Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of jump to box and squat jump training using the short interval method on increasing the explosive power of leg muscles and smash ability of Diamond VC volleyball club athletes in 2024. The research location was carried out at the Diamond VC Club training ground, Jl. Alfaka V Tanjung Mulia Hilir, Medan, North Sumatra. The population in this study was 23 athletes with a sample of 10 athletes selected using Purposive Sampling technique. This research uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques in this research carried out by pretest and posttest, while data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing. The results of this study show that there is a significant influence between Jump To Box and Squat Jump training using the short interval method on increasing the explosive power of leg muscles and the smash ability of Diamond VC Volleyball Club athletes. This can be seen from the results of the research which shows that the explosive power of leg muscles increases and the athlete's smash ability with jump to box and squat jump training using the short interval method with the pretest and posttest r calculated value of leg muscle explosive power using the vertical jump measurement test is Tcount 8.387 > Ttable 1.833 while the pretest and posttest score for the smash test is Tcount. 5.277 > Ttable 1.833 at a significance level of 5% and degrees of freedom (db) = n-2 (10-2) = 8. Because Tcount > Ttable it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between Jump To Box and Squat Jump training with the interval method short on increasing the explosive power of the leg muscles of Diamond VC Volleyball Club athletes in 2024

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of skipping training on increasing wrist flexibility and leg power strength in JR19 badminton academy athletes. This study used an experimental approach by measuring significant changes in wrist flexibility and leg power before and after the implementation of skipping training. Sample of 18 people, 10 boys and 8 girls. The research design used One Group Pre test and Post test Desaign. From the results of the prestest descriptive test, the average value of the wrist flexibility test from pre test to post test shows a significant increase. It is known that the sig value (p-value) for testing the pre test with the post test = 0.008, it can be concluded that the sig value (p-value) for testing the pre test with the post test is 0.008 and 0.008 < α = 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of skipping training to increase leg power in JR19 badminton academy athletes. The results of the skipping exercise research have a significant effect on increasing wrist flexibility and leg muscle power in JR19 badminton academy athletes

Abstract

Sports have developed very rapidly, but behind this progress, sports are still an arena where gender discrimination and inequality often occur. Gender discrimination in sports is not only related to physical differences, but also includes unequal treatment, which often disadvantages one gender (usually women). This study aims to determine discrimination and injustice in the field due to gender deviations in sports. This study is a conceptual study with a literature study method to analyze the impact of gender deviations in sports, especially related to discrimination and injustice. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through Google Scholar, by selecting relevant journals published in the last ten years, and considering influential classic literature. The conclusion of this study is that there are 7 types of discrimination and injustice due to gender deviations in sports including inequality in involvement and opportunities, discrimination in access to facilities and resources, significant differences in compensation and recognition, harassment and violence related to gender, inequality in leadership positions and decision-making processes, and negative impacts on mental and psychological health are the main issues that need attention in the world of sports

Abstract

The level of physical fitness, particularly VO2max, plays a crucial role for sports science students in enhancing athletic performance, health, and injury prevention. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the VO2max capability levels of new students in the Sports Science Program at Universitas PGRI Madiun for the 2024 cohort. It also explores methodologies for measuring VO2max, including the Multi-stage Fitness Test (MFT). The findings aim to equip new students with the necessary knowledge to apply this understanding in their future careers. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method, collecting data using the Multi-stage Fitness Test (MFT). Results revealed that 75% of students fell into the "very poor" and "poor" categories for VO2max levels. Factors such as gender, age, sports background, genetics, and environment were found to influence VO2max variations. These findings underscore the need for fitness improvement programs through regular exercise and healthy lifestyle practices to support students' physical health, aerobic capacity, and academic success

Abstract

The aim of the research in this study was to add variations to zig-zag run training on the agility of Pengcab KKI North Lampung kumite karate athletes. The research uses the R n D method (Research and Development), researchers developed existing agility training products and then modified them again according to needs. Of the four development steps, researchers limited only two steps to collecting information and planning zig zag run training products at Pengcab KKI North Lampung. This research uses data collection techniques, namely literature review this means that the researcher looks for several theoretical sources related to the research. The results of research on the development of zig zag run training in gathering information contained several problems including lack of targeted training, lack of training program structure, training focused heavily on other aspects of physical training, and lack of variety in agility training. Product planning includes a variety of structured exercises with zig zag exercises using cone, variation of the zig zag run exercise by circling cone, and variations of the zig zag run exercise with running sprint forward and run sideways past cone
