Abstract

The existence of the community information group (Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat/ KIM) plays the strategic role in establishing the human resources. Furthermore, this community holds its capacity as both the social community and non-formal organization, oftentimes doing a direct interaction with the people. This scrutiny is to analyze the patterns of communication run by the community information group in Lumbangrejo, Jatiarjo and Tretes villages, which are parts of the Prigen sub-district, Pasuruan Regency, East Java.This qualitative research is set out through a descriptive case study method, which is through investigating the real-life contexts phenomena, by taking advantage of various resources. The type of this study is a descriptive, that only describes or shows the cases in more depth. The outcome of this probe is to reveal the communication patterns of the community information group above in undertaking its role as the disseminators of information, technology, and innovation to the public.The conclusion of this analysis figures that patterns of communication applied in the community information group of Prigen Subdistrict, Pasuruan Regency, are the combinations amid interpersonal communication, utilization of technology and two ways communication. Nonetheless, as the part of opinion leaders, this community yet needs to strengthen its human resources in the form of transformation of both expertise and automation, whether it is supported by the government, universities, and NGOs. Thus, performance can be significantly optimal.

Abstract

Love Bay, which is located in Payangan Hamlet, Sumberrejo Village, Ambulu District, Jember Regency, is one of the most popular tourist destinations today. The word "Love" is taken from English which means love. The bay shape which resembles a heart is the first thing why the name of “Love Bay” is given to. Why is the Love Bay Brand chosen, among many words like Teluk Cinta, Teluk Hati, Teluk Asmara and others? Therefore, the researcher is interested in analyzing the Brand of Love Bay. This research entitled Textual Analysis of the Brand of Love Bay Becomes a Popular Tourist Destination in Jember Regency was studied using a qualitative descriptive approach using textual analysis techniques. The results of this study are the word "love" in Love Bay has a higher prestige value because it is considered slang and contemporary. From the business perspective, the word "love" is easier to remember as a product brand, it also has a higher selling value because it is very familiar to the public, especially young the juvenile. In addition, the society's perceptions of the word "love" vary in giving rise for the high curiosity and the major attraction for tourists on visiting Love Bay. The role of social media has become one of the factors of success in branding Love Bay as the popular tourist destination in Jember Regency. Keywords: Textual analysis, brand, a tourist destination

Abstract

Tradisi Komunikasi di Pondok Pesantren memiliki keunikan tersendiri, ada dua jenis Pondok Pesantren, Di kabupaten Jember terdapat banyak Pondok Pesantren Tradisional maupun Modern, dan salah satu yang menjadi lokus dalam penelitian ini adalah Pondok Pesantren Tradisional Situbondo, yaitu pondok yang masih mempertahankan cara lama dalam pengelolaan lembaga dan kurikulum. Kemudian Pondok Pesantren Modern Modern, yaitu Pondok pesantren yang menganut pendidikan integral mulai dari pendidikan usia dini hingga sekolah menengah pertama, ponpes tersebut menampung beberapa anak asuh (santri) yang bermukim di dalam pondok. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada perbedaan tradisi Komunikasi yang terjadi didua pondok pesantren (tradisional dan modern) dengan karater yang berbeda, kemudian mengetahui perbedaan cara berkomunikasi yang terbangun antara seorang kiai dengan ustadz, Ustadz dengan santri, santri dengan ustadz dan komunikasi santri dengan kiai. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah menemukan perbedaan sekaligus persamaan dari tradisi komunikasi antara pesantren tradisional dengan pesantren modern. Peneliti menggunakan Teori interaksi simbolik. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara tidak terstruktur dan studi dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, display data, kesimpulan dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan, bahwa perbedaan tradisi antara pondok pesantren tradisional dengan modern sangat signifikan, terutama dalam hal kurikulum pembelajaran, metode dan juga sistem pendidikan yang dipakai. An editor of electronic media has the authority to determine what news is appropriate to be displayed, and disseminated. Editor of Kompas TV has the right to display and not display a news, there is even news that can air more than once on a different day, there is news that does not show because there is news that aired first and the time is up for the news segment. Kompas TV Makassar also has several terms and conditions in assessing how feasible a news can be displayed so that it can become public consumption. Abstract

This research uses interpretative paradigm with qualitative method through data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews. The discussed phenomenon through qualitative descriptive frames were public relations practices that occurred in Bangka Belitung Province government by targeting public relations expert-level institutions, and skilled level institutions of public relations as a research subject that was reinforced with department heads and the assessment team as professionals are considered able to provide an assessment of the role of institutions of public relations aim to strengthen and obtain the deep of data. Total respondents were 38 people selected through purposive sampling with details social institution 20 people and experts as many as 9 people, added by 4 heads of agencies that were superior institution of public relations, as well as 5 people who assessed the dupak directly. The results showed that the public relations practices in Bangka Belitung were measured through categorization namely the understanding of public relation practitioners to define the public relations and its duties, the position and role of public relations practitioners in each agency, vertical and horizontal responses accepted by public relations practitioners in agencies, and the communication model in the scope of the Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung has not ideal yet. The public relations practice that refers to the Permenpan-RB standard cannot yet be maximally implemented because it is constrained by many factors including the superior policy factor. Meanwhile the implications of the implementation of Permenpan-RB are the facilities of public relations in carrying out their duties because the Permenpan is the reference standard. The public relations tasks are also directed, focused and planned. Permenpan-RB is also a legal basis for Bangka Belitung’s public relations in their steps. Keywords : Public relations roles, technical roles, government managers, public relations, Broom and Dozier

