Abstract

Abstract: In 2013, Indonesia has a new curriculum as a refinement of the previous curricula, Curriculum 2013 was prepared to prepare students who are not just smart cognitive, but also intelligent spiritual, emotional, and social, as well as be able to compete in any conditions. Reflection of the demands that the students emotionally and socially intelligent was evident in 2013 with the assessment curriculum on student attitude, confident attitude assessment is still difficult to come up with the students, from the observed data and the experience of teachers teaching in class VIII. 1. To enhance the confident attitude In the framework of learning materials and muscle in this study applied the method of guided inquiry as guided inquiry lead students to discover scientific concepts themselves so that they can formulate their own inventions with aplomb. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with research procedures as follows: planning the implementation of the action → action → reflection → observation → next cycle of action planning. Objectives to be achieved through this research are to: determine a confidence increase in grade VIII.1 SMPN1 Tanjung Batu on material of human skeletal and muscular with the application of guided inquiry learning model. The research instrument used in this study are: Observation sheet contains three indicators / aspects of confident attitude observed that: 1.berani presentation to the class, 2. Dare to argue, ask, or answer questions, 3. Opinion or do activities without hesitation -ragu. Data were analyzed quantitatively, to measure the percentage increase in the attitude of confidence for each indicator and the average percentage of confident attitude of the three indicators / aspects confidence in each cycle. The results of data analysis are then presented in the form of descriptive description. The indicator measures the success of the provision is if the average percentage of the value of three indicators / aspects of a confidence ≥ 75% (Good). Based on research data obtained from the third cycle of the average attitude score student responses from the three indicators / aspects are assessed confident attitude is 87.33%. Based on these results it is concluded that through guided inquiry learning model in the framework of material and human muscles can improve posture confidence VIII.1 grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Batu.   Keywords: Guided Inquiry Learning Model, Attitude Confidence

Abstract

Abstract:The aimed of this study is to analyze the effect of Pegagan leaf extract  to the estrous cycle of mice. The method was implemented is the experimental method of Randomized Complete Design ( RCD), which used twenty four  female mice. The study consisted three group of treatment with eight replications. Treatment for the provision of Pegagan leaf extract with doses of 0 mg / 10 g body weight (BW) , 2 mg / 10 g BW , and 8 mg / 10 g BW. Pegagan leaf extract given to the mice by gavage for 3 days. Parameters measured were cytological picture of vaginal smears and the duration of the estrous cycle in the female mice. Total average length of the estrous cycle in mice P0 , P1 and P2 were 4.5 days, 5.75 days, and 4.62 days. The results showed that the leaf extract of Pegagan with a dose of 2 mg / 10 g BW maximum increase the duration of estrus cycle time in mice. The increasing of the estrous cycle time because of the phase proestrus and estrus of the mice experienced an increasing of time. The results of the studywere expected to be an additional material as well as additional information on the Learning Sciences School (SMA) X class the second semester on Subject Matter Kingdom Plantae basic competency 3.3 of Describing Characteristics Divisio in the World of Plants and Role for Survival on earth. Keywords : estrous cycle, mice (Mus musculus L), ovulation , pegagan (Centella asiatica).

Abstract

Penulisan makalah ini bertujuan untuk menambah informasi tentang deskripsi morfologi serangga-serangga predator yang memangsa Aphis gossypii (Glover) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). 1) Kumbang coccinellid. Imago coccinellid berukuran antara 0,25-1,5 cm, bentuk seperti diskus, oval sampai bulat dan dorsal cembung. Pada permukaan dorsal tubuh berwarna cerah kuning, oranye, kemerahan dengan bercak-bercak hitam, sedangkan permukaan ventral rata. Telur kumbang coccinellid berwarna kuning-oranye diletakkan mengelompok. Larva kumbang coccinellid berbentuk panjang, pipih dan sebagai predator. Pupa kumbang coccinellid melekat pada jaringan tumbuhan. Contoh spesies kumbang coccinelid adalah C. sexmaculata (Fabricius), Coccinella repanda (Thunberg), Chilocorus melanophthalmus (Mulsant), C. ruber (Weise), C. arcuata (Fabricius) dan Curinus coeruleus (Mulsant). 2) Larva Cryptolaemus sp. Larva Cryptolaemus sp. mirip alligator, panjang mencapai 1,3 cm dan tubuh ditutupi oleh rambut-rambut putih berlilin. Pupa terbungkus kokon dalam batang.  Telur C. montrouzieri berwarna kuning. 3) Kumbang kalajengking (Philonthus sp.). Philonthus sp. atau kumbang kalajengking mempunyai elitra pendek atau setengah abdomen. Tubuh langsing, memanjang, aktif, lari atau terbang dengan cepat.  Pada saat berlari mengangkat abdomen seperti yang dilakukan kalajengking. Kumbang kalajengking mempunyai mandibula sangat panjang, langsing, tajam dan berwarna coklat atau hitam. 4) Lalat syrphid. Tubuh larva lalat syrphid mirip peluru gotri, hijau pucat sampai kuning, panjang 10-15 mm, ada titik coklat dan tidak ada kepala atau tungkai. Pupa lalat syrphid membentuk puparium mengeras dan diapause.  Imago lalat syrphid memiliki beragam ukuran, warna dan bentuk atau menyerupai lebah. 5) Mantis sp. Mantis sp. memiliki mata majemuk berkembang baik, kepala segitiga, sayap depan menebal disebut tegmina, sayap belakang berbentuk membrane. Tungkai depan untuk menangkap mangsa atau raptorial dengan femur dan tibia berduri serta protoraks memanjang. 6) Lalat Chamaemyiidae. Imago Chamaemyiid adalah lalat berukuran kecil berwarna keabu-abuan dan mempunyai bintik hitam pada abdomen.  Kata Kunci: Morfologi, Serangga Predator, Musuh Alami dan Aphis gossypii (Glover)

