Abstract

Building a trusting relationship is the initiation process of the therapeutic communication between nurses and patients. In patients with schizophrenia, Building a trusting relationship is a challenge that is not easy and is often overlooked. If they have no strategies, internal and external factors of both nurses and patients may complicate them in building a therapeutic relationship. One of the techniques of interaction that can be practiced by nurses is Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship. This study uses a case report of one patient with schizophrenia who has auditory hallucination disorder. Interactions were conducted on April 04 - 11, 2023. The intervention used the Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship approach, and the assessment of the trust response used an adaptation of the General Trust Scale instrument. There was a positive response to the patient's trust in the nurse after the Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship experience for 3 days, this was evident from the increase in the average value of the patient's General Trust Scale score from 0.20 to 0.86 whereas the patient was said to have trust if (α =>0.83).  Intervention of Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship approach can build BHSP in patients with Schizophrenia and as recommendation it should be carried out together with Plan Analysis (PA) so that the therapeutic relationship is established for optimum psychiatric care. Keywords: Schizophrenia, BHSP, MOTR, GTS.

Abstract

Pain in hypertensive patients can worsen the patient's blood pressure. Sujok therapy is one of the suitable therapies used to reduce the pain scale. This activity aims to describe how the effect and application of Sujok therapy on pain scale and blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This activity included physical assessment, psychosomatic symptoms, disease history, pain scale and the provision of Sujok therapy to 19 hypertension elderly. This activity was carried out for two days on November 21, 2023 at Prolanis Puskesmas Jetis II Bantul, Yogyakarta and on November 26, 2023 at the Baiturrahman Mosque Popongan, Yogyakarta. Sujok therapy is carried out using methods such as massage with probes, fenugreek seeds attachment, and chakra magnet attachment to the hand which is the basic correspondence system and insect correspondence system. The test used to see pain comparison was paired sample t-test and to compare blood pressure was Wilcoxon test. The results of the assessment found various physical complaints, namely headaches, neck and shoulder pain, lower and upper extremity pain, and back and waist pain. After therapy, there was a significant decrease in pain scale (p=0.000) and systolic blood pressure (p=0.004) in hypertensive patients. This activity shows that Sujok therapy with the method of massaging the probe tool, fenugreek seeds, and magnetic attachment to the basic correspondence system and insect correspondence system can be an alternative therapy to reduce pain and blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Keywords: Hypertension, pain, sujok therapy.

Abstract

Health issues such as diarrhea or worm infections are related to personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. One contributing factor is handwashing habits. Handwashing is a crucial component of personal hygiene because the consequences of not washing hands can lead to health problems related to the digestive system (diarrhea, worm infections, hepatitis, typhoid, etc.). The objective of this health education is to assess its influence on the knowledge of personal hygiene and handwashing practices among elementary school children at SD Mekasari Sayang in Sumedang district. The implementation method of health education involves using video and poster presentations, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and simulations with 25 first-grade students of SDN Mekarsari conducted directly. Data analysis utilizes pre-post test design with Wilcoxon statistical testing to identify the significance of differences before and after the health education intervention. The results of the activity demonstrate differences in knowledge and handwashing practices before and after health education using film, posters, discussion, simulation, and demonstration methods (p-value < 0.05). The conclusion drawn from this health education is an improvement in students' knowledge and practices after the intervention. It is hoped that students' awareness and habits regarding personal hygiene behavior will increase, thereby preventing various health problems (diseases) that may arise. Keywords: Personal Hygiene, health education, handwashing, elementary school students.

