Abstract

The presence of Christians in Wandamen Bay, whose life is orderly and peaceful, causing old people in Waropen asked the Dutch to also spread the gospel in their village. Some teachers of the gospel is then sent to Waropen. The purpose of this paper is to determine the religious system Waropen before the entry of Christianity, chronology and impact evangelism and missionary history remains in Waropen, especially in Nau village and Waren village. The research method used is the historical method. Evidence remains, the early history of the spread of the gospel remains can still be found on the island of Nau and Waren, Waropen.AbstrakAdanya orang-orang Kristen di Wandamen Papua, yang hidupnya teratur dan penuh kedamaian, menyebabkan orang-orang tua di Waropen meminta kepada Belanda agar Injil juga disebarkan di kampung mereka. Beberapa guru injil kemudian dikirim ke Waropen. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui sistim religi orang Waropen sebelum masuknya agama Kristen, kronologi pekabaran Injil serta dampak dan tinggalan sejarah pekabaran injil di Waropen, khususnya di Kampung Nau dan Kampung Waren. Metode penelitian yang gunakan adalah metode sejarah. Bukti tinggalan-tinggalan sejarah awal penyebaran injil masih dapat ditemukan di Pulau Nau dan Waren, Waropen.

Abstract

Prehistoric featured life is still found in Dani tribe society who inhabit Baliem valley in the mountainous area of central Papua. The tribe’s simple life still maintain their gathered way of life. They live their nomadic cultivating while using sheer technology such as stone, digging stick and spade. In their cultivation activities, The Danis share strict rules between their male and female members. Men obliged to open new land, to build fench and shed, while women binded to do plantation until harvesting which makes women time are spent mostly in the field.The Danis livelihood is so affected by environment and kinship factors in governancing and managing land, social strata in task division between men and women, and also their belief in their anchestor’s spirits which can bring about fortune and prosperity.

Abstract

Burial conducted Ngalum tribe in earlier times, was the body buried in a hollowed out tree, and burial in caves or large gravel pit. archaeological explorations in the Star Mountains District found two caves in Oksibil District are: Cave Mendalbuk in Kampung Kabiding which functioned as a burial cave, and 1 piece of a niche in the alcove Angsamok Serambakon District Villages Wambakon which functioned as a burial niche.

Abstract

The knowledge of making pottery in Abar Village has been around since time immemorial. Until now Abar pottery development has undergone many changes. Artisan pottery in Abar Village is determined to continue to improve the quality of production in order to compete in the market. Based on this the authors feel interested to examine more about the development of pottery tradition in Abar Village. The purpose of this research is to know the development of shape, type, function and meaning of pottery Abar. The research method is qualitative, while for the strategy in the data collection phase is literature study, observation and interview. The results: found types of pottery Abar is ebe hele (crock), sempe (belanga) and kenda / plate, and pottery that has undergone changes namely: flower pots, wall hangings, drums, table chairs, stoves. Abar pottery has three functions: function as a kitchen tool, social function and religious function.  ABSTRAKPengetahuan pembuatan gerabah di Kampung Abar sudah ada sejak dahulu kala. Hingga saat ini perkembangan gerabah Abar sudah mengalami banyak perubahan. Pengrajin gerabah di Kampung Abar bertekad untuk terus meningkatkan kualitas produksi agar mampu bersaing di pasaran. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penulis merasa tertarik untuk mengkaji lebih jauh mengenai perkembangan tradisi gerabah di Kampung Abar. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui perkembangan bentuk, jenis, fungsi dan makna gerabah Abar. Metode penelitian bersifat kualitatif, sedangkan untuk strategi dalam tahap pengumpulan data adalah studi pustaka, observasi dan wawancara. Adapun hasil: ditemukan jenis-jenis gerabah Abar berupa ebe hele (tempayan), sempe (belanga) dan kenda/ piring, serta gerabah yang sudah mengalami perubahan yaitu: pot bunga, hiasan dinding, tifa, kursi meja, kompor. Gerabah Abar memiliki tiga fungsi yaitu: fungsi sebagai alat dapur, fungsi sosial dan fungsi religius.

