Abstract

Muhammadiyah is known as community organization based on religious principle which act on disseminating Islamic values in order to reform Islamic principle to become purely. In its growth, Muhammadiyah does not far away from political activities that is not really its field. Various roles in political context are played by Muhammadiyah both external an internal space. This article’s aim is describing relationship pattern between Muhammadiyah and political field to reinforce Muhammadiyah actual face in politic. Nowadays, liberalism and communitarianism are the most famous maintreams in political philosophy discourses. These maintreams are mutual different, especially in individual and community freedom concepts. Liberalism gives priority to individual freedom, whereas commun-itarianism gives priority to community. Abstract

The objectives of this study are to identify the existence of cultural identity and communal rights of Minangkabau traditional society and to find a fixed and effective model in protecting the existence of  cultural identity and communal rights. R & D approach was used in this study. The result of this study indicated that cultural identity of Minangkabau traditional society is still exist among the people that is indicated by the existence of: the structure of traditional government, traditional law territory, traditional judicature, Nagari government, authorizing of natural resources by Nagari government, and the structure of traditional community. The right of communal land in traditional society are still exist, and most of them are involved in civil law dispute. The model of protection toward cultural identity of traditional community is implemented toward traditional government, traditional law territory,  traditional judicature, the structure of traditional government, and authorizing of natural resources, and Nagari government. There are many challanges and threats toward the existence of the communal lands both internal and external. It is recommended that government should conserve and fill the need of the cultural identity and the rights of communal lands of society through a fixed and effective model. Abstract

Although public services are the right of the people or  citizens that must be met government, it seems still far from standard. This study tried to describe the image-disconfirmation of citizen satisfaction in public sector services in Padangpanjang in the area of basic needs (education, health and social). This variable would be viewed on the the aspects of age, gender, marital status, education, religious affiliation of citizens,  ethnicity, revenue, economic status, political affiliation of citizens, and the relationship each of these aspects with the disconfirmation-satisfaction. A quantitative approach has been used in this study. Kata Kunci: Pelayanan publik, diskonfirmasi, kepuasan warga, sektor publik.

Abstract

This research aimed at describing the commitments of “Nagari” Government officers all the province of West Sumatera in carrying out their main duties and their capabilities, either in the bodies of Legislative or Executive, Religious Consideration, and Conservation of Local Culture/Custom.   For this purpose qualitative approach was used through “mean and percentage” analysis.  The finding of this research indicated that the commitment of the “Nagari” Government officers is not too different from their capabilities. A few of the commitments and capabilities tend to be in high grades or categories, while most of them tend to be in low grades or categories. Abstract

The role of student politics looks dominant in every phase of political life which formatted in the political system. Students are seen as agents of change, noblesse oblige, the future generation, or as a prophetic minority. This article focuses on the study of the perceptions of student politics FIS UNP. The finding of this research showed that political perception is awakened from the high level of knowledge and critical attitude made it possible that they become reformer actors for the acceleration of the reform agenda. However, based on some indications, there is not impossible that they become destabilizing forces in political life.Kata kunci: Persepsi politik, peran politik mahasiswa, sistem politik.

Abstract

This study was intended to describe the political preference and rationalization of Minang urban women and their political response. This study was conducted in two kelurahan (villages) representing the characteristics of central urban and suburban in the city of Padang. Quantitative approach with survey method was used in this study. Respondents in this study were chosen through stratified random sampling. The finding of this study indicated that the political preference of Minang urban women tended to be asimetrical, while their political rationalization did not run perfectly. Abstract

The level of trust in government is important because its reflect the support of people to their government. The higher level of trust will give government more power to implement development to the country.  Moreover, government that gain higher confidence from the people’s can play their role effectively compared to the government who failed to gain support from them.  This paper will discuss the level of trust among local universities students’ in Malaysia.  Their opinion is crucial because they are  our future leader.   Kata kunci: mahasiswa, Kerajaan Persekutuan,    kepercayaan
