Abstract

This paper discusses about the archeologist settings on Penguasa-Penguasa Bumi novel that written by Don Richardson. This novel tells about Stan Dale and Yale people. Stan Dale is a missionary on Papua. He was effort to introduce the Jesus ’ rule in Yale’s life. This is a description method and the technique of this research is library research. The result of this research is to find most of the Dokwi Vam, Kuil Kembu, Yogwa, and Seimima on its archeologist setting.

Abstract

Ceramic plates are used as stock Napan Wainami grave by the community, the process is carried out in a funeral rite that is characterized by solving the ceramic plates on the tomb of the dead bodies. Form of burial rites is devoted to every firstborn of men and women. This rite describes the emotional relationship between parents (father and mother) and the eldest son, in which the eldest child in a family inheritance priority, so a form of homage to solve the ceramic plates should be done as an expression of affection. Associated with the description of the Objectives to be disclosed in this paper was to determine the shape and type of ceramic that is used in funeral rites and the meaning contained in the use of ceramics as stock grave. In answering the research objective research method used was etnoarkeologi approach, field surveys, interviews and a literature review.AbstrakPiring Keramik digunakan sebagai bekal kubur oleh masyarakat Napan Wainami, proses ini dilakukan dalam suatu ritus penguburan yang ditandai dengan memecahkan piring keramik diatas makam dari Jasad orang mati. Bentuk ritus penguburan ini dikhususkan untuk setiap anak sulung laki-laki dan perempuan. Ritus ini menggambarkan hubungan emosional antara orang tua (ayah dan ibu) dan anak sulung, dimana anak sulung mendapat prioritas dalam warisan keluarga, sehingga bentuk penghormatan dengan memecahkan piring keramik patut dilakukan sebagai ungkapan kasih sayang. Terkait dengan uraian tersebut maka Tujuan yang ingin diungkapkan dalam penulisan ini adalah mengetahui bentuk dan jenis keramik yang digunakan dalam ritus penguburan serta mengetahui makna yang terkandung didalam pemanfaatan keramik sebagai bekal kubur. Dalam menjawab tujuan penelitian maka metode penelitian yang gunakan adalah pendekatan etnoarkeologi, survei lapangan, wawancara dan kajian pustaka.

Abstract

Pottery artifacts distribution and language show that Austroneslan speakers mostly settle, do activity, and interact with indigenous Papua In the coastal. Sentani Lake area is located in north part of Papua, in which Sentani language belongs to the non-Austronesian (phylum Trans New Guinea). This study is aimed to reveal the influence of Austroneslan culture in Sentani Lake area through descriptive and qualitative methods. The data is gathered by conducting surface survey, environmental observation, and ethnoarchaeological approach. The influence of Austroneslan culture in Sentani Lake area is brought through the coastal communities in Vanimo, Altape, and East Sepik Papua New Guinea. Artifacts as the evidences showing the influence of Austroneslan culture am in the form of pottery, glass bracelet, glass beads, and bronze artifacts. It is also shown through a pottery making tradition, tattoo, alcoholic drink, leadership system, and the breeding of dog, pig, and chicken. AbstrakPersebaran artefak gerabah dan bahasa menunjukan penutur Austronesia lebih banyak bermukim, beraktivitas, dan berinteraksi dengan penduduk asli Papua di pesisir. Kawasan Danau Sentani terletak di pesisir utara Papua, bahasa Sentani tergoiong dalam bahasa non-Austronesia (phylum Trans New Guinea). Tuiisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh budaya Austronesia di Kawasan Danau Sentani. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpuian data dilakukan dengan survei permukaan tanah serta pengamatan lingkungan, serta perdekatan etnoarkeologi. Pengaruh budaya Austronesia di Kawasan Danau Sentani melaiui masyarakat pesisir di Vanimo, Aitape, dan Sepik Timur Papua Nugini. Aftefek yang menjadi bukti pengaruh budaya Austronesia yaitu gerabah, geiang kaca, manik-manik kaca, artefak pemnggu, Pengaruh iainnya yaitu tradlsi pembuatan gerabah, tradlsi tato, pembuatan minuman beralkohol, sistem kepemimpinan serta pemeiiharaan anjing, babi dan ayam.

