Abstract

As contributors to infectious waste, hospitals become one of the diseases transmission routes and health risks for their workers. Negligence of CS using PPE is still often found in the handling of medical waste. This study aimed to determine the factors related to medical waste handling by CS at Sansani Hospital in Pekanbaru City in 2021. This study was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach and performed at the Sansani Hospital Pekanbaru from December 2020 to March 2021. The population of this study was 30 cleaning services and using total sampling as the sample. Processing data using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. This study showed that 43,3% of cleaning services had a lack of waste medical handling, 26,7% had a lack of knowledge, 26,7% had a negative attitude, 40% had a poor perception of availability of facilities, and 33,3% had a poor perception to supervision. There was statistically significant relationship between attitude (p-value < 0,049), availability of facilities (p-value = 0,001), and supervision (p-value < 0,000) with medical waste handling. There was no relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0,698) with medical waste handling. Attitudes, availability of facilities, and supervision were the factors related to cleaning services in medical waste handling. It is suggested that Sansani Hospital Pekanbaru improve field supervision, provide socialization and training in medical waste management and equip waste management facilities, especially for PPE, such as gloves, safety boots, and medical waste labels.

Abstract

Workload is the number of types of work that must be completed by professional health workers in 1 (one) year in one health service facility. Planning for Human Resources (HR) needs can be done by calculating using the ABK Kes method. The medical record unit at the Guntung Payung Health Center Banjarbaru has 6 officers, consisting of 3 counter 1 officer and 3 counter 2 officers. All medical record unit officers often have other jobs. This causes the workload of the officers to be more. This study aimed to determine the workload and needs of Human Resources (HR) in the medical record unit at the Guntung Payung Health Center Banjarbaru. This research used a descriptive method. The results and conclusions of this study were the workload in the medical record unit at the Guntung Payung Health Center Banjarbaru using the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method was overloaded, meaning the workload was high. The need for Human Resources (HR) in the medical record unit of the Guntung Payung Health Center Banjarbaru using the ABK Kes method was 7 people, meaning that the Human Resources (HR) was still lacking, especially at counter 2 requiring the addition of 1 officer.

Abstract

Breast milk is the best source of nutrients for infants. Its content was strongly influenced by the intake of the nutrients consumed by the mother. When the mother’s nutrient intake is fulfilled, the quality of her breast milk will be good. This study aimed to analyze the nutritional intake of breast milk and the fat content in breast milk, and the association between the fat content and the growth of infants aged six months. This quantitative and observational study used a cross-sectional design. The population was nursing mothers with infants aged six months. The Posyandu was selected by purposive sampling, while the samples were selected by consecutive sampling. Based on the correlation test, the samples in this study were 56 people. The study was conducted in the three Puskesmas areas in Bandung. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that there were 37,5% nursing mothers with energy intake appropriate with RDA and the rest of them (62,5%) had energy intake below the RDA. There was an association between energy intake of nursing mothers with fat content in breast milk (p = 0,01). There is a relationship between fat content in breast milk with WAZ (p = 0.00). Fat content in breast milk had no association with HAZ (p=0,12) and WHZ (p=0,42). Low energy intake affected fat content in breast milk, which will eventually affect infant growth.

Abstract

Breast cancer has highest prevalence in Indonesia which is 42,1 per 100,000 population of Indonesian women suffered breast cancer and the average of rate death is 17 per 100,000 population. Breast self-examination is an early detection or screening method to detect early breast tumors or lumps. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education on self-breast examination (BSE) on conscious action. The method of this research was quantitative design of quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, the determination of the sample of this study by purposive sampling of 40 women of childbearing age divided into 2 groups, 20 samples of treatment groups and 20 samples of control groups.The measurement of awareness action used a questionaire before intervention in the treatment and control groups, tabulation of conscious action data after intervention in the treatment and control groups, data analysis of conscious action before and after being given health education about awareness with the paired T Test if the data distribution is normal and if not distributed normal with the Wilcoxon sign test (f). The results showed that the p value in the treatment group is 0,000, while the p value in the control group is 0,102 which indicates that the p value in the treatment group and the control group is 0,000. There is a significant effect on the group that was given treatment than the control group. The results of this study are expected to consider increasing the socialization program on the implementation of breast examination held.

