Journal of Indonesian Tourism, Hospitality, and Recreation (Jurnal Pariwisata, Perhotelan dan Rekreasi Indonesia) merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan dua keluaran (issues) dalam setahun pada bulan April dan Oktober. Redaksi juga turut mengundang para peneliti dan praktisi untuk dapat mengirimkan artikel berupa laporan hasil penelitian, pemikiran-pemikiran, maupun tulisan akademik, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan kepariwisataan, perhotelan dan rekreasi luar ruang. Perlu dipahami sebelumnya, artikel yang hendak dikirimkan merupakan artikel yang belum pernah dimuat atau dipublikasikan di jurnal berkala ilmiah lainnya.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPandemi Covid-19 di Indonesia memberikan dampak langsung terhadap industri pariwisata, khususnya industri perhotelan yang terpaksa tutup di Sumatera Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi pelayanan penerapan protokol kesehatan oleh staf Housekeeping dan Front Office dalam mengurangi risiko terpaparnya karyawan oleh tamu. Berdasarkan data PHRI Sumatera Barat sudah 50% hotel tutup, 30% melakukan kegiatan (50% dengan cara merumahkan karyawan dengan sistem unpaid dan 50% digaji), 20% lagi masih beroperasi dengan melakukan kegiatan katering dan menjual makanan siap saji, dan ada juga dengan cara menyewakan kamar untuk isolasi mandiri. Pandemi ini merupakan masalah yang serius, maka dari itu hotel wajib memiliki sumber daya manusia yang memiliki pemahaman baik mengenai ilmu Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) khususnya dalam Standar Operasional Prosedur penanganan tamu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskripsi kepada seluruh karyawan hotel Whiz Prime Padang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh dengan alat pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner untuk mengidentifikasi risiko. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelayanan penerapan protokol kesehatan oleh staf Housekeeping dan Front Office sudah baik namun masih ada yang perlu diperbaiki, dan luaran penelitian ini berupa pengembangan Standar Operasional Prosedur. Kata Kunci :  Covid-19, Hotel Whiz Prime Padang, Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja, Manajemen Risiko OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RISK MANAGEMENT AT WHIZ PRIME HOTEL IN PARTICIPATION TO PREVENT COVID-19 ABSTRACTCovid-19 in Indonesia gives a direct impact on the Indonesian tourism industry, particularly the hotel industry, which was forced to close in West Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to identify the implementation of health protocol services by housekeeping and front office staff in reducing the risk of employee exposure to guests. Based on West Sumatra PHRI data, 50% hotels have closed, 30% are carrying out activities (50% by laying off employees with an unpaid system and 50% are paid), 20% are still operating by catering and selling ready-to-eat food, and how to rent out a room for self-isolation. This pandemic is a serious problem, therefore the hotel needs to have human resources who have a good understanding of Occupational Safety and Health (K3), especially in the Standard Operating Procedure for guest handling to avoid local transmissions. In this study, the method used is descriptive analysis to all employees of the Whiz Prime Padang hotel. The data collection technique uses a saturated sample technique with a data collection tool in the form of a questionnaire to identify risks. The results showed that the service activities of implementing health protocols by the Housekeeping and Front Office staff were good, but there were still things that needed to be improved, and the outcome of this study was the development of standard operating procedures.Keywords:  Covid-19, Hotels, K3, Risk Management

Abstract

The development of the concept of Sports Tourism in Palembang in South Sumatra has been a government program; in this case, the Ministry of Tourism, Republic of Indonesia. The concept was developed for seeing the potential that exists among Jakabaring Sport City which is an integrated Smart Sports Eco Green Complex ". Not only the development of the concept, but the presence of community empowerment in the development of this concept includes three aspects, namely enabling, empowering and protecting. Meanwhile, Sports Tourism drives the economy inclusive because it is associated with some of the benefits that can be perceived by the public either directly or indirectly. Such benefits include transform and boost economic growth, income generation, and poverty reduction, as well as expanding access and opportunity. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach that is to carry out observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the development of Sport Tourism has a positive impact on the empowerment of local communities.Keywords: Community Empowerment, Sport Tourism, Inclusive Economy, South Sumatera

