Abstract

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sorong Fuel Terminal is a company engaged in receiving, stockpiling, and distributing. Fuel stockpiled in the tank will be distributed through a tank truck with a capacity of 5,000 liters. The limited capacity of the tank truck makes the distribution less than optimal. The limited tank truck capacity triggers problems in the distribution system, especially considering that the life of 3 of the 6 existing tank trucks will expire in 2024. By considering the remaining time, the company needs to evaluate the distribution facilities that will be used and one of the solutions is to vary the capacity of the tank trucks. This problem can be solved through several considerations such as the urgency of tank truck needs, the amount of fuel needed, the infrastructure of the Sorong region, and some data that will be processed using Anylogistix. The results show that with the new tank truck capacity variations, namely 28,000 liter and 15,000 liter, in the selected periods it is more efficient by 24.58%, 3.44%, 31.6%, 26.37%, 30.67%, and 23.65% in terms of time compared to without variation. In addition, 445.6 liters of fuel can be saved in a month. All demands can be met from the minimization results so that this solution can optimize the distribution carried out and have a positive impact on the company.

Abstract

Bill Bakerykoe is one of the UMKM operating in the food sector in Kudus, with the main production being Donat and Roti Manis. Based on observations, UMKM do not yet have a good work area arrangement. In carrying out bread production activities, using the current layout of production facilities, it was found that the arrangement of the work areas was not in accordance with the sequence of the production process flow from the initial process to the final process. Thus, there was repetition in passing through production areas that should not have been time to pass. The work stations observed were from the location of the raw material warehouse, production machines, to the product packaging area. This research aims to provide proposals for the layout of new production facilities that is appropriate and more efficient, and can eliminate repetitive activities that can waste a lot of time, by minimizing the total production distance. The research method used is Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) which starts from preparing a production route sheet, production process map, creating an ARC (Activity Relationship Chart), redesigning the layout, stages of analyzing the results, then conclusions and suggestions. The results of the research were changes to the layout of 7 work areas including the raw material area 1 (A), the leftover materials area (C), the equipment warehouse area (D), the dough molding area (F), the dough frying area (G), the Donut WIP (J), and equipment washing area (O). As for the comparison of the total production distance in the initial layout and the improved layout, the results showed that the new layout can reduce the total production distance by 16.4 meters.

Abstract

PT Crieta Logistics ships goods in containers. In carrying out its business, the company often experiences lost sales which are caused by the unavailability of containers so that the orders can be fulfilled. From January to July 2022, PT Crieta Logistics experienced lost sales of 21, 9, 12, 34, 19, 4 and 2 TEUs respectively. Therefore, in this study forecasting the number of requests for containers at PT Crieta Logistics conducted to make decisions related to handling demand for containers in the coming period. This forecasting result served as a basic input to establish policies of container availability, such as whether to reorganize contracts with vendors or others. The forecasting is done using 3 methods, namely linear, quadratic, and exponential regression with historical data of 2 years from July 2020 to July 2022. In determining the most accurate forecasting method, the error value is calculated using the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) method. In the linear regression method, the MAPE value is 9.5%, while in the quadratic method, the MAPE value is 9%, and in the exponential method, the MAPE value is 9.2%. The quadratic method was chosen as the method suitably used in forecasting the next 12 periods because it has the smallest MAPE value. Forecasting demand using the quadratic method produces 12,631 units of containers for the next 12 periods, from August 2022 - July 2023.

Abstract

Chili is a strategic agricultural commodity that has high economic value and makes a real contribution to the national economy. The biggest problem in the chili trade system is price stabilization. Unstable prices occur when there is a change in supply volume. Based on BPS data in 2021, North Sumatra is the largest chili center outside Java with a contribution of 14.16%. Followed by West Sumatra and Aceh contributing 8.27% and 4.6% respectively. The center for red chili production in North Sumatra Province is Batu Bara Regency, which has an area of 982 ha with a productivity of 8 tons/hectare for red chilies, apart from Karo, Simalungun and Dairi. One way to overcome the chili problem in Batu Bara Regency is with the Rumah Produksi Bersama (RPB) program, which is a place for micro and small business actors to carry out joint production activities with similar product commodities, dependence on similar workforce skills, or the use of complementary technologies. Apart from that, RPB is a promotion for regional government investment in developing their region (Regional Branding) in addition to differentiating products and increasing value. For this reason, a Feasibility Study Method for the RPB KUKM for chili commodities in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province is needed, including through location, Production, Marketing, Financial and Management analysis as well as reviewing the regional image. Based on the results of the feasibility study, it was found that the location of the RPB is in chili, Lubuk Cuik Village, Limapuluh Pesisir District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province, which is not far from the chili center in Batu Bara Regency. To achieve feasibility in accordance with the capabilities of RPB cutlery, it must be able to produce a minimum of 20 tons per month or around 240 tons per year with this production NPV, IRR and PP can be said to be feasible. Meanwhile, marketing is carried out B2B and B2C for potential offtakers, apart from building public-private partnerships and involving all key stakeholders, with the main player being the government.