Abstract

Rooted cultural habits passed down through the generations since the common ancestor to the present. Results of prehistoric human culture found within the site Ngebung Sangiran, composed of bone tools and stone tools. Both of these findings will be the subject matter discussed in this paper with the aim to rescue and add data as well as the latest information. In addition, this study also wanted to find out the similarities and differences between the characteristics of the research findings in 2013 to 2014. Based on the survey and excavation team Preservation Hall Ancient Man Site (BPSMP) Sangiran in 2013 and 2014, it is known that bone tools were found is a type of spatula and lancipan , while the stone tools consist of shale and shaved. Overall the study found as many as 2 pieces of bone tools and stone tools 63 pieces.ABSTRAKBudaya berakar dari kebiasaan yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun sejak nenek moyang hingga sekarang. Hasil budaya manusia prasejarah yang ditemukan di situs Ngebung dalam kawasan Sangiran, terdiri dari alat tulang dan alat batu. Kedua temuan tersebut akan menjadi pokok masalah yang dibahas dalam tulisan ini dengan tujuan untuk penyelamatan dan menambah data serta informasi terbaru. Selain itu penelitian ini juga ingin mengetahui persamaan serta perbedaan karakteristik temuan antara penelitian pada tahun 2013 dengan 2014. Berdasarkan survei dan ekskavasi tim Balai Pelestarian Situs Manusia Purba (BPSMP) Sangiran tahun 2013 dan 2014, diketahui bahwa alat tulang yang ditemukan merupakan tipe spatula dan lancipan, sedangkan alat batu terdiri dari serpih dan serut. Secara keseluruhan penelitian menemukan alat tulang sebanyak 2 buah dan alat batu 63 buah.

Abstract

Papua is a place which is potential to have variety of cultural heritage of megalithic, and it spreads over the Papua. The megalithic tradition has been in this area since the prehistory period, even this it is continuing until today. The influence of this culture in Papua came from the west side through Sulawesi, Maluku and finally reached to Papua. Moreover, from the north side, it came through the Mikronesia area, Melanesia dan then arrived to Papua. The culture of megalithic is believed that it is influnced by the Austronesia people. The forms of megalithic in Papua include the terraces stone, mareuw, stone pole, ainining duka, mortar stone, sharpening stone, stone path, soul path, stone enclosure, megalithic archa, woming stone, throne stone, menhir (standing stone), table stone (dolmen), engraving stone, carving stone, totor, and turtle stone. This discovery of megalithic culture is related with the religious activity dan the other social cuture activities. AbstrakPapua merupakan salah satu wilayah yang memiliki potensi keberadaan tinggalan budaya megalitik yang cukup banyak dan beragam bentuknya, lokasinya tersebar hampir di seluruh wilayah tersebut. Kehadiran tradisi megalitik di wilayah ini, sudah ada sejak zaman prasejarah, bahkan di beberapa tempat di Papua tradisi megalitik masih berlangsung hingga kini. Pengaruh budaya megalitik di wilayah Papua datang melalui dua jalur yaitu jalur barat melalui daerah Sulawesi, Maluku, hingga sampai ke Papua. Sedangkan jalur utara melalui wilayah Mikronesia, Melanesia, dan sampai ke Papua. Keberadaan budaya megalitik di Papua sebagai salah satu bentuk pengaruh dari bangsa Austronesia. Bentuk-bentuk tinggalan megalitik di wilayah Papua berupa bangunan berundak, mareuw, tiang batu, ainining duka, lumpang batu, batu asah, jajaran batu, jalan arwah, batu temugelang, area megalitik, batu peringatan, tahta batu, menhir, dolmen, batu bergores, pahatan batu, totor, dan batu teteruga. Temuantemuan tinggalan budaya tradisi megalitik tersebut berkaitan erat dengan aktivitas religi dan aktivitas sosial budaya lainnya.
