Abstract

“Female’s fingers myth” is so believed by most female communities, especially Javanese ones. Fingers owned by them are described as their faithful with their husband. This belief is so strong that it impacts the violent action to them in most communities. This violence happens to both engage and married women. This phenomenon is often missed and hardly touched by law. It is because the violence happens to them is an oldest violence form, that most people view it as something common and proper. It is one of the supporting factors that the male’s superiority to female is imperishable. This perspective must be taken apart and reform soon in order that the gender bias does not happen, because the holy Qur’an as the Muslim’s guidance also does not teach that.

Abstract

Amin Abdullah introduced integrative-interconnective paradigm in State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in order to develop Islamic studies. The main character of this paradigm is the willingness to consider the visibility of various approaches form outside conventional Islamic sciences, mainly from social and humanistic approaches. This article intend to see the application of integrativeinterconnective paradigm in UIN Sunan Kalijaga through the doctoral disertation on hadith studies. Analysing the methodological aspect of the disertations, the article ends up to a notion that integrative-interconnective paradigm is reflected within nine of fourteen dissertation under discussion.

Abstract

Human beings’ greed in exploiting nature excessively happens because of two things. First, human beings focus on their function as leader more. Second, they lose their awareness that they should be responsible for their in the presence of God. This attitude surely will cause nature damage that it, finally, brings about ecological damage. Therefore, nature damage can be coped with Islamic spiritual values that are promoted by tasawuf. Some of them are zuhud, wara’, faqir, fana-baqa, wahdat al-wujud and insan kamil. By internalizing those teachings, someone will be able to control himself in utilizing nature and increase his awareness to maintain nature with love.

Abstract

Raison d’etre teologi Islam adalah tuntutan "realitassosial". Teologi seharusnya tidak hanya membahas konsepketuhanan melainkan refleksi kritis agama terhadappermasalahan sosial. Salah satunya adalah persoalan pluralitasagama di Indonesia. Islam dapat menjadi pijakan bagispiritualitas multikultural melalui pemahaman mendalamterhadap nilai-nilai etik fundamental yang dimiliki olehagama-agama sehingga menjadi entri point untuk mencarititik temu (kalimatun sawa)' sehingga dapat melahirkanmutual understanding diantara agama-agama. TeologiMultikultural sangat penting di jaman kontemporer ini karenapluralitas telah menjadi keniscayaan. Selain itu berguna untukmenghadapi berbagai fenomena keagamaan di masa depanyang ditandai oleh konflik-konflik dengan mengatasnamakanagama. Meskipun agama bukan satu-satunya faktor namunjelas sekali bahwa pertimbangan keagamaan dalam konflikkonflikitu dalam ekskalasinya banyak memainkan peran.Raison d’être of Islamic theology is a “social reality” demand.Theology should not only discuss about the concept of Godbut also reflect the religion critically with the social problems.One of them is plurality of religion in Indonesia. Islam can bemade as foundation to multicultural of spirituality throughdeep understanding of ethic values owned by many religion inIndonesia so that it become an entry point to find the meetingpoint (the same word) that can bring about mutualunderstanding among the religions. Multicultural theology isvery important in this contemporary time because pluralityhas become a must. Besides, it is also useful to face manyreligious problems in the future like conflicts on behalf ofreligion. Even though religion is not the only factor, it is soclear that religious justification in those conflicts plays animportant role.

Abstract

Fokus artikel ini adalah fungsi simaan al-Qur’an bagi santri-mahasiswa Pondok Pesantren Sunan Pandanaran (PPSPA), Sleman, Yogyakarta. Paradigma yang digunakan untuk menganalisis subjek penelitian adalah fungsionalisme Bronislaw Malinowski. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi-partisipatoris, wawancara, dan dokumentasi data literer. Dalam artikel ini saya menyimpulkan bahwa simaan al-Qur’an bagi santri-mahasiswa PPSPA tidak hanya sekedar memilki fungsi religi. Lebih jauh, simaan al-Qur’an bagi santri-mahasiswa PPSPA merupakan sistem kebudayaan yang memiliki unsur-unsur yang sangat kompleks. Kompleksitas unsur-unsur tersebut sejalan dengan ragam fungsinya, baik sosial, kebudayaan, ekonomi, politik-kuasa, promosi, dan pendidikan. Antarunsur dan antarfungsi tersebut tidak dapat dipisahkan dan saling terikat satu sama lain. Sehingga, aktivitas simaan al-Qur’an sebagai sebuah sistem kebudayaan memiliki fungsi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan psiko-biologis para santri-mahasiswa dalam menjalani kehidupannya.   Kata Kunci: PPSPA, simaan al-Qur’an, kebudayaan, dan fungsionalisme.