Abstract

During this time knowledge about Homo erectus bones tool comes only from trusted Ngandong, but now it has a lot of bone tools found and published on the Site Pleistocene in Java. This paper is the result of a data-base processing using microscopic methods against all findings bone tools from sites Pleistocene in Java which aims to provide comprehensive information about the presence of bone tools. A total of 48 specimens of bone tools findings of Sangiran, Ngandong Site, Site Sambungmacan, Patiayam Site and Site Bringin. The analysis showed that there are 12 types of anatomical components of animal bones were used as tools. Type of animal bones were used as a bone tool is Cervus sp. (deer), Cervus hippelaphus (deer), Sus sp. (pig), Bos sp. (cow), Bibos palaeosondaicus (bull), rhinoceros (rhinoceros), Elephantidae (the elephants), and Bovidae. The technique used in making bone tools are broken techniques, pruning techniques, techniques sides, press techniques, and techniques rub. This type of tool is produced bone knife, lancipan, spatula, and spear AbstrakSelama ini pengetahuan tentang alat tulang Homo erectus hanya berasal dari Situs Ngandong, tetapi sekarang ini telah banyak alat tulang ditemukan dan dipublikasikan dari Situs Plestosen di Jawa. Tulisan ini merupakan hasil pengolahan data-base menggunakan metode mikroskopis terhadap semua temuan alat tulang dari situs-situs Plestosen di Jawa yang bertujuan memberi informasi komprehensif tentang keberadaan alat tulang. Sebanyak 48 spesimen alat tulang temuan dari Situs Sangiran, Situs Ngandong, Situs Sambungmacan, Situs Patiayam, dan Situs Bringin. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 12 jenis komponen anatomis binatang yang digunakan sebagai alat tulang. Jenis binatang yang tulangnya digunakan sebagai alat tulang adalah Cervus sp. (rusa), Cervus hippelaphus (rusa), Sus sp. (babi), Bos sp. (sapi), Bibos palaeosondaicus (banteng), rhinoceros (badak), elephantidae (gajah), dan bovidae. Teknik yang digunakan dalam membuat alat tulang adalah teknik pecah, teknik pangkas, teknik belah, teknik tekan, dan teknik gosok. Jenis alat tulang yang dihasilkan adalah pisau, lancipan, spatula dan mata tombak.

Abstract

Artifacts store messages from the past. An artifact is a reflection of human culture whose support the culture of using artifact. Similarly, artifacts found in Sokoliman’s Cultural Heritage which consist of megalithic objects. These artifacts have undergone a transformation; experienced manufacture, use, until the deposition. Today, these artifacts are in the midst of community and given a new meaning based on their own perspective. Giving meaning is closely related to the existence of sites community’s perspective. The meaning that given by community can be a reflection on the preservation of the site itself.

Abstract

Sarmi is one of the areas Japan has made as its defense base in World War II. The purpose of this paper is to know the existence of Japan in Sarmi and the remnants of Japanese heritage located in Tanjung Batu Village, East Sarmi District Sarmi District. The method used in this paper is oral history and uses literature review. Remains of Japanese relics in World War II were found in Kampung Tanjung Batu, Sarmi proving that Japan was once in Sarmi.  ABSTRAKSarmi merupakan salah satu wilayah yang dijadikan Jepang sebagai basis pertahanannya pada Perang Dunia II. Tujuan tulisan ini untuk mengetahui keberadaan Jepang di Sarmi dan sisa-sisa peninggalan Jepang yang terdapat di Kampung Tanjung Batu Distrik Sarmi Timur Kabupaten Sarmi. Metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah sejarah lisan dan menggunakan kajian pustaka. Sisa-sisa peninggalan Jepang pada Perang Dunia II ditemukan di Kampung Tanjung Batu, Sarmi yang membuktikan bahwa Jepang pernah berada di Sarmi.

Abstract

Kaimana kingdom led by the Rat Sr10an, means King of Sran or King of Commission. Initially this kingdom exists enough, but gradually fading effect, even more memorable. This article departs from the research that aims to describe the genesis of the King Sran, government and powers of the period before the entry of the Netherlands until the time of Dutch rule. The study revealed that the historical method Sran kingdom was established in 1309. The first named of Rat Sran king is Imaga who hold Nati Patimunin I. This kingdom migrate three times, namely from Patimunin, Adi Island, and the city of Kaimana. Sran kingdom until 1440 been progressing quite rapidly, but subsequently degraded power due to the inclusion of Tidore, a conflict between the royal family, as well as changes in the system of government after the entry of the Dutch government.ABSTRAKKerajaan Kaimana dipimpin oleh Rat Sran, berarti Raja Sran atau Raja Komisi. Awalnya kerajaan ini cukup eksis, namun lambat laun memudar pengaruhnya, bahkan semakin terlupakan. Artikel ini berangkat dari penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kembali asal usul Raja Sran, pemerintahan serta kekuasaannya dari masa sebelum masuknya Belanda hingga masa pemerintahan Belanda. Penelitian dengan metode sejarah mengungkapkan bahwa Kerajaan Sran berdiri tahun 1309. Raja pertama bernama Imaga yang bergelar Rat Sran Nati Patimunin I. Kerajaan ini berpindah tempat sebanyak tiga kali, yaitu dari Patimunin, Pulau Adi, dan Kota Kaimana. Kerajaan Sran hingga tahun 1440 mengalami perkembangan cukup pesat, namun selanjutnya mengalami degradasi kekuasaan akibat masuknya Tidore, konflik diantara keluarga kerajaan, serta perubahan sistim pemerintahan setelah masuknya pemerintah Belanda.
