Abstract

This research was aimed to know the entrepreneurship frame of seaweed farmers in Randusanga Kulon Village, Brebes Subdistrict, Brebes Regency related with the production technique, economic aspect and post production. This research used a case study method.The sampling technique was by purposive sampling. The consideration of the sampling technique was due to the seaweed farmer swho lived and had the fish pondin Randusanga Kulon Village. The results of research include (1) the entrepreneurship frame of seaweedfarmers related with the production technique included: (a) The farmers used the cultivation technique of seaweed using monoculture system or polyculture.(b) The farmers used simple technology. (2) The entrepreneur frame of the seaweed farmer was related to the economicfactors: (a) Financial capital of the farmers was 90% of his own. (b) The cultivation of sea weed were provitable.(c) the distribution of the sea weed was directly and indirectly. (3) The entrepreneurship frame of the sea weed cultivation was related to the post production aspectincluding:(a) 100 percent of famers did post harvest technique.(b) 100 percent of farmers didn’t processing of sea weed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya biaya produksi, pendapatan yang diterima pengrajin serta kelayakan ekonomi usaha agroindustri gula kelapa di Desa Panerusan Kulon Kecamatan Susukan Kabupaten Banjarnegara. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei diskriptif dengan pemilihan lokasi penelitian secara purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian diambil secara stratified random sampling yaitu sebanyak 25 pengrajin untuk pemilik penderes dan 7 pengrajin untuk penggaduh. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan kuesioner yang telah disiapkan, dan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biaya yang dikeluarkan pemilik penderes sebesar Rp.618.388,35/bulan dan penggaduh sebesar Rp.413.642,76/bulan. Pendapatan pemilik penderes sebesar Rp.262.551,65/bulan dan penggaduh sebesar Rp.105.957,24/bulan. Nilai rata-rata R/C untuk pemilik penderes sebesar 2,86 sedangkan penggaduh sebesar 2,53.

Abstract

System availability to access climatology data especially precipitation data is needed to facilitate a variety of interested parties to use it for analysis purpose. Theoritically, it is better to analyze about 30 years of data to describe the climatic condition in a region, but to determine the exact minimum length of optimum rainfall data, a linear regression formula Y = (4.30t x log(R))2 + 6 can be used. Jatinangor as developing region do not have any complete climate conditions data yet, so to get an idea of its climate condition a minimum precipitation data analysis is needed. Precipitation data of Jatinangor is available from years 1994 to 2010 with the presence of missing data from August 2005 to December 2007 due to equipment damage, so its necessary to assest the missing data using reciprocal method. After analysis is done, it showed that there certain month that are still not meet the minimum data length requirements, especially in dry months because a longer period of data would normalize the data and will become easier to perform calculations and data analysis to describe the climatic conditions in Jatinangor.

Abstract

This research is aimed at: 1) studying the characteristics of horticultural plants farmers in agroecological zone of Serayu upper catchment area in Banyumas regency, measured by the age, formal education level, job status, the way of farming, farming experience, previous activities before farming, and the level of socio economics in the research area 2) investigating the role of horticultural plants farmers in agroecological zone of Serayu upper catchment area in Banyumas regency in the pattern of land use based on land conservation 3) indentifying the factors that influence the behavior of horticultural plants farmers in agroecological zone of Serayu upper catchment area in Banyumas regency in doing land conservation. The area of Banyumas regency is choosen as the area of research because it has agroecological zone that consists of upper, middle and lower zone along Serayu upper catchment area. Thirty horticultural plants farmers are selected randomly. They are interviewed to get data and information about land conservation behavior. The result of the research shows that the characteristics of horticultural plants farmers in agroecological zone around Serayu upper catchment area are: about 41 – 50 years old, mostly elementary school formal education, farming as the main job, self-farming, 16 – 20 year experience in farming, most of them do not have any previous activities before being farmers and their socio economical level can be categorized as low. The role of horticultural plants farmers in land conservation are: returning residue into the soil (recycling), using organic fertilizer, plant rotation, optimum water management, using high variety plants daptive to specific environment, controlling the pest and disesase by using IPM (Integrated Pest Management) principle, and the balance use of anorganic fertilizer. The factors that influence farmers’ behavior in land conservation are: belief, cultural values orientation, income, land size, attitude and knowledge about conservation. Abstract