Abstract

Paradigma Integrasi-interkoneksi meniscayakan penggunaan pendekatan-pendekatan baru dalam studi Islam, termasuk studi al-Qur’an. Semiotika adalah salah satu pendekatan modern dan post-modern yang belakangan digemari. Artikel ini berniat melihat prinsip-prinsip semiotika dan bagaimana contoh penerapannya dalam studi al-Qur’an. Pendekatan ini dipandang bisa memberikan perkembangan bagi teori Asma’ al-Qur’an yang sejauh ini terlihat stagnan. Pendekatan ini berpotensi membawa teori tersebut ke arah yang lebih progresif, yaitu sebagai self-identity al-Qur’an.

Abstract

This paper is to analyze the causes of different opinions emerge regarding the provision of false labels, zindîq, pantheism, and similar for the teachings of Hamzah Fansuri’s wujûdiyah, so that it should be prior studies in accordance with the nature wujûdiyah itself with Sufi’s taught that institutionalized in the literary works with hermeneutic approach. Further, this research studies on the basis of what scholars have criticized this Sufi‘s teachings wujûdiyah and vice versa, on the basis of what scholars have given their support to this teaching

Abstract

In the terms of gender and sexuality, homosexual often has been accused as part of western culture, since Indonesian culture—and Islam—reputedly said it was aganist the western culture that uphold the freedom in many ways. Islam rejected the existence of homosexual. However there were some of them whom is born and raised in the islamic educational environments like Pesantren or islamic universities. This phenomena has become paradox from that thesis which lesbianism is not born from the womb of western culture. Even lesbianism itself is created by their own relational ideas. How the lesbians constructing religiousity over aganist the rigidity of textual commentation is the main question in this journal. And it has been founded that the lesbians feels their sexual orientation differences from early stage. That different kind of perception become their basis of behavior and interpreting life itself. Thus, their construction of religious commentary is not exactly similar with the majorities.

Abstract

Different interpretation of prophetic narrative on the prohibition and allowance of hadith writing had brought about negative perception of Orientalist that leaded to a conclusion to refuse using hadith as hujjah. Ignaz Goldziher, Hungarian Jewish, thought that most hadith could not be warranted, its originality (or counterfeit), therefore, they could not be information sources of the early history of Islam. According to him, hadith is more meant as a reflection of many currents interaction and conflict, and latter tendency in mature period, rather than a historical document of the early development of Islam. It means, to him, hadith is a product of Islamic community that lived several centuries after the prophet Mohammed, not originally from him. This opinion had been opposed by a number of Islamic experts, like Syaikh Musthafa as-Siba’I, and Abd al-Ghani Abd al-Khaliq.

Abstract

Islam adalah agama universal dan komprehensif. Universal artinya bahwa Islam ditujukan untuk semua umat manusia di bumi dan dapat diterapkan setiap saat hingga berakhirnya waktu. Satu aspek penting yang berkaitan dengan hubungan manusia adalah ekonomi. Paham ekonomi Islam memiliki prinsip yang diturunkan dari Al-Qur’an dan Hadist. Ekonomi Islam sebagai disiplin ilmu memiliki pondasi epistimologi. Epistimologi ekonomi Islam berarti tinjauan sumber ekonomi Islam termasuk metodologi dan kebenaran ilmiah. Epistimologi Islam sebagai langkah awal untuk mendiskusikan subjek filosofi pengetahuan. Pada sisi lain, epistimologi Islam berpusat pada Tuhan, dalam pengertian Tuhan sebagai sumber pengetahuan dan sumber kebenaran. Sisi yang lain, epistimologi Islam berpusat pada manusia, dalam pengertian manusia sebagai aktor pencari pengetahuan (kebenaran).
