This study used a quasi-experimental method using a 2x2 factorial design. Data analysis techniques used variant Analysis (ANOVA) at a significant level of α = 0.05. The subject of this research was the table tennis athlete at Silaberanti club, Palembang, South Sumatra. The results of this study show: there is the influence of high swing dumbbell training method and push-ups on the results of the accuracy of the forehand smash in table tennis at Silaberanti club, Palembang, there is no difference in influence between athletes who have a short arm and long arm category on the results of the forehand smash in table tennis at Silaberanti club, Palembang, there is an interaction effect between the method of high swing dumbbell training and push-up with arm length on the results of the accuracy of the forehand smash in table tennis at Silaberanti club, Palembang. Suggestions for sports coaches can be to use the dumbbell hight swing training method and push-ups for arm muscle power by combining strength at speed, and for similar studies can develop further research with broader coverage.

Abstract

This research was motivated by lack of explosive power on male fighters of Pencak Silat Terlat Sakti Club Bengkulu, which resulted in the lack of maximum speed in doing a side kick. The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze: the differences in the influence of single-leg hurdle hop and single-leg bounding plyometric exercises towards the speed of side kick, the differences in the influence between fighters who have high and low leg flexibility towards the speed of side kick, and the interactions between plyometric exercises and leg flexibility towards the speed of side kick. This study uses an experimental design with a 2x2 factorial design. The data analysis technique uses Analysis of Variants (Anova) with a significance level (α) of 0.05. The independent variables of this study are the plyometric exercise. High and low leg flexibility considered as attribute variables and the dependent variable is the speed of side kick. The results of this study reveal that: there is a difference in the speed of the side kick on the fighter given in single-leg hurdle hop training with the fighter given in single leg bounding training, there is a difference in side kick speed on fighters who have high leg flexibility with fighters who have low leg flexibility. Thus, it can be concluded that plyometric exercises, as well as leg flexibility, significantly influence the side kick speed on male fighters of Pencak Silat Terlat Sakti Club Bengkulu.

One of the appropriate sports for the elderly is elderly exercises. The exercises require low-impact movement but still can stimulate heart-lungs work, so it is suitable for the condition of the elderly. This study aims to analyze the effect of exercises and gender on cardiorespiratory endurance. This experimental research employed a 2x2 factorial design. There were 20 older adults from Keluarga Harapan Program selected as the sample, and the technique of data collection was purposive sampling. Subsequently, the sample was divided into four experimental groups. The technique of data analysis employed Two Way Anova. The results of the study are, first: Sang Surya and Lansia Bugar exercises affect the cardiorespiratory endurance (Fvalue = 17.308 > Ftable = 3.59). Lansia Bugar exercise is better than Sang Surya exercise. Secondly, there is an effect of gender between male and female on the cardiorespiratory endurance (Fvalue = 56.077 > Ftable = 3.59). Male older adults affected cardiorespiratory endurance more than the female. Thirdly, there is an interaction of exercises and gender on the cardiorespiratory endurance (Fvalue = 22.231 > Ftable = 3.59). The conclusion of this study is exercises and gender affect cardiorespiratory endurance so that they can maintain the health and fitness of older adults.
