Abstract

Specifically, purposes of the research were: (1) to describe the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension without using the point strategy technique, (2) to describe the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension by using the point strategy technique, (3) to analyze the effectives of the point strategy technique in to the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension. The type of the research was quantitative research by using experimental method. Research findings provides that learning by using strategy point in experimental classroom was effective with average 70,4 in qualification more than enough. In contrast, control class in average 63,7 in qualification enough.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to (1) describe song spiritual structures indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu describe song spiritual structures indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman and (2 ) describe song physical structures indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. This observational type is observational kualitatif by methodics descriptive. Descriptive method to be utilized to describe song lyric structure indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Observational data collecting tech utilize recording tech to get song lyric indang . Besides recording tech also utilizes tech to note to describe of recording language goes to language to write. Base observational result get as follows been concluded.  First , Spiritual structure. Spiritual structure that exists in song lyric indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, which is theme, feel (feeling ), tone, and mandate.  Both of, physical structure. Physical structure that is revealed in song lyric indang at Nagari Kuranji Hulu Sungai Geringging Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, which is diction, imagination, say konkret, and figuratif's language.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the forms of speech acts of locution and illocution associated with the program This Talk Show on Net TV, as well as describing the function of speech. The data in the study are speeches delivered by the emcee as well as invited guests. The technique of collecting data in this study was using a competent, free listening method and the note taking technique. Based on the results of the analysis can conclude the following points. First, this study found 16 locus speech acts. Second, the illocutionary speech acts found in this study were arrested 27. Each of the illocutionary speech acts is assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. Get as many as 12 speeches in the form of assertive illocution, 10 speeches in the form of directive illocution, 1 speech in the form of commissive illocution, 3 speeches in the form of expressive illocution, and 1 speech in the form of declarative illocution.Kata kunci: pragmatik, tindak tutur, lokusi, ilokusi

Abstract

The problem in this research is the writing skill of the argumentative essay of Grade X students of SMK N 1 Batusangkar was low, so it needs a strategy that can improve the writing skills of argumentative essay. This research is a classroom action research by using descriptive method. The data described in a qualitative research based on observation sheets, field notes, and test. For the students’ achievement, data obtained from the performance tests by writing argumentative essay. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle had two meetings. The procedure of every cycle consists of four steps, namely (1) planning, (2) actions, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The subjects were students of class X. K.1 of SMK N 1 Batusangkar. They were 34 students. Based on the description and analysis of the finding, some conclusions can be drawn: First, the process of learning by using Contextual Approach in teaching writing of argumentative essay ran well.  Second, the average writing skills test in writing argument essay by using Contextual Approach increased from 23.53% in first cycle to 94.11% in the second cycle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is describe the values of character education which is contained in the novel of Asma Nadia “Rumah Tanpa Jendela” such as : (1) loving god and truth. (2) responsibility, discipline, and self independent. (3) respect and courtesy. (4) affection, care, and teamwork. (5) self-comfident, creative and never give up. (6) fair and spirit leadership. (7) nice and humble, (8) tolerance and peace. This  is a kind of qualitative research by using descriptive method which can be used to describe data in the novel of Asma Nadia “RumahTanpa Jendela”. The steps in analyzing the data is First, describe the data which is related to the values of character education. Second, interprete the data that have been analyzed. Third, divide the  data according to the values of character education. Fourth, conclude the result of the reseach.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explain the process and the improvement of learning outcomes narrative expository writing skills aided mind mapping class VII. 2 SMP Negeri 2 Kamang Magek that is viewed from four expository narrative writing assessment indicators, namely expanding knowledge, convey an event in chronological order, reasoning, and use language that is informative. Based on the research’s results it can be concluded that the application of mind mapping can improve the process and learning outcomes narrative expository writing skills of students of class VII. 2 SMP Negeri 2 Kamang Magek Agam District. It can be seen in the significant average of mark. In preliminary observations (pre-cycle) the average is 50,79% then in first cycle is 67,46%, the second cycle is 90,48%.

Abstract

This article aims to (1) to describe form of using address form based on matrilineal progeny in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region. (2) to describe form and using address form based on marriage in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region, and (3) to describe the form and using no kinship address form, include tradition address form, religion address form, and job position in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudiak region, Batang Kapas sub-district, Pesisir Selatan district. This research is qualitative research by using descriptive method. The research data is address form in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region Batang Kapas sub-district Pesisir Selatan district. The source of this research is verbal source as a primary source uttered by informant as native speaker. The data is collected by using listening method, recording  technique and writing technique as continuation technique. The research finding is 23 matrilinial kinship address forms, 32 kinship address form based on marriage, whereas  no kinship address form are found  10 job position address form, 8 religion address form, and 3 tradition address forms in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region Batang Kapas sub-district, Pesisir Selatan district.

Abstract

The purposes of the study were to discribe the relation syntax competention and writed efective sentence in argumentation composition skill students class ten high school country one Lengayang.  The Subject of the study were students class ten high school country one Lengayang 2012/2013 (290 peoples). The sampel  taked used random sampling tekhnik were 150 % from population (42 peoples). The data were colected by objective test and worked test. The data analicist by description and the process by used corelation product moment with ten scale. The conclusion of the study were (1) mean syntax competention which writed by students were enougt kualification (C) with value 62,67; (2) mean writed efective sentence in argumentation composition werw enougt kualification (C) with value 65,5; (3) there were relation between syntax competention and writed efective sentence in argumentation composition skill students class ten high school country one Lengayang at freedom degree (dk) n-2 and significant level 5%.

Abstract

This article was wrote to (1) describle the form of directive speech act that was used by the teacher in teaching and learning process, (2) describle strategy of speech act of teacher in teaching and learning process at Nusa Indah kindergarten. The data of this study were directive speech act of teacher kindergarten. The primary source of data were speech act of teacher at Nusa Indah kindergarten. Data were collected by using observation methods and record technique and note taking as an advanced technique. The findings of the study showed that there are five form of directive speech act, which was command, appeal, suggest, advise and defy. Two strategy of speech act are the admittedly without platitude of speech act and the admittedly by platitude in positive manners of speech act.

Abstract

The purpose of this article was to describe the gender diffraction in novel La Grande Borne by Nh. Dini, evaluated from five aspects, (a) marginalization, (b) subordination, (c) stereotype, (d) violence, and (e) double work load. The data of this study was the sentences that refer to the gender diffraction.. The analyze technics were (1) describe the data, (2) analyze the data that refer to gender, (3) lnterpretated the unfair in gender, and (4) conclusion. The results of this study could be concluded that the women main character get the unfair gender. The unfairy of gender that had happened was the gender (a) marginalization, (b) woman subordination, (c) the woman stereotype, (d) the women violence,(e)double work load.
