Abstract

The emergence of Communication Science in Indonesia was related to the history of this science in Europe and America. The term “communication science” (America’s tradition) was noted to have replaced “Publisistic” (German’s tradition). M. Alwi Dahlan is an important figure behind that. Communication Science then has been developing, but still dominated by applied studies. Whereas to be a discipline, the study of history and philosophy of science shouldn’t be ignored. Furthermore, the development of a science indicates the contribution of it’s intellctuals. Here is the importance of studying Dahlan’s thoughts on communication. The researcher applied a Gadamerian perspective hermeneutic to interpret Dahlan’s writings between 1980-1990s. Based on metanarrative awareness and the spirit of non-Western perspective studies, the researcher has explored them through hermeneutic circle until getting creative meanings (Bildung). The conclusion is that Dahlan’s contribution is contextualizing or bringing Communication Science ‘down to earth’ in Indonesia especially related to development, environment, information-technology, through an eclectic perspective and by which human being as a key resource. Dahlan’s ideas has significance in the development of history and philosophy of Communication Science. Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada promosi eduwiwata yang dikembangkan oleh Pusat Penelitian Kopi dan Kakao Indonesia (Puslitkoka). Eduwisata Coffee and Cacao Science Techno Park (CCSTP) ini diresmikan pada bulan Mei 2016 ini. Dalam kurun waktu 18 bulan telah banyak dikunjungi masyarakat dan menjadi objek wisata alternatif bagi masyarakat Jember dan sekitarnya. Pe neliti tertarik mengkaji komunikasi pemasaran terpadu yang dikembangkan oleh Pusat Penelitian Kopi dan Kakao Indonesia dalam mempromosikan eduwisata. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif deskriptif dimana peneliti menjabarkan berbagai alat promosi yang dikembangkan Puslitkoka. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara melakukan wawancara mendalam pada pengelola Eduwisata CCSTP Puslitkoka dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan triangulasi baik data, metode dan teori. Hasil penelitian adalah strategi komunikasi pemasaran terpadu yang digunakan CCSTP antara lain komunikasi personal (promosi dari mulut ke mulut), media sosial IWJ dan personal selling (melakukan presentasi ke sekolah-sekola, lembaga pemerintah dan perusahaan. Diantara tiga alat promosi ini yang paling efektif adalah komunikasi personal dimana pendekatan personal dalam lebih mempersuasi calon pengunjung secara optimal. Abstract

Skripsi ini mengkaji tentang Strategi Komunikasi Pemasaran Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga yang menarik untuk diteliti, karena pada saat ini Kabupaten Situbondo kaya akan keberagaman potensi wisata. Akan tetapi, Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga belum mampu memaksimalkan peran penting dalam pengembangan objek wisata yang dimiliki. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan strategi komunikasi pemasaran dan hambatan Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga dalam upaya mengembangkan pariwisata di Kabupaten Situbondo. Penelitian dilakukan di lokasi Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga Kabupaten Situbondo. Adapun permasalahan dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana strategi komunikasi pemasaran dan hambatan Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga dalam upaya mengembangkan pariwisata di Kabupaten Situbondo. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif paradigma kualitatif melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu observasi pendahuluan, wawancara dan dokumentasi yang berkaitan dengan strategi komunikasi pemasaran Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi komunikasi pemasaran Dinas Pariwisata, Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga dalam upaya mengembangkan sektor pariwisata dengan melakukan tahapan pendataan/inventarisasi, perencanaan, dan pelaksanaan. Selanjutnya hambatan yang ditemukan dalam proses penyusunan strategi pemasaran adalah minimnya komunikator, pesan, dan media serta sarana dan prasarana yang kurang memadai.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the acculturation of inter-ethnic Javanese language and ethnic Madurese in Jember regency. This study uses qualitative research methods in descriptive form. The author raises the theme of acculturation Pendalungan culture is based on observations in the community of Pendalungan Jember which uses two languages at once when communicating. This uniqueness is the attraction of this new culture to be studied. Javanese culture and Madurese culture that merge into one and form a new culture gives color to cultural diversity in Indonesia. This unique Pendalungan dialect is only found in Jember Regency. The problem in this research is how the acculturation of Javanese language and Madurese language in Pendalungan culture, Factors that influence the occurrence of acculturation of Javanese and Madurese languages in Pendalungan culture, obstacles to the acculturation of Javanese and Madurese languages in Pendalungan culture. The results of this study indicate that the acculturation of Javanese and Madurese languages occurs due to migration of residents from other regions to Jember Regency. The cause of the acculturation of Javanese and Madurese languages in Jember is due to historical factors, social and economic contacts. Some obstacles to the acculturation of Javanese and Madurese languages in Jember are ethnocentric, native cultural backgrounds, and languages

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the form, difference and how many beauty standard effects were shown up on Imperfect: Karier, Cinta Timbangan movie. The form of beauty standard effects that shown up on the movie have a different frequencies in the whole movie. The population of this research is the whole scene of Imperfect: Karier, Cinta Timbangan as many as 98 scenes. Coding between the coders based on coding book and coding guides that was made by the researcher. This research is using quantitative method and descriptive research. The data will use the one-way anova test for finding out the signification of the difference on beauty standard effects and table of frequency for finding out the form of beauty standard effects percentage on the whole scenes of the movie.

