Abstract

This research intends to create prototype products that connect inland students to be oriented toward or connected to the sea. Indonesia aspires to become a maritime nation, but those who live upstream or distant from the ocean have not yet made rivers and seas their primary environments. Through a prototype product, this research is anticipated to contribute to the development of the maritime paradigm of the Indonesian people, particularly among students who live far from the ocean. The created goods include maritime materials and subject matter, such as maritime history, culture, resources, and socioeconomics. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to research using instruments derived from surveys and analysing datainstruments derived from surveys and analyzing data, this study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to research. The majority of inland pupils have not grasped maritime materials or content, indicating the requirement for a product that can always connect with the sea. On the basis of this issue, a publicly accessible marine website was established to construct a maritime paradigm.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out "Is the Infographic on the Development of Essential Geography Concepts practical and effective for Social Studies Learning in Junior High Schools". The methodology used in this research is Research and Development (R&D), with data collection techniques through literature studies, documentation and interviews as well as assessments from Social Sciences (IPS) subject teachers to gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of the Essential Concepts Geography in social studies syllabus. The development research that will be carried out is to develop an infographic product with the essential concept of geography. The results of the study show that infographics about the Essential Concepts of Geography are guided by KD 3.1 and KD 4.1 in the 2013 social studies curriculum for grades VII, VIII, and IX with themes. In class VII, the theme is Dieng Plateau and Community Activities in the Surrounding Areas. In class VIII, the theme is Spatial Change and Indonesia's Interaction with ASEAN Countries. In class IX, the theme is Spatial Change and Interaction with ASIA Countries. Thus, the use of infographics in the development of social studies subject matter on the Essential Concepts of Geography for teachers is very important, practical and effective in junior high schools.

Abstract

The state border area has an important position for state sovereignty. Sebatik Island is one of the border areas designated as PKSN for defense and security purposes, along with a new growth center in the economic sector. Therefore it is necessary to know the development of the socio-economic condition of the region along with the various spatial interaction activities that have been carried out by the border communities of Sebatik Island. This paper aims to (1) identify the socio-economic conditions of the area in the Sebatik Island Border Area, (2) identify spatial interaction activities carried out by border communities on Sebatik Island in order to fulfill their daily needs, (3) assess the relationship between socio-economic conditions in Sebatik Island with spatial interactions between regions that have been carried out by the community. This study uses qualitative methods by applying the principle of data triangulation. Some research results can be fund is the Sebatik island region still has a dependence on other regions, one of which is on the territory of neighboring countries. This becomes an anomaly if it is associated with the function of the border area as a manifestation of state sovereignty

Abstract

The government has established the tourism sector as the leading sector of the national economy. This means that the tourism sector is a motor thet can drive economic growth in a region. Maitara Island has considerable potential to be developed as a tourist village in North Maluku Province, especially since Maitara Island has long been known to the people of Indonesai through the 1000 rupiah denomination. Information related to tourist objects in an area is very important for tourists to visit, while for stakeholders this information is useful in developing the tourism. This research was conducted to inventory places on Maitara Island that have the potential to be developed as tourist destinations and to map these potentials based on geographic information systems. The object inventory method is carried out using GPS and camera devices as documentation, while the mapping of these objects is carried out using the ArcGIS application. The results of the inventory show that Maitra Island has natural and cultural landscapes that can be developed as maritime tourism, sports tourism, cultural tourism, and science tourism.

Abstract

Cianjur Regency is one of the regencies located in West Java Province that is vulnerable to disasters because it is passed by the Cimandiri fault. Furthermore, according to BPS the population of Cianjur districts during year 2013 – 2021 increased by around 12.64%. The increasing number of population may cause various problems, including that is related to the spatial problems and land use issues. Moreover, the vulnerability of natural disasters is highly related to the land use of the area. Hence, research regarding land use in Cianjur districts to seek the its relation with the vulnerability of natural disasters is needed. This study conducted a land use analysis using Landsat 8 satellite imagery for 2013 and 2022 in 6 sub-districts in Cianjur district. To obtain land use classification of study area, an unsupervised classification of Landsat imagery is conducted with using Iso class algorithms. There three classes of land use resulted, namely namely built-up land, high vegetation and low vegetation. The overall accuracy of the data from year 2013 is 82.67% with kappa index of 0.74. Moreover the overall accuracy of the data from year 2022 is 89.33% with kappa index of 0.84. Changes of land use can be seen when these two different year data are overlay. Overall, the main differences are increasing number of built-up area and high vegetation land use classification while the low vegetation shows a decreasing number. It is hoped that this research can contribute to policy makers in establishing decisions related to spatial planning for sustainable development in disaster-prone areas around Cianjur district.

Abstract

The increasing need for settlement land has led to different suitability-based uses. This study evaluates land suitability for settlement, limiting factors, and development priorities. The methods used is qualitative with spatial analysis and quantitative with grading based on land units. This study uses Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS data, SRTM DEM, administrative maps, soil types, lithology, and landforms. Data was analyzed based on satellite imagery, approximations, and overlays. The study results show that processing satellite imagery with reasonable accuracy. For land suitability for settlements, the very unsuitable class is dominated by an area of 23592.48 acres, while the very suitable place is 6033.39 acres. For the direction of settlement development, priority I covers an area of 3,181.34 acres, priority II covers an area of 2,852.05 acres, and priority III covers an area of 8,237.89 acres. The findings in this study can be seen in the development of settlements in the regions that are not suitable (D2 II Pm), covering an area of 204.19 acres. Therefore, local governments need to apply regional regulations strictly to create land sustainability and prevent any impacts that may arise.

Abstract

Malaria transmission in Pesawaran District has decreased for three consecutive years, namely 2018-2020 where it reached an API rate of 0.67 per 1000 population. In 2020 Punduh Pidada District has 28 positive cases of malaria. Factors that influence the number of cases of malaria transmission include environmental factors such as rainfall, land use, and altitude. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of malaria in terms of transmission factors in the form of environmental factors in the form of land use and topography. The method used in this research is qualitative with descriptive analysis. Data analysis techniques in this study are buffering techniques and map analysis. The results of this study indicate that land use and topography have an influence on the number of cases of malaria transmission in Punduh Pidada District. The land uses that had the highest cases were mixed forest (18 cases), plantations (18 cases), settlements (20 cases), and fish ponds (20 cases). Meanwhile, the altitude/topography of less than 200 meters above sea level covers all sample locations of malaria transmission in Punduh Pidada District in 2016-2021.