Abstract

ABSTRACTPasar Bunga Rawa Belong is the biggest Pasar Bunga in Southeast Asia, with revenue over 15 billion rupiahs per month, it is also a residential area of ethnic Betawi. Problem occurred in managing the development of the surrounding area which are the Government commitment in dealing with tourist destination concept, participation and public awareness of local people who are still low and incidental, the ability and capacity of each tourist destinations in accordance with its geographical condition, economic and local culture making it difficult to manage, stakeholders  participation and contribution are not yet optimal in the development of tourist destination, and the preliminary assessment on the profile and map of tourist destination has not been completed. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to analyze the potential of creative tourism products that can be used as a characteristic of Sambirejo Village. Jumputan Batik is one of the creative tourism products as a solution in the globalization era, which is derived from the creativity of Sambirejo villagers to meet the needs of tourists and increase tourist visits. The research is located in Rumah Batik Pak Jay Gedang Bawah Sub-Village. The data collection method was carried out by observation directly to the field and in-depth interviews with one of the Jumputan Batik craftsmen Pak Jay or Pak Mujimin who also served as Secretary of Sambirejo Village and other informants based on certain criteria in accordance with the focus of the research. The data analysis in this research is using descriptive analyses. The results showed that Jumputan Batik handicrafts can be developed into tourism creative products or souvenirs that can be marketed to tourists. Not only useful in terms of the economy for the local community, but tourists can also get a new experience by participating in the making of Jumputan Batik. Stakeholders also participated in mentoring tourism creative product potential development activities in Sambirejo Village. The potential of creative tourism products in Sambirejo Village is not only Jumputan Batik, but vegetable chips and souvenirs from natural stone waste can also be developed to the maximum. Keywords : Jumputan Batik, Tourism Product, Creative Industry, Creative Tourism

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine and analyze the influence of variables from e-WOM and promotion on decisions to stay at hotels throughout Malang. The population used is customers or consumers who have stayed at the hotel and who have the potential to stay at the hotel. This research uses quantitative research with a survey method through a questionnaire. The number of samples in this study was 100 respondents. This sample was taken in the period of December 2020. The analysis technique of this research used multiple linear regression. The test results of this study indicate that each of the e-WOM and Promotion variables has a positive and significant effect on the Decision to Stay at Hotels in Malang Raya. This test shows that the e-WOM variable has a dominant influence on the decision to stay overnight with the results of the beta statistical value in the t-test that is greater than the promotion variable. This condition shows that the better the e-WOM that is disseminated and an innovative promotional strategy will increase consumer decisions to stay at hotels throughout Malang. This study is different from other studies because in this study, we put the object of the research into all hotels in Malang, with a survey that was distributed to hotel customers who had stayed in several different hotels. Keywords: e-WOM, promotion, decision to stay overnight

Abstract

This study aimed at analyzing the elements of performance, the programme of performance, and the actual condition of tourism product in Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung. Performance is very important to create positive and negative experiences for the audience because it is presented to others. To find out whether the performing arts that are displayed are good, it necessary to have a response from tourists who watched the show. Problems arose in this research are as follows: 1) How are tourism products in Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung?;  2) How is the appearance in performing arts as a tourist attractions at Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung?; and 3) How is the quality of the tourist experience after seeing the performing arts at Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung. The purpose of this research is to find out tourism products, appearance in performing arts tourism attractions, and the quality of the tourist experience after saw the performing arts at Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung. The method used is a qualitative method. Interviews, observation, documentation and questionnaires are used as a technique data collection. At the same time, the data analysis technique uses a Likert scale. The result showed that some improvement in the products, appearance in performing arts tourism attractions, and the quality of the tourist experience are necessary to improve at Saung Angklung Udjo Bandung.Keywords: Performing Arts, Tourism Products, Tourist Experience

Abstract

The ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) flare-up as of late caused overall neurosis because of its lethal nature. The COVID-19 pandemic has a worldwide effect, even in Indonesia itself, where one of the sectors most affected is the tourism industry. One of them is in Samigaluh, which is a sub-region in the Kulon Progo Rule. This place has nearby potential, for example, common excellence that can be offered as a vacation spot and an open door for the encompassing network. This examination is to research the viewpoint of the supervisors of vacation destinations in Samigaluh to see the effect of their work career. This research uses a qualitative method. The exploration information was gathered from the supervisors of the travel industry attractions in Samigaluh, and ten inquiries were given to the chief. Thirty travel industry coordinator in Samigaluh partook in the survey. The results of this study indicate that the perspective of tourist attractions manager in Samigaluh as a whole sees the COVID-19 pandemic having a bad impact on the tourism industry in Samigaluh because job careers are threatened. Therefore, ensuring the safety of guests and staff have become a top concern of the tourism and hospitality industry stakeholders. At the same time, in order to restore business losses and to rebuild a favourable picture in the eyes of the customers, it is necessary that good marketing is undertaken and promotional campaigns, both locally and internationally.Keywords: COVID-19, Nature Tourism, Manager, Samigaluh