Abstract

Films always influence and shape society based on the message of a film. The messages or values that can be in the film can affect the audience cognitively, affectively and conatively. The film Mulan 2020 tells the story of the life of a soldier named Mulan. In this film, female characters are depicted as active narrative objects and carry the message of feminism. The topic of feminism has attracted the attention of researchers because so far women are often portrayed only as passive narrative objects, even the main erotic objects in films. The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning of semiotic code regarding feminism at the level of reality, level of representation and level of ideology. To achieve the objectives of the researcher. The researcher uses a qualitative approach with semiotic analysis based on television codes which are divided into three levels, namely the level of reality, the level of representation and the level of ideology. The results of the study show the values of feminism at the level of reality through the code of appearance, make-up, costumes, speech, environment and behavior. At the level of representation, feminism values are shown through camera codes, characters, actions, conflicts and dialogues. At the ideological level, the values of feminism which are represented by women and nature have a close and inseparable relationship.

Abstract

Kopiko is a coffee-flavoured candy brand from Indonesia produced by PT Mayora Indah Tbk. The appearance of the Kopiko candy advertisement in the Korean drama Vincenzo had made Indonesian audiences excited. Although Kopiko's products are known to several countries and produce advertisements regularly, Indonesians are indifferent and don't even know about it. This phenomenon is interesting to study from the aspect of marketing communication where Kopiko tries to use alternative marketing strategies by becoming a sponsor in a Korean Drama. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by analyzing the phenomenon of kopiko advertisements that appear in the Korean drama Vincenzo widely and clearly. Korean dramas have been accepted by the Indonesian people, especially their fans. In this study, it was found that the number of Korean drama fans in Indonesia, Kopiko's reputation, the impact of staying at home during the Covid 19 pandemic until the trade cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea was signed further paved the way for Kopiko to become a sponsor in the Korean drama Vincenzo 2021.

Abstract

The pandemic has been going on for a year, Indonesia, like other countries, has been constructing some policies in dealing with it. One of the policies is vaccination program, which is a step to create herd immunity. The role of mass media in informing government’s program is extremely significant. However, mass media does not work in a vacuum, there is a frame by which they construct some phenomenon into a news. This research is done to understand the media construction made by detik.com and Kompas.com in their vaccination news. Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis is being used. Using framing technique, the role of media in constructing certain phenomenon can be found. Vaccination news can be categorized into three: 1) Framing towards news regarding President; 2) Framing towards news regarding people’s disbelief in vaccination and 3) Framing towards vaccine management and data. This research shows that detik.com and Kompas.com has biases towards government’s policies in vaccination program. Aside from supporting the policies, both medias have some control for those policies. This control can be shown by their introducing the vaccine program to society. The people’s disbelief in the vaccines indicates the lack of the government’s participation in the vaccine’s introduction and exposure. This is also true in regards to vaccine management and data. In conveying information, Kompas.com is more informative and comprehensive.

Abstract

Indonesian is a very rich language originating from various regional languages throughout Indonesia which stretches from Sabang to Merauke. Of the 668 regional languages in Indonesia, there are several regional languages that are very influential for the development of the Indonesian language to date.Javanese is one of the languages that has the most influence on Indonesian vocabulary, in addition to Malay, Banjarese, Manadonese, Sasak, Sundanese, Bugis, and other regional languages.Javanese is the first language of the Javanese population living in Central Java Province, Special Region of Jogjakarta, East Java, Banten, Lampung, around Medan, transmigration areas in Indonesia, among others, parts of Riau, Jambi, Central Kalimantan, and several places in Indonesia. abroad, namely Suriname, the Netherlands, New Caledonia, and the West Coast of JohorThe scope of this research covers the entire area of the city of Jember which is covered by the “Suara Akbar” radio wave on the 94.6 FM frequency.This study uses qualitative methods. The data used are sourced from or obtained through interviews, field notes, personal notes and other official documents.

Abstract

The culture of Pandalungan is still in the process of finding its identity. Two cultures as the main ingredients, namely Madura and Javanese culture continue to complement and complement each other so that the Pandalungan culture has distinctive characteristics from the original culture. When an analogy, Pandalungan culture is like a large pot that accommodates two major cultures, namely Madura and Java, so that it becomes a distinctive culture of the Pandalungan people, especially those in Jember. Melenial adolescents are a generation that is expected to be able to develop, give color and at the same time love Pandalungan culture. Whereas melenial ramaja like ramaja in general are teenagers who are in the process of finding their identity. Often they are proud of the outside culture, forgetting their own culture which is probably better than the outside culture. From the phenomena above, it is appropriate for the researcher to discuss the challenge, how the acculturation of Pandalungan culture in the view of Jember melenial adolescents and what is the obstacle to the acculturation. The theory used is the theory of intercultural communication, namely cultural acculturation. It is a social process when two cultures meet and will give rise to a new culture but it does not eliminate the culture they already have. Furthermore, the method used is descriptive qualitative, while the Jember area is the choice because the Jember area is very Pandalungan compared to other hoof areas. The result is that melenial adolescents do not understand Pandalungan culture and do not pay attention, but in fact they support the growth and development of Pandalungan culture. While the obstacles faced in the development of the Pandalungan culture are 1. there are cultural differences that Madurese are still Madurese and Javanese are also Javanese 2. They do not care about the Pandalungan culture. 3. limited form of Pandalungan culture and 4. Increasing influence of pop culture
