Abstract

This study addresses the problem of the traditional "one-size-fits-all" approach in teaching Fiqih (Islamic Jurisprudence), which often fails to engage a diverse student population and hinders deep comprehension within the context of Indonesia's student-centered Merdeka Curriculum. Therefore, this research aims to describe and analyze the implementation of Differentiated Instruction (DI) in Fiqih classes. Employing a qualitative case study method, data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with the Fiqih teacher and students, and analysis of lesson plans and student work at MTs Muhammadiyah Tanjung Ampalu. The findings, as answers to the research objective, reveal that DI was systematically implemented through: 1) differentiation of content via varied resources (texts, infographics, videos); 2) differentiation of process through activity choices (discussions, mind-maps, simulations); and 3) differentiation of product by allowing diverse outputs (posters, videos, essays). This approach significantly enhanced student engagement and understanding. A key limitation of this study is its restricted generalizability, as it is confined to a single case study context, suggesting the need for broader, multi-site future research.

Abstract

The global rise of religious radicalism necessitates educational strategies promoting moderate Islam, particularly in Indonesia. Muhammadiyah addresses this through its ISMUBA curriculum (Al-Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan, Arabic), though systematic analysis of its content remains unexplored. This study evaluates the integration of Wasathiyah values (Tasamuh, Tawazun, Tajdid, Maslahah, ‘Adalah, Anti-Extremism) within ISMUBA textbooks used in Muhammadiyah senior high schools in Padang. Employing qualitative content analysis with triangulation (document analysis, classroom observation, and interviews), this research reveals a deliberate and multi-layered embedding of Wasathiyah values. Findings demonstrate explicit doctrinal framing in Kemuhammadiyahan, contextual integration in Al-Islam, and implicit transmission in Arabic materials, showcasing strong alignment with Muhammadiyah’s ideological mission of promoting progressive Islam. The study’s novelty lies in its systematic mapping of value representation and its methodological triangulation, addressing gaps in prior research focused solely on pedagogy or higher education. A key limitation is its exclusive focus on content and pedagogy, excluding student reception. Future research should investigate how students internalize these values across diverse socio-cultural contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate Wordwall based learning media tailored to student characteristics in Islamic Cultural History at Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah. By focusing on Wordwall learning media development, this research addresses the need for innovative digital tools in Islamic education. This research emploted the Research and Development (RD) method, following the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, using both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Initial findings indicated a dominance of visual and kenaesthetics learning styles among students. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The development process successfully followed the five stages of the ADDIE model; 2) Expert validation yielded a score of 91.66% form both media and material specialists, categorising the media as “highly feasible”; 3) The effectiveness test showed significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with N-Gain scores in limited trials reaching 0.87 (87% effectiveness) for auditory/visual styles and 0.88 (88%) for kinaesthetic styles. In broader trials, N-Gain scores reached 0.93 (93%) for visual, 0.92 (92%) for auditory, and 0.86 (86%) for kinaesthetic styles, all falling within the “highly effective” category; 4) Practicality tests resulted in average scores of 3.5 from teachers and 3.4 from students, both classified as “higly practical”. It is concluded that the character based Wordwall media for the Sunan Kalijaga topic is a valid, practical, and highly effective tool for enhanching student learning outcomes in Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the roles of mothers and fathers in guiding Islamic spirituality and health among children with disabilities. This research uses a systematic literature review approach by analyzing peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that parenting grounded in Islamic spiritual values, particularly the concept of children as a divine trust (amanah), significantly contributes to family resilience and child well-being. Modeling behavior and direct religious practices are identified as the most effective methods for spiritual development. In addition, religious coping plays a crucial role in reducing parental stress and improving psychological well-being. The roles of mothers and fathers are complementary, where mothers act as primary caregivers and fathers support decision-making and family stability. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating spiritual dimensions into parenting strategies for children with disabilities.Keyword: Islamic spirituality; disability; parenting; religious coping

