ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describing reading skills understanding text of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 32 Padang. Second, describing the exposition for writing the text skills of Grade VIII students in Padang Middle School 32 Third, describing the correlation of reading skills in the text comprehension and the exposition for writing text skills for grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used is correlational design. The study population was grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, which was 196 students. The study sample was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 49 students. The research data is in the form of a reading skill test score understanding and the score of the exsposition for writing the text exsposition. There are two instruments for this research, namely objective tests to measure reading skills, comprehension and performance tests to measure the exsposition for writing text skills. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that there was a significant correlation between reading skills, text comprehension, and exsposition writing skills in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 32 Padang. at the real level (α) of 95% with n-1 freedom degrees in other words if the reading skills of students 'exsposition text comprehension are good, then students' writing skills are also good. Conversely, if the reading skills of students 'exsposition text comprehension are bad then the students' writing exsposition text skills are also bad. Kata Kunci: Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks, Eksposisi

Second, describing the exposition text writing skills of Grade X students in SMA Negeri 2 Painan, describing the correlation of reading skills in the text comprehension exposition and the writing text skills for grade X students of SMA Negeri 2 Painan. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The study sample was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, namely 54 students. The research data is in the form of a reading skill test score understanding of the exposition text and the score of writing skills the text exposition. There are two instruments for this research, namely objective tests to measure reading skills, comprehension of text exposition and performance tests to measure for writing text skills. Text comprehension exposition, and writing skills in class X students of SMA Negeri 2 Painan at the real level (α) of 95% with n-1 freedom degrees in other words if the reading skills of students exposition text comprehension are good, then students' writing skills are also good. ABSTRACT This article reveals the contribution of skills reading comprehension text descriptions to writing skills text description grade students VII SMP Negeri Batang Kapas 1. The purpose of this research there are three. First, it describes the skills of reading comprehension text description grade VII SMP Negeri 1 field. Second, it describes the writing skills text description grade VII SMP Negeri 1 field. Third, describing the contribution of the intermediate reading comprehension text descriptions against writing skills text description grade VII SMP Negeri 12 field. The design used in this research is the design contribution. This research population is grade VII SMP Negeri Padang are registered on the 12th school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 286 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, i.e. 54 students. Research data is a score test. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text description and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text description.. First, the skills of reading comprehension text description grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 80.09. Second, the skills of writing text descriptions grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 12 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 80.86. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text procedure grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 10 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 80.09. Second, the skills of writing text procedure grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 10 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 80.71. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describing news text writing skills. Second, describe the skills of listening to news texts. Third, describe the correlation of listening to news text skills with news text writing skills. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this research is correlational. The population in this research were all eighth grade students of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, namely 223 student. There are two variable in this research, namely the dependent variable (Y) the ability to write news text and the independent variable (X) the skill of listening to news text. The data in this study were scores on the skills of writing news texts and skills score listening to news texts. The instrument used is a test, which is an objective test for listening to news text skills and performance tests for news text writing skills. The results of this research are three. First, news text writing skills of class VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (80,75). Second, listening to the news text skills of clas VIII SMP Negeri 34 of Padang are in good qualification (77,57). Third, listening to news text skill correlates with news text writing skills. Based on this , it can be conclude that to improve writing skills, listening skills must be improved.  Kata kunci : Korelasi, Menyimak, Menulis, dan Teks Berita