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuanuntukmengetahuitanggapan mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi Fisipol Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember yang sering mengikuti (mendengarkan) program Potret Wanita di radio Prosalina FM, serta dampaknya. Dalam penelitian ini, analisa yang digunakan adalah deksriptif kuliatatif, sedangkan teori yang digunakan adalah Uses and Gratifications” Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa a)tanggapan mahasiswa Fisipol UMJ bahwa program siaran potret wanita sudah disajikan dengan cukup baik, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan publik, b) Penyampaian materi yang disajikan sesuai pengetahuan mutakhir, c) Program Siaran Potret Wanita menjadi salah satu program yang cukup bagusuntuk kepentingan pendengar/khalayak khususnya kaum wanita, d) pendengar masih banyak diminati oleh kaum perempuan/wanita mulai dari remaja hingga usia tua dan memberikan dampak yang positif.

Abstract

This Paper aims to find out how the dynamics of Muhammadiyah's requirements in the Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta during the 2019 election period on the candidate for the nomination of the senator who will serve as the board of Regional representative of the Republic of Indonesia. In conducting this research the author collects data in the form of polls and interviews with representatives of Muhammadiyah cadre of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, then the data that authors acquire in the surgical use of personality theory that was triggered by Raymond Cattell as the surgical knife of the analysis. The results of this study show that Muhammadiyah still has to increase the political awareness of cadres to be more given the political situation. Even though the culture of an excellent organic cadre has established in the natural cadres of Muhammadiyah, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, the culture needs to be maintained and enhanced to harmony in Muhammadiyah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the construction of the media on Ahok's preaching in the polemic on Al-Maidah 51 (analysis of framing on kompas.com and republika.co.id edition 27 September - 27 December 2016). The research method used is a qualitative research method framing analysis of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki models. The results of the framing analysis of Ahok in Polemik Surat Al-Maidah 51 that, news articles published by the two online news portals are not neutral. Kompas.com, looks very strongly in defense of Ahok, while Republika.co.id looks very strongly in defense of Muslims. Group affiliation and interest sentiment are very influential in this news. Abstract

Industri kreatif telematika menjadi tumpuan harapan dalam mempercepat peningkatan sosial ekonomi nasional, sebagaimana tertuang dalam Inpres RI Nomor: 6/2009, dan disusul Permenperin RI Nomor: 16/M-IND/PER/2/2011 tentang industri elektronika dan telematik, karena berpeluang mengatasi problematika ketenagakerjaan melalui gerakan technopreneurship. Studi etnografi mengenai keseimbangan komunikasi dalam penguatan identitas, telah dapat mengungkap keberadaan komunitas kreatif telematika di kota Malang untuk menunjukkan peran sentral dalam perubahan sosia  Melalui tindakan relasi kelembagaan yang dikonstruksikannya, ternyata mampu melakukan rekayasa terintegratif, berproses menuju semakin menguatnya identitas sosio-kultural, dan mempertunjukkannya dengan menguasai teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) sebagai medianya. Inilah urgensi dari hasil studi yang faktanya dapat diikuti melalui kehidupan sehari-hari insan kreatif sebagai representasi komunitas. Dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan subjektif-interpretif, melibatkan 9 informan kunci sebagai anggota komunitas kreatif yang memiliki relasi kuat dengan 3 industri telematika sudah berbadan usaha. Melalui studi yang telah dilaksanakan selama 2 tahun ini, telah memberikan 3 tawaran konsep pengembangannya antara lain: (1) penggiatan fasilitasi untuk meningkatkan kapasitas SDM; (2) memperkuat relasi dan komunikasi menuju jaringan komunitas yang adaptif; dan (3) akses permodalan dan produksi sebagai stimulan bagi kelembagaan komunitas. Abstract

This study aims to describe the Opinion of the Village Community of Kertosari Jember Regarding Changes in the Final Waste Management Site (TPA) into Educational Tourism Objects by using a type of qualitative research through a descriptive approach obtained from primary and secondary data through observation, interviews and documentation using the data analysis model Miles and Huberman with steps Data Collection, Data Reduction, Data Presentation, and Data Verificationdone in a way to get the actual data.In this study it was found that public opinion and visitors were positive and negative. The positive thing is that some of them agree with the TPA change to become a tourist attraction because it has benefits for the surrounding community and visitors who come for example as a place to take pictures,educational sites such as learning waste processing, recycling waste, making compost, and making methane gas. The negative thing about odors that interfere with breathing causes the health of the community to be disturbed, especially young children, and polluted river water due to the presence of rubbish deposits. From this it can be concluded that the surrounding community was disturbed by the pungent odorin the village and the water that becomes cloudy, this can be overcome by communication between the landfill manager and the surrounding community so that the community feels comfortable with the TPA in the village.Keywords: Community Opinion, Waste Final Processing Site (TPA), Educational Tourism.