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine how Waaida Farm manages agro-tourism and to measure the impact of agro-tourism from the empowerment of the surrounding farmer's community. The Farm is located in Sumedang Regency and has natural potentials in agriculture and tourism which offers a unique experience. The concept of agro-tourism offers a medium for education, culture, promotion of local products, social, economic growth and community empowerment. With the existence of the Farm, the characteristics of the community have changed positively. The research method used is the case study and primary data were obtained from 30 farmers who work at agro-tourism. From the results of the paired t-student difference test ( Paired Sample T Test ) it can be concluded  that Agro-tourism has a positive impact on the empowerment of the surrounding community not only from increasing participation, but also independence and accessibility for farmers community.Keywords: Agro-tourism, Community Empowerment

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to see the effect of perceptions received by tourists visiting intention to Toba Lake, Samosir Regency. A quantitative approach method was used by using statistical data in multiple regression analysis. The population was domestic tourists and the sample was 325 respondents who were obtained using random sampling techniques. The results were divided into (1) a significant effect and positive destination accessibility and simultaneously on the intention in tourist visits 2) the ability of the independent variables in explaining the related variables was 53.8% the remaining 46.2% from other variables not discussed in this study 3) the influence of accessibility variable on tourists' visiting intention is strong. From these results it can be concluded that accessibility according to the Apollo concept needs to be improved by the manager of tourist destinations at Toba Lake because the role of accessibility affects the intention to visit tourists to Toba Lake. Keywords: Real Accessibility, Destination Accessibility, and Visiting Intention

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja perempuan di industri perhotelan khususnya di departemen tata graha (housekeeping)  sebagai room maid, karena isu kesetaraan gender masih menjadi tantangan di seluruh dunia. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh room maid berjumlah sepuluh (10) orang yang bekerja di Holiday Inn Express Jakarta Wahid Hasyim. Metode penelitian ini adalah kombinasi pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diukur menggunakan kuesioner penilaian kinerja staff yang dinilai oleh 3 orang atasan (2 supervisor dan 1 executive housekeeper) dengan skala likert. Sedangkan data kualitatif yakni observasi dan wawancara dengan tamu dan atasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Room Maid memiliki kinerja yang baik berdasarkan penilaian atasan dari 4 (empat) indikator kinerja yaitu kualitas kerja, kuantitas kerja, tanggung jawab, inisiatif, dan kerjasama. Indikator tanggung jawab memiliki nilai tertinggi, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kinerja room maid dapat diandalkan. Secara keseluruhan tamu juga puas atas layanan yang diberikan room maid selama menginap. Penelitian ini yang menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dapat disetarakan dengan laki-laki meskipun pada pekerjaan yang didominasi aktifitas fisik. Hal ini berarti perempuan juga memiliki potensi yang sama untuk duduk di posisi manajerial suatu organisasi. Implikasi praktis dalam penelitian ini adalah saran bagi para manajemen di industri perhotelan untuk dapat memberikan kesempatan lebih luas kepada perempuan dikarenakan memiliki kinerja yang dapat diperhitungkan. Limitasi penelitian ini adalah hanya menganalisis kinerja room maid maka dari itu, penelitian lebih lanjut dapat menguji sampel yang lebih luas dan di lokasi yang berbeda. Kata Kunci: Kesetaraan Gender, Perempuan, Perhotelan, Pariwisata, Room Maid, Housekeeping WOMEN AT HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY: ROOM MAID PERFORMANCE OF HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS JAKARTA WAHID HASYIM ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the performance of women in the hotel industry especially in the housekeeping department as room maid because the issue of gender equality is still a challenge around the world. The sample in this study were all ten (10) maid room people who worked at the Holiday Inn Express Jakarta Wahid Hasyim. This research method is a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data were measured using a staff performance appraisal questionnaire which was assessed by 3 superiors (2 supervisors and 1 executive housekeeper) with a Likert scale. Meanwhile, qualitative data is observation and interviews with guests and superiors. The results showed that Room Maid has a good performance based on the superior's assessment of 4 (four) performance indicators, namely work quality, work quantity, responsibility, initiative, and cooperation. The responsibility indicator has the highest value, this shows that the performance of the room maid is reliable. Overall guests are also satisfied with the services provided by the room maid during their stay. This research shows that women can be equal to men even in physical activity tasks. This means that women also have the same potential to have equal position in managerial level. The practical implications of this research are suggested to the management in hospitality industry in providing wider opportunities for women because they are reliable. The limitation of this study is that it only analyzes the performance of the room maid.
