Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the language errors contained in the Sinar Pagi newspaper news published in January 2021. Sinar Pagi newspaper is a newspaper that has a function to provide information on an event or hottest event that can be opened on the internet. This research began with the discovery of spelling errors in news published on January 30, 2021, for example in writing the word zoom meeting which was not italicized. In fact, the word zoom meeting is an element of a foreign language whose writing must be in italics. The method in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques using document studies and the method of listening, the instrument is a data card. Based on the results of the analysis found errors in the use of capital letters, writing italics, writing in bold, writing prepositions, writing standard words, writing abbreviations and acronyms, writing affixes, writing compound words, writing particles, writing numbers and numbers, and errors in word usage. connect at the beginning of the sentence. In addition to spelling errors, there were also errors in the use of punctuation marks which included errors in periods, commas, colons, hyphens, slashes, question marks, apostrophes, and the use of spaces, and errors in the use of hyphens at the beginning of sentences. The results of the research will be used as a learning module for News Text Writing in SMP class VIII. Keywords: Language Error, Newspaper, Module

Abstract

This study discusses the Semiotic Analysis of Moral Values in the Novel Dia Adalah Kakakku by Tere Liye and its Use as a Learning Module for Interpretation of Novel Text Meanings in SMA/SMK/MA. The purpose of this study is to describe the moral values contained in Tere Liye novel Dia Adalah Kakakku and to describe the use of moral values in Tere Liye's novel Dia Adalah Kakakku as a learning module for interpreting the meaning of novel texts in SMK/MA/SMA.  This research is a qualitative research using a semiotic approach. The data collection technique used in this study is the listening and note-taking technique. The subject of this research is the novel Dia Adalah Kakakku by Tere Liye. The instrument used in this research is a data card. The validity of the data was obtained through triangulation of theories, methods, and data sources. The problem in this study is that at this time the morals of the nation's children tend to be not good. The results of the study reveal that in the novel Dia Adalah Kakakku by Tere Liye there are four types of moral values, namely the human relationship with God consisting of morals towards God and knowing God, the relationship between humans and themselves consists of fighting power and diligence, human relationships with other humans consist of  kinship, help, mutual cooperation, courtesy, keeping promises, and forgiving and human relations with nature consist of taking out trash and caring for plants.  With regard to learning literature in schools, the results of this analysis can be used as material or learning materials in SMA/SMK/MA and these moral values can be used as examples in schools.Key word: Moral values, Dia Adalah Kakakku novel, Literature learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to describe cultural values in the context of character education consisting of: (1) the value of discipline, (2) the value of hard work, (3) the value of responsibility, (4) creative value, (5)independent value, (6) the value of curiosity, (7) the value of appreciation, (8) the value of friendly/communicative, (9) the value of peace love, (10) the value of reading fondness, (11) the value pf caring for the environment, and (12)the value of caring for social character education in the novel Circus Pohon by Andrea Hirata. the research method is descriptive with the type of qualitative method. The background of this research is the novel Circus Pohon by Andrea Hirata. the research entry is an event unit in the novel Circus Pohon by Andrea Hirata. the presence of researchers in this study as observers. In this research there is no specific information. The main instrument of this research is the researcher himself. Data collection techniques in this study are observation techniques. This type of observation in this study is non-participant because the subject under study is a novel. Analyzing research data adjusted to the flow of analyzing qualitative research data. The research data are cultural values in the context of character education consisting of 12. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to illustrate the following. First, describing the implementation of character education in write text of folk poetry in SMP Negeri 8 Padang including planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. Secondly, it describes the supporting and inhibiting factors of Indonesian language learning in SMP Negeri 8 Padang, which have character education. This research method is a combination of current triangulation design. The research sample was taken 25% with a proportional random sampling technique of 32 respondents. There are five results of this study. First, a learning plan consisting of a syllabus and a lesson plan (RPP) focuses on three character values, namely religious, creative, and collaboration. Second, the implementation of learning is supported by the results of interviews and the level of achievement of respondents preliminary activities (80.31%), core activities (77.43%), and closing activities (78.04%). Third, the assessment of learning shows an overall achievement level of 78.28% with a good category. Fourth, school programs, teachers, and facilities and infrastructure are supporting factors for learning Indonesian with character. Fifth, the lack of facilities and environmental influences is a barrier to the realization of character education in learning. Kata Kunci: Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter dan Pembelajaran Menulis Teks Puisi Rakyat