ABSTRACTThis article aims to describe the effect of the problem based leaerning model on explanatory text writing as found on eight grade at SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan.The type the research is quantitative with the experimental method. There are three results found from the research, these are (1) eight grade students expansive writing skills as found at SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan before they were tought using the problem based learning model it were already in a qualitied stage with the average valve is 70,67, (2) eight grade students explanatory writing skills of SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan after being tought using the problem based learning model is in a better qualified stage with the average valve is 86,86, and (3) eight grade student explanatory writing skills of SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan using the problem based learning model have been in a good stage even without using the problem based learning model. Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Model Problem Based Learning, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this research is to describe the wrong type of phrases in the short story text, describe the causes of phrase errors in the short story text, describe the pattern of revision of the short story text written by student of 11th grade SMKN 1 Padang Panjang. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The instrument of this research is the research itself. This research data is in the wrong phrase. The data source of this research is a short story text written by a student of 11th grade SMKN 1 Padang Panjang. The research data was collected using documentation. Based on the results of the study obtained data as follows. First, the wrong type of phrase in the students' short story text. The wrong type of phrases in the short story texts of students in this study are endocentric phrases and exocentric phrases. Second, the cause of phrase errors in the students' short story text in the form of front-word phrases, mismanagement, wrong due to excessive, the addition of certain words to phrases whose elements are inseparable, and the omission of certain words that connect parts of phrases. third, the pattern of revising the short story text by selecting the language corpus, recognizing errors in the corpus, classifying errors, explaining errors, and evaluating errors.                                       ABSTRACT This article was written to describe the relation the mastery of the vocabulary environment to the skill writting the text of the exposition  students in class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method and correlational design. The sample in this study amounted to 44 people. The data of this research is score the mastery of the vocabulary environment the exposition text and skill test result writting the text of exposition. The data were gotten through an objective test intended to measure the students the mastery of the vocabulary environment and performance test intended to measure the students skills of writting the text of exposition. Based on data analysis, the following three things are obtained. First, skill of writing the exposition text students in class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3 is in good qualification (81,91). Second, the skill the mastery of the vocabulary environment the exposition text of students in class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3 is in good qualification (82,05). Third, there was a significant corelation between the students the mastery of the vocabulary environment of exposition text with the skills of writing the exposition text of strudent of class VIII padang Panjang Junior High School 3 in which the significance level 95% with the degrees of freedom n-1 (dk = n-1). Based on this, it was concluded that writing an exposition text requers the mastery of environmental vocabulary. Kata kunci: Korelasi, Kosakata, Menulis, dan Teks Eksposisi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the writing skills of fable texts of grade 7 students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang before using inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media. Second, describing the skill of writing fable texts in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang after using inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media. Third, describe the influence of the use of inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media on fable text writing skills of seventh grade students of Padang 7 Public Middle School. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The design of this study was one group pretest and posttest design. The population in this study were seventh grade students of Padang 7 Public Middle School who were enrolled in 2018/2019 school year as many as 251 people. The sample in this study were 31 students who were determined using purposive sampling technique. The variables of this study were fable text writing skills before and after using inquiry learning strategies assisted by audiovisual media in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The instrument of this study was performance tests, namely tests of writing fable texts before and after using inquiry learning strategies assisted by audiovisual media. The results of this study are three, namely as follows. First, writing fable text skills before using the incuri strategy assisted by audiovisual media in grade VII students of Padang Public Middle School 7 were in a sufficient qualification (C) with an average of 62.37. Second, fable text writing skills after using inquiry strategies assisted by audiovisual media in class VII Padang 7 SMP Negeri are in Good qualification (B) with an average of 81.45. Third, based on the t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is received at a significant level of 95% and the degree of freedom (dk) = n-1 because of t count> t table, which is 6.17> 1.70.  Kata Kunci: pengaruh, strategi inkuiri, keterampilan menulis teks fabel

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is three. First, describe the reading skills of the text apresitif fable grade VII SMP Negeri 30 Padang. Second, describing the writing skills of text fable grade VII students SMP Negeri 30 Padang. Thirdly, describing the contribution of fable text apreciprocative reading skills to text writing skills Fable class VII SMP Negeri 30 Padang.  This type of research is quantitative by a descriptive method. The design used in this study is design contributions. The population of this study is class VII junior high School 30 Padang registered in the school year 2018/2019, which is as many as 254 students. The samples in this study were determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, which is 56 students. This research Data is in the form of scores of test skills read Fable text appreciative and score test results of text writing fable. The results of this study were three. First, the skill of reading a text apresiative fable grade VII students SMP Negeri 30 Padang is in good qualification (B) with an average value of 74.19. Secondly, the writing skills of text fable grade VII students SMP Negeri 30 Padang are in good qualification (B) with an average of 76.64. Thirdly, there is a contribution of reading skills fable text appreciative to the writing skills of text fable grade VII students SMP Negeri 30 Padang amounted to 51.4%. Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan Membaca Apresiatif, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Fabel