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian pengembangan multimedia interaktif pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia kelas XI SMA telah dilakukan untuk menghasilkan produk multimedia interaktif yang valid dan praktis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (Development Research/ DR) menurut Akker dengan melalui tiga tahap utama, yaitu analisis, perancangan, dan evaluasi. Evaluasi multimedia interaktif dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Palembang. Subjek penelitian evaluasi adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 6 SMA Negeri 1 Palembang semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2013/ 2014. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah teknik dokumentasi, wawancara, validasi pakar (walkthrough), dan angket. Data yang berhasil dikumpulkan adalah (1) hasil data dokumetasi dan wawancara diketahui bahwa sistem ekskresi manusia merupakan salah satu meteri pelajaran biologi yang sulit dipahami, sehingga multimedia interaktif yang dikembangkan bertujuan untuk menjelaskan materi pelajaran sistem ekskresi manusia, (2) hasil data validasi pakar (walkthrough) diketahui bahwa multimedia interaktif yang dikembangkan dinilai valid oleh validator baik dari segi isi maupun konstruk, (3) hasil data angket diketahui bahwa multimedia interaktif yang dikembangkan dinyatakan praktis oleh para peserta didik yang telah mengisi lembar angket. Berdasarkan hasil data penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa telah dihasilkan produk multimedia interaktif yang valid dan praktis dalam bentuk software setelah melalui tahap analisis, perancangan, dan evaluasi.   Kata kunci : Penelitian pengembangan, multimedia interaktif, valid, praktis

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Research about the development of Science Process Skills (SPS) has been carried out as SPS measuring instrument study materials in Biology subject at 11th grade of senior high school. The study is aimed to produce a valid and practical test instrument of SPS. The method used in this research is Development Research (DR) method which refers to the instrument development model from Djaali and Mulyono (2008). The steps of the research and development consist of several phases: synthesis theory and requirements analysis, design stage (variable construction, development of indicators, the preparation of the lattice matter, writing of instruments, scoring) and the evaluation phase. Evaluation phase is divided into three: validity test, reliability test and analysis of grain items. The analysis of grain items is done by analyzing the degrees of difficulty, different power and distracters function. The validation of Science Process Skills (SPS) is done in three stages, namely validation theoretical (content experts, constructs experts and linguists) and empirical validation (test participants' answers). Based on the theoretical validation of the results obtained an average value of 4.2 which indicates that the questions of SPS is valid. Practicality of SPS can be detected through the result analysis of the test participants questionnaires in the trial test. The average of the questionnaire practicality while testing is 3.64 which indicate that the question of SPS is a practical category. The results of the analysis from the expert validation test and learner questionnaire showed the SPS that produced is valid and practical. Abstract

The classroom  action research with the aim of proving whether by applying the learning model the pair shares in the competency standards of 6 understand of biodiversity with basic competency of 6.2 classifying living thing based on their characteristics and basic competency of 6.3  describe the biodiversity in organizational systems of life from celluler level to the organism can improve the learning outcomes of the students of class 7 B in SMP Negeri 2 Jejawi. This action research was carried out in three rounds (pre cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2). Each round consists of four stages: design, activity and observation, reflection and revision. The target of this study is students of Class 7 B in SMP Negeri 2 Jejawi. Data obtained in the form of formative test results, observation sheets of teaching and learning activities. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of sharing partner learning models can improve science learning outcomes for students of class 7 B in SMP Negeri 2 Jejawi with an average student score of 28.33 (pre cycle), 59.79 (cycle I) and 73, 54 (cycle II). Classically, the increase in KKM was 0.00% (pre-cycle), 12.50% (cycle I) and 50% (cycle II). Means that the application of sharing partner learning models can also improve learning achievement classically.Keywords: Natural Science Learning, TPS Type Cooperative Learning Model