Abstract

Insufficient protein intake in children during the growth period is one of the causes of the increasing prevalence of stunting children in Indonesia. Fish has been researched to contain high levels of protein which is good for children's growth and development. In general, fish is only processed simply so it is not liked by children, whereas it can be processed into various processed products, such as nuggets. This community service aimed to determine the effect of providing fish nugget processing training on the knowledge of training participants. An increase in knowledge was measured using a one group pretest posttest design, which was then carried out with a real difference test to see the difference in the average pretest and posttest scores using the non-parametric Wilcoxon test. This training activity was given to 16 housewives and parents of Early Childhood Education School students in Situ Udik Village, Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency with age characteristics ranging from 20-60 years and the latest education level was Elementary School-Senior High School. The results of this community service showed that providing training has a significant effect on increasing the knowledge of training participants in processing fish nuggets. The average pretest score of training participants (74.38%) showed a value that is significantly different from the average posttest score (95.63%) with significance value (Asymp. Sig.) 0.000. It is hoped that the results of this community service can be implemented by the community in producing fish-based nuggets for family consumption and sale to consumers. Keywords: Fish nuggets, food processing training, processed fish products, Situ Udik village, stunting.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition in the first 1000 days of life. The aim of implementing Nutri Edu Fun is to increase public awareness regarding the importance of a healthy and nutritious lifestyle, consuming halal food and thayyib to prevent stunting. Activities will be carried out on August - September 2023 in Cibening Village, Bekasi, West Java. The Nutri Edu Fun program consists of a village potential survey, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), collecting data on social mapping and household food security status, anthropometric measurements at posyandu, apart from that, additional activities are also carried out by PMT cooking competitions and demonstrations, follow-up FGDs at Cibening Village Office, and making the book "BERPANGKAL" (PMT Recipe Book with Local Food Ingredients). The results of measuring the food security status of 32 respondents in Cibening Village revealed that 13 respondents experienced food insecurity. After a Focus Group Discussion was conducted with stakeholders in Cibening Village, it was discovered that 6 toddlers were stunted. One of the reasons is that the provision of PMT (Additional Feeding) at Posyandu is still not optimal. The pre-test and post-test results showed that there was no significant increase in knowledge (p>0.05) after giving Nutri Edu Fun, this could be due to the fairly short duration of the intervention. However, it is hoped that the use of the Nutri Edu Fun module will become a source of information related to health and nutrition that is easy for the community to understand. Keywords: Food security, halal food and thayyib, stunting.

Abstract

Physiological changes that occur during pregnancy affect the entire woman's body, especially the digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, skin, hormonal, metabolic, musculoskeletal, breast, immune and reproductive systems, felt in the external and internal genital areas. Common symptoms during pregnancy include changes in urinary tract function (urinating). One feasible physiological therapy is pelvic floor muscle training. This can strengthen the muscles around the reproductive organs and increase muscle tone. The aim of the research was to analyze differences in urinary tract function (mixi) in pregnant women before and after pelvic floor muscle training. This research method was carried out using a two-group pretest, posttest design. The research sample was pregnant women. A total of 60 people responded and activities were carried out for 6 days on 8-13 November 2022. Before and after PFME was carried out, urinary frequency and urine output were measured using a tool. The results showed that there was no difference in urinary frequency between the control and intervention groups (p = 0.664), and there was no difference in urine volume during urination between the control and intervention groups (p = 0.270). In the PFME intervention, there was no difference in urinary frequency between the control group and the intervention group (P = 0.566). There was a difference in urine volume when urinating between the control group and the intervention group (p=0.004). Therefore, to improve urinary tract function in pregnant women and thereby improve their quality of life, PFME should be included in the schedule to provide planned and daily physical activity and exercise. Keywords: Pregnancy, PFME, urinary tract (Miction)

Abstract

Parents' lack of knowledge in managing febrile seizures at home can increase the risk of complications such as Neurotransmitter damage and Epilepsy Damage from long-lasting attacks. The purpose of this community service is to improve the ability of cadres and parents in first aid for febrile seizures at home in toddlers. The training involved 40 posyandu cadres and parents, who measured the knowledge of febrile seizure management before the exercise was carried out. After providing training using simulations, measurements were carried out. The data were analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and the p-value < 0.001 were obtained so that there were differences before and after the training so that the simulation method effectively improved cadres' ability and parents' first aid for febrile seizures. This training can increase the knowledge of cadres and parents in first aid for febrile seizures at home, which can reduce complications due to febrile seizures in a toddler. Keywords: Febrile seizures, pre-hospital management, toddler

Abstract

Several alternative and complementary health therapy techniques have known benefits in supporting the healing of various health problems. One of them is sea sand therapy. Indonesia has many beaches frequently visited by tourists, some of whom come for health therapy purposes. However, there are no studies or procedures that can be used to measure the preferences and needs of individuals to get sea sand therapy. The purpose of this study is to develop an instrument that can measure the tendency of individuals to do and benefit from sea sand therapy. Research on the development of procedures and the Sea Sand Therapy Requirement Questionnaire was conducted using quantitative methods with a descriptive design. The Sea Sand Therapy Requirement Questionnaire was tested using content testing by experts, face validity testing by respondents, and validity and reliability of construction testing by researcher. The questionnaire was tested on 60 respondents at Kejawanan Beach, Cirebon City selected based on inclusion criteria. The test results showed good validity for all questions compiled. This was indicated by the results of value r-count test which exceeds the predetermined r-table value of 0.254, and the results of the reliability measurement which shows a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.759. Thus, Sea Sand Therapy Requirement Questionnaire is valid and reliable as an instrument to measure the tendency of individuals to get sea sand therapy and can be used for related services and research. Keywords: Reliability, validity, measurement instruments, complementary and alternative medicine, sea sand