Abstract

The purpose of this study were threefold, namely, first to describe the text structure of the fable written by grade VII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. Second, to describe the elements of the text of the fable written by the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. Third, to describe the use of EBI in the fable text created by grade VII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. The data in this study is an analysis of the structure, elements, and spelling of Indonesian in the text of the fable created by grade VII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. Based on the results of the research that has been analyzed, it can be concluded that three things are: First, in writing fable texts, seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang have used the four fable text structures, namely orientation, complications, resolution, and code. Second, in terms of elements, grade VII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang have used the right elements. Third, in terms of spelling, grade VII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang are generally unable to use EBI correctly. Many mistakes occur when writing capital letters, commas, and periods.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect before using the SQ4R method on reading comprehension skills of class IX students of MTsN 4 Pesisir Selatan and after using the SQ4R method on reading comprehension skills of grade IX students of MTsN 4 Pesisir Selatan. This research is an experimental research with a research design used One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were students of class IX MTsN 4 Pesisir Selatan. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data of this study were the scores from the reading comprehension skills of class IX students of MTsN 4 Pesisir Selatan before and after using the SQ4R method. Data were analyzed by t-test. The results of this study show that there is an effect before and after using the SQ4R method on reading comprehension skills of class IX students of MTsN 4 Pesisir Selatan, namely tvalue> ttable (4.85> 1.67). The average reading comprehension skills of class IX MTsN 4 Pesisir Selatan students after using the SQ4R method was higher than before using the SQ4R method (92.31> 48.72). Thus it can be concluded that the SQ4R method has a significant effect on reading comprehension skills of class IX students of MTsN 4 Pesisir Selatan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article explains the language politeness of students with Indonesian language teachers through WhtasApp social media at SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. There are four objectives of the research. First, describe the communication ethics of students with Indonesian language teachers through WhatsApp social media at SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. The second describes the principle of politeness according to Leech, students and Indonesian language teachers through WhatsApp social media at SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. The third describes the language politeness scale according to Leech students and Indonesian language teachers through WhatsApp social media at SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. The fourth describes the language politeness of students with Indonesian language teachers through WhatsApp social media at SMP Negeri 2 Bukittinggi. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data in this study were junior high school students' speech to the teacher via WhatsApp social media. Researchers took data from thirty students consisting of grade 7, grade, and grade 9. Data was collected by asking directly to the data source and completed by interviewing Indonesian language teachers to strengthen the data. There are four research results. First, from the 35 existing data, it was found that 31 data had good ethics. Second, students generally have applied the principle of politeness according to Leech. Third, students generally apply the politeness scale in language. Fourth, from 35 data on WhatsApp messages between students and Indonesian language teachers, 25 polite data were found. Kata kunci: Kesantunan, etika, maksim sopan santun, skala pragmatik, WhatsApp

Abstract

There are five objectives of this research. First, describe the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of sentence structure. Second, describe the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of logical meaning. The third describes the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of word standard. Fourth, describe the sentence in terms of word savings. Fifth, describe sentences in terms of spelling accuracy. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data in this study are sentences in the explanatory text of class XI students of SMAN 13 Padang. Furthermore, the data sources in this study were twenty-five student assignments in writing explanatory texts for class XI SMAN 13 Padang in the 2020/2021 school year. The research instrument is the researcher himself. The data validation technique used in this research is triangulation technique. There are five results of this study. First, the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of structural clarity, there are 48 wrongs. Second, the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of logical meaning, there are 68 wrongs. Third, the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of the standard of words there are 73 wrongs. Fourth, the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of word savings contained 115 wrongs. Fifth, the effectiveness of the sentence in terms of the use of spelling which includes the use of capital letters, punctuation periods, and commas, there are 57 wrongs. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the sentences in the explanatory text of the XI grade students of SMAN 13 Padang is in poor qualification. This is evidenced by the 234 sentences found in this study, only 76 sentences were effective, while 158 sentences were ineffective. Kata Kunci : Kalimat Efektif, Teks Eksplanasi, Siswa

Abstract

This study aims to describe the following things. First, to describe the presentation of online learning at SMP N Kota Sawahlunto? Second, to describe the interaction of online learning at SMP N Kota Sawahlunto? Third, to describe the evaluation of online learning at SMP N Kota Sawahlunto?. This type of research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. Qualitative data in this study is complemented by quantitative data. Qualitative data will be obtained from observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, quantitative data will be obtained from the results of the questionnaire. The sources of data in this study were four Indonesian language teachers and 80 grade VIII students of Sawahlunto City State Junior High School. The instrument in this study was the researcher himself for qualitative data and for the quantitative data instrument was a questionnaire. Data is analyzed by describing, analyzing, and discussing data based on theory. The theory used is the theory of online learning in Indonesian language learning. The research results are as follows. First, the implementation of online learning of Indonesian language subjects at SMP N Sawahlunto City can be said to be good if viewed from the perspective of online learning, teachers of Indonesian subjects at SMP Negeri Sawahlunto City have shown their efforts related to aspects of online learning presentations, online learning interactions, and evaluation of learning online.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the form of expressive speech acts used by Indonesian teachers and describe what are the Indonesian teacher's speech strategies in the teaching and learning process in class X of SMK Negeri 6 Padang.  This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this study are sentences in the form and strategy of expressive speech acts of teachers Indonesian class X of SMK Negeri 6 Padang in the teaching and learning process with the data source of one of the teachers Indonesian during the teaching and learning process. This research instrument is the author himself and is assisted by supporting instruments in the form of recording devices (cellphones) and stationery. Data collection techniques use passive pasticipation observation. The data validation technique uses the traingulation technique. The results of this study are 1) the form of teacher's expressive speech act in learning Indonesian class X SMK Negeri 6 Padang consists of expressive speech act of criticizing, expressive speech act of praise, expressive speech act of blame, and expressive speech act of apologizing, 2) Teacher speech strategy in learning Indonesian class X SMK Negeri 6 Padang consists of a strategy of speaking frankly without further ado,  The strategy of speaking frankly with positive politeness, the strategy of speaking frankly with negative politeness, and the strategy of speaking samr-vaguely.
