Abstract

Moluccas and of Papua, geographically bunch up and have potency of good natural resource. In Region Moluccas, standing centers power of Islam which consist of Ternate, Tidore, Bacan and Jailolo (Moluko Kie Raha). History note, extension of power of Islam from one of the empire of that Islam till to region of Papua. Archaeological data also prove the existence of influence of Islam in region of Papua. Extension of Moluccan Islam to Papua, representing the effort which braid to braid with activity of trading. Of Moluccas region till to Papua, woke up by economic zona to strengthen and formation of trade network, at the same time as effort maintain and widen power of Islam.

Abstract

such as the burial niche activity that is closely related to the religious system supportingcommunity. The purpose of this study to remove the entire cultural information buriedso as to address concerns about human and supporting culture sites. This is adescriptive study with a form of inductive reasoning and qualitative approaches, aswell as the environmental approach. Artifacts results of excavations in the KampungTua Padwa describe diversity of human cultural activities supporting, ie fi shermenwho exploit ocean and also perform activities of hunting, gathering, and farming aswell as making equipment supporting livelihood activities such as stone tools, bonetools, and tools shellfi sh. In addition there are artifacts of pottery as a tool to processand store food. This is an object of cultural artifacts that appear and thrive in theplant or neolithic period, ie a period which is identical to the Austronesian speakerswho are the creators of the cultural work.ABSTRAKPada masa prasejarah di kompleks situs Kampung Tua Padwa telah terjadibanyak peristiwa budaya seperti aktivitas penguburan ceruk yang erat kaitannyadengan sistem religi masyarakat pendukungnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untukmengangkat seluruh informasi budaya yang terkubur sehingga dapat menjawabpermasalahan tentang manusia dan kebudayaan pendukung situs. Penelitian inibersifat deskriptif dengan bentuk penalaran induktif dan pendekatan kualitatif, sertapendekatan lingkungan. Artefak hasil ekskavasi di kompleks situs kampung TuaPadwa menggambarkan ragam aktivitas budaya manusia pendukungnya, yaitunelayan yang mengeksploitasi hasil laut dan juga melakukan aktivitas berburu,mengumpul, dan bercocok tanam serta membuat peralatan penunjang kegiatanmatapencahariannya seperti alat-alat batu, alat tulang, dan alat kerang. Selain ituterdapat artefak tembikar sebagai alat mengolah dan menyimpan makanan. Atrefakini merupakan benda budaya yang muncul dan berkembang pada masa bercocoktanam atau masa neolitik, yaitu suatu masa yang sangat identik dengan penuturAustronesia yang adalah pencipta karya budaya tersebut.

Abstract

Seram island is the largest island in Mollucas propinves, which is a many differences tribe was live in it. Alune and Wemale is the biggest tribe in Seram island, also there’s other tribe beside it. The other tribe we can found it Seram island is from Bali, Buton, Bugis, Jawa, etc. Patasiwa and Patalima is a part of society group in Seram island are very famous, further this group Patasiwa and Patalima always fighting one to each other, just for depend there land. Patalima group is very polite, and very kind for anybody who come to island for living, especially for a guess, Patasiwa is opposite. Patasiwa territorial from south to west seram island, Patalima territorial from north to east seram island. For both group Patasiwa and Patalima always war, so many people they migration out of the siklus war for get a good living and future, from south to north. As well as Opin village and Besi village. The true is, this both village exactly in south seram.

Abstract

Shipping and trade Bugis - Makassar is one cultural phenomenon in the southern peninsula of Sulawesi rooted since archaic times . Shipping and trade to Papua as expressed in this paper relates to the early days of contact , commodity trading , and archaeological evidence of the existence of the Bugis - Makassar peramanen who live in this area as an intensive relationship implications . It aims to show to the networks - ‘s archipelago , in addition to showing the impact of a long-term relationship between the Bugis - Makassar and Papua which created solidarity and openness that have a place to settle in the local ethnic settlements together . To illustrate these aspects of archaeological survey and literature review , especially for archaeological evidence in the context of shipping and trade XVII - XIX centuries in the Bird’s Head region of Papua into the gate . Based on the data obtained concluded that the diaspora Bugis - Makassar to Papua unrelated to war factor, but purely an economic boost, especially for commodities and profitable market. In the long run some of the traders community decided to stay permanently, but not exclusive residential building.AbstrakPelayaran dan perdagangan Bugis-Makassar merupakan salah satu fenomena kebudayaan di semenanjung selatan Sulawesi yang berakar sejak zaman arkaik. Pelayaran dan Perdagangan ke Papua yang diungkap dalam tulisan ini berkaitan dengan masa awal kontak, komoditas dagang, dan bukti arkeologis adanya orang Bugis-Makassar yang tinggal secara peramanen di kawasan ini sebagai implikasi hubungan intensif. Hal ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan jejaring ke-Nusantara-an, selain menunjukkan dampak hubungan jangka panjang antara orang Bugis-Makassar dan Papua yang menimbulkan solidaritas dan keterbukaan sehingga mendapat tempat untuk menetap dalam pemukiman etnis lokal secara bersama-sama. Untuk menggambarkan aspek-aspek tersebut dilakukan survei arkeologis dan kajian pustaka, khususnya mencari bukti arkeologis dalam konteks pelayaran dan perdagangan abad XVII-XIX di wilayah Kepala Burung yang menjadi pintu gerbang Papua. Berdasarkan data-data yang diperoleh disimpulkan bahwa diaspora Bugis-Makassar ke Papua tidak terkait dengan faktor perang, melainkan murni dorongan ekonomi, terutama mencari dan memasarkan komoditas yang menguntungkan. Dalam jangka panjang beberapa diantara komunitas pedagang memutuskan tinggal secara permanen, tetapi tidak membangun pemukiman eksklusif.