This research will be attempts to obtain strain superior Trichoderma that had ability to colonize roots in mas cultivar banana seedlings so that expected can induce resistant plants to the attack fungi Fusarium oxysporum f.sp . the cause of the disease wither in banana crop result in vitro cultures.Research carried out in the Green House Agricultural Faculty, University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, time or carried out 8 months. A design that is a Random Block Design treatment which were examined consists of 2 factor of treatment that is for biological agent antagonist Trichoderma sp, consisting of 2 species that is Trichorderma harzianum (T1), and Trichorderma viride (T2 processor). The second treatment is a way to Trichoderma application that consists of two that is, by immersion banana into the suspension Trichoderma (P1) and the sprinkling planting medium to isolate Trichoderma spp (P2). All organised in factorial with three replications, and each unit treatment uses 10 plants that will use 40 polybags. The result showed that application biological agent Trichoderma (T. Harzianum and T viride) during the research proved an emphasis on the attack disease Fussarium in seed, was shown to the low disease severity attacks. For biologist agenues and biodiversity Trichoderma ( T. Harzianum and T. Viride) which is applied by immersion and the sprinkling can have an influence on the increase of leaves in seeds during the research, and have no effect on than plants and diameter in each stem treatment. However, it is a gift Trichoderma growth able to give a better than without treatment Trichoderma (control) and proved to be able to colonize banana seedlings root is endofit in banana mas seedling result in vitro culture. Abstract

Land resources is one of the critical success factors of farming systems. One of the potential land is Ultisol with an area of 47.5 million hectares, but has low soil fertility. So it needs to be studied regarding the use of compost of oyster mushroom growing media waste inUltisol in onion cultivation. The research is based on a randomized block design with eight replications. Factors studied were oyster mushroom growing media waste consists of three levels ie without waste (L0), given the fresh waste as much as 20 t ha-1 (L1) and given compost waste as much as 20 t ha-1 (L2).The results showed that giving zeolite as much as 1 t ha-1 in Ultisol did not significantly affect onion crop, whereas giving of waste oyster mushroom growing medium as much as 20 t ha-1 significantly affected the onion crop, although there is no difference between waste freshor composted. There is no interaction between the zeolite and the giving waste oyster mushroom growing media on growth and yield of onion.Keywords: compost, waste, oyster mushrooms, onion

Abstract

Konversi lahan pertanian merupakan ancaman yang serius terhadap ketahananpangan nasional karena dampaknya bersifat permanen. Lahan pertanian yangtelah dikonversi ke penggunaan lain di luar pertanian sangat kecil peluangnyauntuk berubah kembali menjadi lahan pertanian. Untuk mengestimasi faktorfaktoryang mempengaruhi petani dalam mengalihfungsikan lahan sawahdigunakan analisis regresi logistik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yangmempengaruhi keputusan petani untuk melakukan alih fungsi lahan dipengaruhioleh tingkat umur dan produktivitas lahan. Luas lahan yang mengalami alihfungsi lahan paling banyak adalah dibawah 0,5 hektar dan penggunaan hasil darialih fungsi lahan adalah untuk bangun rumah, ditabung, membeli rumah, modalbengkel, biaya sekolah anak, buat kosan, membeli sawah kembali danmemperbaiki rumah.

