1) Validity, as two experts validated the teaching materials; (2) Practicality, as demonstrated by an average implementation of the learning syntax exceeding 75%, an average student activity exceeding 75%, extremely positive student and teacher responses to the module, and a classification of the developed module as practical. According to the results of the students' learning tests, 15 students completed the requirements out of 19 students in the high-ability class, and 14 students completed the requirements out of 19 students in the medium-ability class. Consequently, we categorize the percentage of students who have met the requirements as excellent. The module created utilizing a realistic mathematics education technique for the topic of systems of linear equations in two variables for eighth grade is deemed viable, indicating it is both valid and practical.

Abstract

According to Bass and Avolio, there are four dimensions of transformational leadership. These dimensions include idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The application of the transformational leadership dimension in the setting of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia can help improve the quality of education and student character building in a holistic way. This systematic library review research focuses on trends in topics, research objects, and types of transformational leadership dimensions reviewed in scientific papers published in 2019–2024. The study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the application of the transformational leadership dimension to Islamic education in Indonesia over the past five years. Topics that associate quality education with the application of transformational leadership dimensions are most widely reviewed in scientific papers published in 2019–2024. The next finding is research related to the application of transformational leadership dimensions more effectively in the setting of MTs (junior high school). Idealized influence is the type of transformational leadership dimension most mentioned in the article on the implementation of the transformational leadership dimension in 2019–2024. Further researchers can undertake further studies on the implementation of the transformational leadership dimension on other related topics, setting up different institutions, and deeper exploration of the types of transformative leadership dimensions that can affect the performance of Islamic educational institutions as a whole.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has influenced all aspects of human life, including education. In the teaching and learning process, technology plays a crucial role in achieving learning objectives more effectively. Scratch is a simple coding platform that supports the development of students’ computational thinking and creativity. Teachers’ knowledge is essential for the effective implementation of such media. This study aimed to analyze elementary school teachers’ knowledge of Scratch learning media in public and private elementary schools in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Using a quantitative descriptive survey design, data were collected from 40 classroom teachers across Grades 1 to 6, selected purposively to represent diverse experiences and school types. A structured questionnaire with 15 items was distributed both online and offline to gather data on teachers’ knowledge, experience, and perceptions of Scratch. The collected data were validated and analyzed using descriptive statistics with SPSS version 25, including frequency and percentage distributions. The results revealed that 68% of teachers had never attended Scratch training, 20% had developed Scratch-based learning media, and 67% faced difficulties in creating their own media. However, 97% supported the integration of Scratch into the teaching process, and 95% expressed the need for Scratch as an alternative medium to enhance computational thinking and digital literacy. These findings highlight the importance of targeted training programs and institutional support to enhance teachers’ competence in using Scratch effectively in elementary classrooms.

Abstract

This study is about the implementation of religious moderation values in early childhood in Medan City. The study aims to determine the implementation policy of religious moderation, the process of internalizing the values of religious moderation and the achievement of internalization of religious moderation values in early childhood in Medan City. The methodology used in this study is qualitative by conducting interviews, observations and documentation and a combination with literature. The subjects of the study were RA and TK educational institutions selected purposively. The results of the study indicate that the implementation policy in educational institutions is based on internal and external policies. Internal is the implementation of religious moderation values carried out on the basis that it is God's command (religion) and on the basis that humans must indeed be moderate in their attitudes and ways of thinking. This implementation is termed theo-anthropocentric basis (divinity and humanity). As for externally, strengthening the implementation is carried out because there are indeed regulations or rules that require it. The process of internalizing religious moderation values carried out is by integrating learning through images, videos (animation and non-animation), and cultural and religious studies outside of school. The achievement is that early childhood is able to implement religious moderation with four indicators in the foundation phase. Theoretical-practical research recommendations; increasing insight into religious moderation in educational institutions is important to be done periodically.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyse the effectiveness of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy on the reading comprehension of eighth-grade students at SMPN 3 Luhak Nan Duo, compared to conventional strategies, and to examine the role of gender as a moderating variable. Using a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-tests, the findings revealed that the DRTA strategy was significantly more effective than the conventional strategy in enhancing students’ reading comprehension (p 0.01). Gender also influenced performance (p 0.05), with female students tending to score higher than male students. However, no significant interaction was found between strategy and gender (p 0.05), indicating that the effectiveness of DRTA applies equally across genders. These results suggest that DRTA is an effective strategy for enhancing students' reading comprehension in junior high schools, with practical implications for teachers to adopt more interactive and gender-responsive reading instruction

Abstract

Women's leadership in education is an interesting topic of study. Among the figures recorded in educational history is Rahmah El Yunusiyah through educational institutions. In the Minangkabau era, women were viewed as having a very low status; they were treated like objects that could be treated as one pleased, exchanged, and even inherited. In fact, the community at that time considered the birth of a daughter to be something shameful for the family, so they eliminated them by burying them alive. The research method used was field research, involving observation and interviews in the field related to educational concepts. The figures' acknowledgments and explanations of Rahmah's personality were then analyzed using descriptive analytical research. The data was then analyzed using qualitative methods. Rahmah El Yunusiah brought modern thinking to the world of education. The rector of al-Azhar, Sheikh Abdur Rahman Taj, who was very humble, greatly admired Rahmah El Yunusiah because she founded Diniyah Putri in Padang Panjang, which was the first school in the world specifically for girls. This school inspired the Rector of Al-Azhar to establish a faculty at his university specifically for women. The Rector also awarded the first Doctorate degree to Rahmah EL-Yunusiah for her knowledge, achievements, and dedication in fighting for women in the world of education. The results of the research show that: 1) According to Rahmah El-Yunusiah, education must have the same rights as men, women must reflect noble behavior/morals starting from home, love for the country and nation also starts from home. Women have a role in the household that requires four tendencies that they must embody, namely as mothers to their children, as educators, as lovers to their husbands, and as friends to their families. 2) As a leader of women, she desires prosperity for women, participating in community service and da'wah in an effort to promote good deeds and prevent evil. Women are not prohibited from participating in politics as long as their vision and mission are to fight for truth and the welfare of the general public.