Abstract

Starfruit is a Malay name for a type of fruit from the Oxalidaceae family, Averrahoa clan. Candied fruit is a fruit preserved with sugar. Flavonoids play a role in preventing the risk of heart disease, saponins can reduce serum cholesterol levels, vitamin c (ascorbic acid) as an antioxidant. This study aimed to determine the acceptability of candied starfruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) as a snack for people with hypercholesterolemia. The specific objective was to identify the respondent's acceptance (color, aroma, taste) of the sweet starfruit Averrhoa bilimbi L.) as a snack for people with hypercholesterolemia. The method used was pure experimental with a completely randomized design research. The research was conducted to determine the acceptability of the sweet starfruit (Averrahoa bilimbi L.) organoleptic results, namely assessment and observing color, aroma, taste. Organoleptic testing was a way of assessing the five senses, and thereby it can be concluded that the acceptability contained in sweets included color, taste, aroma, namely: The highest color on P3 was 3,1 with the criteria of liking. The highest taste in P3 was 3,1 with like criteria. The highest aroma in P3 was 3,2 with like criteria. Acceptance of color, aroma, and taste of sweets were proven to have differences with different treatments with probability values of 0,000<α respectively at the 95% confidence level (α=0,05).

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a health problem characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels that cannot be cured and can only be controlled so that it requires self-care. This study aimed to determine the relationship of self-care in terms of monitoring diet and compliance with taking medication with the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients in the working area of ​​Puskesmas Bungi. This type of research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional study design. The study population were 291 people. A total of 168 samples were selected using probability sampling. Collecting data through primary data, namely questionnaires and secondary data. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi square test. The results showed the relationship of monitoring diet (diet) with the quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus showed p value = 0,000 or p value <0,05, which means there is a relationship between monitoring diet (diet) and quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus, the correlation between medication adherence and quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus showed p value = 0,830 or p value> 0,05, which means that there was no relationship between medication adherence and quality of life for patients with diabetes mellitus. Based on these results diabetes mellitus patients are expected to continue to improve self-care behavior to obtain health status and achieve a better quality of life and prevent further disease complications.

Anemia in pregnant women is still one of the national problems because it reflects the value of the socio-economic welfare of the community. It also has large influence on the quality of human resources. Anemia of pregnancy is called 'potential danger to mother and child', and thereby anemia requires attention from all parties involved in health services at the forefront. This descriptive analytic study used a cross-sectional design, with a total sample of 40 anemic pregnant women. This study used a purposive sampling method. It was conducted in the working area of the Puskesmas Danau Panggang. The variables observed in this study were energy and protein consumption levels in anemic pregnant women. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. The results showed that the energy consumption level of anemic pregnant women was mostly in the severe deficit category, namely 95% (38) of anemic pregnant women. Based on this number, most of them (i.e., 58% or 22 anemic pregnant women) had the energy consumption level between 30% and 49% RDA. Meanwhile, the level of protein consumption of most anemic pregnant women was in the severe deficit category, i.e., 87,5% (35) anemic pregnant women. Based on this number, the majority, namely 60% (21) pregnant women with anemia, Most of anemic pregnant women (60% or 21 women) had the protein consumption level between 30% and 49% of the RDA.

Autism is a complex developmental disorder involving communication, social interaction and imaginary. The risk factors that can increase the progressiveness of this disorder are gluten and casein. The alternative solution is making gluten-free and casein-free (CFCF) biscuit using soybean and rice flour. This study aimed to know the effect of soybean and rice flour proportion to calorie, protein contents, and organoleptic characteristics of biscuit. This pre-experimental study used a completely randomized design to against 3 times to treatments and replications. It used one group treated with P0 = 100% wheat flour and oat as control; and others P1 = 60%: 40%, P2 = 70%: 30% and P3 = 80%: 20% with the ratio of soybean flour and rice flour. The average of protein content biscuit on the treatment of P0 (control), P1, P2, and P3 were 9,15%, 15,94%, 18,74%, and 19,45%, respectively. The average of calorie biscuit on the treatment groups were 4382,82 cal /g, 3914,45 cal /g, 3996,13 cal/g, and 4484,33 cal /g, respectively. The higher the proportion of soybean flour, the higher the calorie content in biscuits. The protein and calorie in the best treatment were 448,43 kcal to control 438,28 kcal and 19,45% to control 9,15%, respectively. The most preferred organoleptic was P3. The soybean flour and rice flour proportion did not influence the biscuit’s color and flavor, but it affected the odor and texture. There was difference between calorie and protein contents, and organoleptic quality in the best treatment biscuit to control.