Abstract

Research has been conducted in Bojongsari Village, Kembaran Subdistrict Banyumas Regency Central Java on ± 3 month. The aim of research: To know dose of fermentation compost was best influenced on growth and yield of French bean. To know treatment of natural fertilizer mycorrhiza on influenced on growth and yield of French bean. To know the interaction’s effect between fermentation compost dose and usage of biological fertilizer micorrhyze on growth and yield of French bean. This research represents polibag experiment with factorial pattern. Used design was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four times replications. Each treatment plot number was 24. Each experimental plot comprised of three plants then total number of plant was 72. Tested factors were fermentation compost dose (15.000 kg/ha or 75 gram/polibag, 20.000 kg/ha or 100 gr/polibag, 25.000 kg/ha or 125 gram/polibag) and usage biological fertilizer mycorrhiza (without mycorrhiza and use mychorriza). Research result showed that treatment of fermentation compost providing significant effect on number of pods. While on other variable studied such as plant length, the amount of leaf, the weight of the wet upper plant, the weight of fresh root and pods weight was not significantly influenced. Treatment of fermentation compost with dose of 125 gram/polibag represent best fermentation compost dose at this research. Treatment of biological fertilizer mycorrhiza was not significantly influenced on entire observed variables that where plant length, leaf number, the weight of the wet upper plant, the weight of fresh root and pods weight. There was interaction between treatment of compost fertilizer combination and natural fertilizer mychorrhiza on growth and yield of French bean at observed variable that were lower bunch weight that significantly different and not significantly different in plant length, leaf number, the weight of the wet upper plant, the weight of fresh root and pods weight. Abstract

Based on the data of General Director of Production and Horticulture, the damage of plantation areas in banana plantation centers in Indonesia always increases in years, this is due to Fusarium attack caused by fungus Fusarium oxisphorum and causing damage of 30- 70 % banana plantation areas.The aim of this empirically for due to biological control technology Fusarium wilt effective and environmentally friendly to the infected area in District Baturaden, Banyumas through soil solarization treatments and utilization of biological agents..The Research was conducted at the wilt disease endemic Fusarium land located in the village Pamijen, District Baturraden, Banyumas. The research design was a Split Plot Design consisting of 2 treatments, the main plot treatments is soil solarization, whereas treatment subplot is the type and dose of biological agents antagonist. The results showed that the treatment given soil solarization proved to increase the temperature of the surface of the soil up to 8.8 ° C compared with without solarization and reduces demand Fussarium population at ground level up to 53.61%, whereas without solarization Fussarium population decline by 22, 33%. Provision of biological agents Trichoderma, Gliocladium and P. Fluoroscens during the study proved to provide inhibition of the development of Fussarium on seedling disease, indicated by the appearance of symptoms of the disease until the end of the study. This is possible due to the formation of phenolic compounds such as tannins, saponins and glicosida and colonization between biological agents with the root system of plants in which the contact between pathogen inhibition with banana plant seedlings root system so that it protects the roots of the disease-causing pathogen infection Fussarium wilt. Treatment of biological agents proved capable of providing better vegetative growth when compared to the untreated biological agents (control) in which had significant effect on the number of root parameters, but had no significant effect on plant height parameter, number of leave’s, and stem’s diameter. However, the provision of Trichoderma 100 g / planting hole showed the best results in almost all plant vegetative growth parameters at the end of the reseach. Abstract

Kondisi sosial ekonomi menjadi salah kunci penting keberhasilan kegiatan restorasi landscape. Persepsi masyarakan terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan restorasi landscape hutan sangat bervariasi bergantung pada tingkat pendapatan, tingkat pendidikan, jenis pekerjaan utama, umur dan lama tinggal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan indeks persepsi masyarakat perencanaan restorasi lanskap hutan tropis di kabupaten Langkat. Wawancara terstruktur dilakukan untuk mendapatkan persepsi masyarakat terhadap rencana restorasi lanskap. Analisis skoring menggunakan skala Likert digunakan untuk mendapatkan indeks persepsi persepsi masyarakat terhadap rencana restorasi lanskap hutan terdegradasi di kabupaten Langkat. Berdasarkan tipe pekerjaannya, masyarakat yang mata pencahariannya sangat bergantung pada kualitas sumber daya alam sangat setuju dan akan berpartisipasi dalam tahapan-tahapan restorasi. Kelompok pekerjaan petani lebih mendukung restorasi landscape dibandingkan dengan pekerja atau pemilik perkebunan. Model regreasi linear hubungan antara indeks persepsi restorasi dengan faktor sosial ekonomi adalah y = 0,8544–0,0699 pendapatan + 0,0330 pekerjaan dengan nilai koefisien determinasi 22,20 %. Kelompok jenis pekerjaan dan tingkat pendapatan yang secara signifikan mempengaruhi kemungkinan partisipasi masyarakat dalam restorasi landscape hutan.