Abstract

Studies on the site of the fort in West Papua has never been done. This paper aims to be able to know forts in West Papua, the importance and function of the fortress. The method used in this research is the field surveys, interviews and a literature review. Archaeological research find Yenbekaki fort, Usaha Jaya fort, Wayom fort, Claudia sacred fort, and Babo fort. Construction of the fort was based on the defense function and has values of local wisdom is with wear resources adapted to the local environment and the local topography.AbstrakKajian tentang situs benteng di Papua Barat belum pernah dilakukan. Tulisan ini bertujuan dapat mengetahui benteng-benteng yang ada di Papua Barat, nilai penting dan fungsi benteng tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam peneiitian ini adalah survei lapangan, wawancara dan kajian pustaka. Peneiitian benteng yang dilakukan di Papua Barat menemukan benteng Yenbekaki, benteng Usaha Jaya, benteng Wayom, benteng keramat Claudia, dan benteng Babo. Pembangunan benteng didasarkan pada fungsi pertahanan serta memiliki nilai kearifan lokal yaitu dengan memanfaaatkan sumberdaya iingkungan setempat dan disesuaikan dengan topografi setempat.

Abstract

Maluku and Papua are two areas with the specific characters that geogaphically slocated close to each other. As an archipelagic region Maluku has a dominant maritime background while Papua shows a large and complex continent profile. The specific character as a region has made Maluku became the part of an ecological terminal between Asia and Australia known as Wallacea. Papua, which was the part of Greater Australia Continent in the past, has the similar role as a main corridor to the Pacific. This similarity has made the role of these two region is important in the study of cultural history of Southeast Asia , Australia and the Pacific Islands. This paper is a short review to observe the connecting aspects of Maluku Archipelago and Papua as a border area in the study of regional archaeology.

Abstract

Rock art sites in the area of the cultural assets worth Kaimana high for the sake of history, science and culture, so it’s worth it if it is developed and utilized. It is also considering the condition of the site is supported with the surrounding natural beauty of the ocean and coral islands, as well as the charm, the expanse of the forest in karst area and village-village population is about. To optimize the potential of art rock then needs to be done the study development on rock art sites in the region, as a form of Kaimana policy implementation in the management of cultural heritage and its environment so that it can have an impact on the increase of living adequate for the present society (especially the local community) in the field of persons coming. Results of the survey has been conducted showing that in the process of development of tourism in the region need to involve local communities Kaimana as key stakeholders, both in the planning and implementation of policies in a bottom up, determined policy along community, as well as patisipasi actively involved in community development programs and support the development of business and economics which is the economic base of society, as well as the need to be supported by regulation as runway departure formally related protection, preservation and utilization of cultural objects.

Abstract

The tradition of making and using pottery has existed since prehistoric times, this tradition is also found in Ngrencak Village, Trenggalek Regency. The purpose of this research is to know Ngrencak traditional pottery technology and the impact of modem culture on Ngrencak pottery tradition. Data collection techniques used in ethnoarkeologi studies are direct communication or direct contact with the data provider or often referred to as interviews, observation, and literature study. Ngrencak pottery-making technique is made by hand combined with stitching technique and rotary wheel. Ngrencak pottery faces rival plastic containers. It also depends on market demand.  ABSTRAKTradisi pembuatan dan penggunaan gerabah sudah ada sejakzaman prasejarah, tradisi ini juga terdapat di Desa Ngrencak, Kabupaten Trenggalek. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui teknologi gerabah tradisional Ngrencak dan dampak budaya modern terhadap tradisi gerabah Ngrencak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam studi etnoarkeologi yaitu komunikasi langsung atau kontak langsung dengan pemberi data atau sering disebut dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Teknik pembuatan gerabah Ngrencak dibuat dengan tangan yang dipadukan dengan teknik tatap pelandas dan roda putar. Gerabah Ngrencak menghadapi saingan wadah plastik. Selain itu juga tergantung permintaan pasar.