Abstract

The development of neuroscience has significantly influenced contemporary educational studies, particularly in understanding brain development and learning processes. However, studies integrating neuroembryology and Islamic education remain limited, especially in constructing a neuro-pedagogical framework based on brain development. This study aims to analyze the integration of neuroembryology and Islamic education in developing a brain development-based neuro-pedagogical framework. This research employed a qualitative approach using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method guided by the PRISMA framework. Data were collected from scientific articles indexed in Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, DOAJ, and Google Scholar published between 2019 and 2025. A total of 42 relevant articles were analyzed using content analysis and thematic synthesis techniques. The findings reveal that neuroembryology has a significant relationship with learning readiness, emotional regulation, cognitive development, and character formation. The study also found that the principles of brain-based learning are substantially aligned with Islamic educational values such as fitrah, tarbiyah, ta’dib, tazkiyah, and akhlaq development. Based on the synthesis results, this study proposes a conceptual framework of Islamic neuro-pedagogy integrating neuroembryology, brain-based learning, and Islamic educational values into a holistic learning model. This research contributes theoretically to the integration of neuroscience and Islamic education and practically to the development of curriculum design, learning strategies, and neuroscience-based Islamic educational practices.Keyword: Neuroembryology, Islamic education, neuroscience, brain-based learning, neuro-pedagogy.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of the ideal human being (manusia utama) in  HAMKA’s thought as a formulation of Islamic humanistic ethics grounded in the integration of faith, reason, and moral virtue. The study is motivated by the contemporary humanitarian crisis characterized by moral degradation, materialism, individualism, and spiritual disorientation, which necessitates a reconstruction of Islamic thought capable of presenting an integral concept of the ideal human person. The research aims to analyze  HAMKA’s concept of the ideal human being, explain the ethical structure that shapes it, and explore its relevance in addressing contemporary human challenges. This study employs a qualitative library research method with a philosophical-analytical approach. Primary sources include  HAMKA’s major works, namely Falsafah Hidup, Tasawuf Modern, Lembaga Budi, and Tafsir al-Azhar, while secondary sources are drawn from relevant scholarly literature. The findings reveal that, in  HAMKA’s perspective, the ideal human being is not only spiritually pious but also possesses social and civilizational responsibility. Faith serves as the foundation of moral formation, while reason functions as an instrument of humanization that guides individuals toward wisdom. Furthermore, virtues such as iffah (self-restraint), ‘adalah (justice), syaja‘ah (courage), and hikmah (wisdom) constitute the ethical foundation that produces moral integrity. This study contributes to the development of Islamic philosophy and Islamic humanism by demonstrating that  HAMKA’s thought offers a religious-humanistic ethical paradigm that remains relevant in addressing the moral and spiritual crises of modern society. Keywords: HAMKA, ideal human being, Islamic humanism, Islamic ethics, morality

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the functions of the peripheral nervous system and autonomic nervous system as the neurobiological foundation of learning and to examine their relevance in strengthening the theoretical framework of neuroscience-based Islamic education. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review method involving 30 scholarly articles covering health neuroscience, autonomic nervous system research, neuroeducation, neuromyths, and neuroscience-based Islamic education. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis and narrative synthesis to identify relationships among nervous system functions, learning processes, and Islamic educational concepts. The findings indicate that the autonomic nervous system plays a significant role in regulating attention, memory, emotions, motivation, decision-making, and learning behaviors. Neuroeducation literature explains that the balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system activities contributes to cognitive, affective, and behavioral processes that support effective learning. Furthermore, the synthesis reveals that Islamic educational concepts such as intellect ‘aql, dhikr, tafakkur, muhasabah, and character development are closely related to neurological mechanisms described in contemporary neuroscience. This study concludes that the autonomic nervous system serves as a neurobiological foundation linking neuroscience, neuroeducation, and Islamic education within a holistic and integrative learning framework.Keyword: Autonomic Nervous System, Peripheral Nervous System, Neuroeducation, Learning, Islamic Education, Neuroscience.
