Abstract

Individual performance in the organization is influenced by many factors, such as work satisfaction and culture within the organization. Besides that, work satisfaction have a positif correlation with individual performance. The more satisfy a worker with his/her work, the bettter his/her individual performance that make them to be more productive. Organizational culture influence which strategy that will be implemented by an organization to respond to the changes within or outside the organization. The more capability of an organization to respond to changes, the better the organization itself.

Abstract

The importance of character education is a wisdom of value diversity and social live culture. To achive the goal, the education system in school has developed three sub systems,namely, administration, instruction, and pupil/ student personal service. Guidance andcounseling program is from pupil/ student personal service. Strengthening charactereducation can be realized through the management of Islamic guidance and counseling.According to management concept, implementation of guidance and counselingmanagement isone of the manivestation of systematic program on how to plan guidanceand counseling activity, how to lead human resource in the organization in order toachieve the goal, how to control the activity of guidance and counseling, andhow toevaluate it. Therefore, the management of Islamic guidance and counselingcan achievethe education goal exspecially in strengthening education character.

Abstract

This article is aimed at describing the competition as well as the development strategy of the Islamic Kindergarten “Al-Irsyad” as one of competitive Islamic early childhoodeducation institution in Purwokerto. The purpose is to find the pattern of the developmentstrategy of the competitive Islamic early childhood education institution. This sort ofinstitution is expected to be able to compete in achieving righteousness in line with Islamicteachings dedicated to the community. This can be done if the Islamic early childhoodeducation institutions promote competitive excellent service. Furthermore, the rationalelies behind the idea of competitive Islamic early childhood education institutions is togenerate competitive advantage within Islamic early education institutions, to improvecommunity’s loyalty as served customer, to create Islamic early childhood institutionswhich are able to outweigh their competitors while at the same time upholding ethics,as well as Islamic virtues.

Abstract

A qualified education is an education which is able to develop nation character as well as civilization. Therefore, the values of faith, obedience, piousness, virtuous acts, healthiness, knowledge, competence, creativity, self-reliance, democracy and responsibility should be strengthened within educational institutions including students and stakeholders. Nowadays, most schools superficially develop some of the educational aspects, such as, cognitive dimension that is taught through memorizing and psychomotor dimension which is merely a mechanistic process. Meanwhile, other dimensions, such as relational dimension, are not handled properly. Ideally, a qualified school should be able to develop cognitive dimension, not only as a memorization but also as knowledge mastery suitable to students’ capacity as well as their endowment. From this phenomenon, I tried to offer a concept of implementation and development of Islamic education within strategic management framework related to teaching-learning process both in formal and non- formal schools. The aim is to fortify students so that they will keep holding onto Qur’an, Hadits, Ijma’ and Qiyas in this global era. Core concept of the strategic management in Islamic education is indeed still novel. Therefore, it is expected that this article can be used in broader area of Islamic education. Moreover, it is also hoped that it will positively affect resources allotment effectiveness in order to achieve the objective of national education. One way is through SWOT analysis, so that institutions of the Islamic education will be able to produce well-qualified graduates who play significant roles in society.

Abstract

This paper is intended to express the concept and dynamics of curriculum change of Pondok Pesantren Universitas Islam Indonesia. The importance of the problem discussed is related to curriculum that is used by Pondok Pesantren as one of the foundations of the development of Islamic educational institutions that would potentially affect the development of Islamic education in Indonesia in general. The concept of curriculum which is applied does not follow the national curriculum that is used at school or college. The result of the research showed that there is a change in the destination and setting of the curriculum of Pondok Pesantren Universitas Islam Indonesia that referred to Universitas Islam Indonesia’s aim to be World Class University. The change affected the content of the curriculum, teaching materials, and the learning methods. A change impact on the activity of students who are not only prepared to be a mujtahid, but more geared to hone the ability of thinking and researching.

Abstract

The implementation of Presidential Decree number 8 year 2012 about Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) and Act number 14 year 2005 about teacher and lecturer, requires reorganization and qualification development of the higher education institution which run a program for education and administratif staf education (LPTK) as well as all instruments within it. Course changing as an academic effort in the education institution should be designed sistematically by considering the constitution as well as to accomdate the needs. This research is a qualitatif research using careful tracing toward various documents related to the transformation of the course Integrative Teaching Experience and Community Service (PPL KKN) into Internship II in the Faculty of Tarbiyah and education, as well as interview, documentation, and observation to the transformation process. Researcher used triangulation technique to check the data validity. The research shows that the transformation of course Integrative Teaching Experience and Community Service (PPL-KKN) into PLP II covers the vision and mision, aim, advantage, outline changes, organiser, implementation mechanism, and evaluation.

Abstract

People views on the role of education in pesantren has shifted over years. Previously, people thought that pesantren education was the second class. However, the profile of pesantren alumni and their contribution in various aspects of leadership in societies has proven that pesantren education contribute to nation development. People believe that pesantren is not an alternative education institution, but the major education provider to graduate well qualified human resources with leadership skill, as well as mastering both emotional and spiritual intelligent (ESQ). Besides essential to improve human development index of a country, ESQ is a pivotal element for a leader. This is in line with the argument of this paper that pesantren education even in this globalized era is able to produce the prospective leaders rich with relevant skills and intellectuality as well as deep understanding of kitab kuning (yellow book) as the classical Islamic intellectual literature and tailor it with modern science and technology. In turn, pesantren is able to groom well qualified, dignified, and have strong morality of prospective leaders in the globalized era.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the concept of Sadd adz-Dzarâi and its implementation toward the concept of Islamic Education Management. This research would be beneficial to enrich scientific discussion on how to marry the concept of Islamic education management interact with Sadd adz-dzarâi, a concept in Ushul Fiqh. Using library research, this paper investigates ushul fiqh books and Islamic education management books to examine ushul fiqh’s concept and its implementation toward education management. This study found that the two concepts is compatible to certain extent as both concern on anticipating the possibility of losses in Islamic education institutions in the future.

Abstract

This research aims at investigating the role of zakat as an alternative means to fund education. Zakat is God’s command with dual functions, as a means of worship and social responsibility. Zakat could be spent to fund activities for the purpose of following Allah’s path (fi sabilillah). Yusuf Qardawi argues that ‘fi sabilillah’ is a form of jihad in the way of Allah. Whereas jihad in this sense covers struggle for education (tarbawi). This study utilizes Tafsir Ilmy approach to understand the interpretation of zakat for educational fund, while then enrich the data through a qualitative research. The data was gathered using observation, interviews, and documentation. The study begins by examining the interpretation of the Qur’an shura At Taubah (9): 60 according to a number of muffasirs and used it as the bedrock to analyse how zakat could become an alternative source for fund in education implemented in Masjid Darussalam Permatabiru Cinunuk. The research found that in Darussalam mosque, zakat function as scholarship fund namely Darussalam Scholarship (Dharso) which was given to four students to account for their study at university.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the leadership style of school principle of Tunas Teladan Elementary School Palembang and its’ implications to the quality of students. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the data was collected through documentation, interviews, and observation. The study found that: 1) the leadership style of the headmaster in Tunas Teladan Elementary School, Palembang, is democratic combination with family values, but occasionally in certain situations he applies an authoritarian leadership pattern; 2) the leadership style brought about positive implications for the quality of students, both viewed from academic and non-academic aspects. Based on the results of these studies, it is expected that the leadership pattern of the school principals in Tunas Teladan Elementary School Palembang can be learnt as an example model for managers of educational institutions, both formal and non-formal, especially in improving the quality of students.