Abstract

PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA VIDEO TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPA BIOLOGI SISWA KELAS VIII DI SMP NEGERI 9 PALEMBANG Meta Puspa Sari1, Siti Huzaifah2, dan Lucia Maria Santoso2 1. Dosen Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya Jln Raya Palembang-Inderalaya Km 32, Inderalaya Ogan Ilir Sumatera Selatan   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar IPA Biologi KD.1.1 dan KD. 1.2 di kelas VIII SMP N 9 Palembang menggunakan media video. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan Pre-Eksperimen Design dengan desain One group Pretest-Posttest. Subjek penelitian 28 siswa kelas VIII-6. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Random Sampling, dan hasil belajar siswa dilihat dari pretest dan posttest.  Diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretest, posttest, dan rata-rata gain  yaitu 43,93 ; 85,29 dan 41,36 serta nilai indeks gain sebesar 0,72 yang dikategorikan tinggi. Kategori  nilai pretest sebanyak 46,43% siswa kategori cukup, 21,43% kategori kurang dan 32,14% kategori gagal. Kategori hasil belajar nilai posttest 89,29%  kategori sangat baik dan 10,71% kategori baik. Ketuntasan klasikal yaitu 85,71%. sudah mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum di SMP Negeri 9 Palembang yaitu 81. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media video berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Kata kunci : media video, hasil belajar   Abstract The purposed of this research to obtain learning outcome ofBiology KD 1.1 and KD 1.2 at SMP N 9 Palembang was applied video as learning media. This research applied Pre-Eksperimen Design with One group Pretest-Posttest. Subject were 28 students of  VIII-6 class. Random Sampling was conducted, pretest and posttest was calculated to get learning outcome. Mean result of pretest 43.93, posttest 85.29, and gain 41.36, and gain index 0.72 as high category. Pretest category 46.43% as sufficient, 21.43% as poor, 32.14% fail. Postest category 89.29% very good and 10.71% good. Classical Completeness was 89.29% students were already achieved beyond KKM it was 81 at SMPN9. Using t-test concluded that applied video as learning media significantly affected towards students learning outcome.     Key words: video media, learning outcome

Abstract

In 2013, Indonesia has a new curriculum as a refinement of the curriculum, reflecting the demands of emotionally and socially intelligent learners to be evident in the 2013 curriculum with attitudinal attitudes on students, and the basis for the application of character education. The planting and assessment of discipline and independence attitudes done by teachers to learners has not been much, because constrained by the process and teaching techniques, teaching media and assessment instruments. Assessment of discipline attitude and independence of learners in the learning process is very important, for habituation and strengthening the character of learners. Reason for strengthening because Found learners who are not disciplined in carrying tools and materials, and not discipline in collecting tasks. Also found students who feel unappreciated, depressed due to teacher monopolized learning and not democratic, so that learners are not able to make their own decisions. To improve the discipline and strengthen the independence of learners, then used the media KPK2S. The purpose of this research activity to assess the improvement of discipline and independence of learners, the assessment is used with the observation or observation of teachers on the sheet of discipline and independence. Scoring of values based on the observation sheet, then analyzed with qualitative data analysis techniques, the results of research with the media KPK2S indicate the increase in the independent attitude and discipline of learners. Percentage of classical completeness disciplinary attitude of learners at first observation of 9.37%, on the second observation to be 100%. The increase in the percentage of classical completeness of the independent value of the learners at the first observation of 71.87% and the second observation to be 92.87%. So it shows that the percentage value of classical completeness for the attitude of discipline and the independence of learners has exceeded from the indicator of the success of classical clarity that has been set at 75%. Keywords:  KPK2S, Independence, and Discipline

Abstract

  Abstract: The use of food additive such as borax to preservative in food production process could be have a negative effects on health. The abuse of borax as food additive in the pempek and bakso can be dangerous for human health at Palembang city. The borax or boric acid have toxic effect on all body cells.  The purpose of the research is to assess the effect of borax on the sperm motility and integrity of sperm membrane. Including to assess, how many are the borax doses can cause decrease the sperm motility and integrity of sperm membrane of mice. The research was carried out at laboratory Department of Medical biology, Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University Palembang using a Completely Randomized Design with six replications. Three treatment doses of the borax were prepared, i.e. 2 mg/10 gr bw, 4 mg/10 gr bw and 6 mg/10 gr bw for P2, P3 and P4 treatment groups of mice, respectively. Each group was consisted of six reproductive male mice and controlwith aquabidest were given each day, for 35 days. The control (P1) group was administrated by similar volume of aquabidest only. The result showed that borax could decreased very significantly (P<0,01) quality of mice sperm, especially sperm motility and integrity of sperm membran compared to control (P1) group. As  a conclusion,  the administration of borax at  doses 2 mg/10 gr bw,  4 mg/10 gr bw and 6 mg/10 gr bw on male mice by gavage in 35 days can  very significantly decrease the quality of mice sperm especialy decrease of the sperm motility and increase integrity of the sperm membrane (P<0.01) compared to the control group. It is suggested to conduct further studies such as the borax can used as one choice for the man contraception. Key words: Borax, Sperm Motility, Integrity of Sperm Membran and Mus musculus.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims to inform the contribution from the research result of ecology study golden snail (Pomacea canalicula L.) in Belitang OKU Timur. Method used survey with descriptive pattern. This method described the data of survey result which obtained by researchers. Focus of observation is on biotic and abiotic components which affect the population of golden snail. This research result can contributed on learning activity process of senior high school student first grade concentric Mathematic and sciences, basic competence biology especially, 3.9 Analyzing data or information from various sources about ecosystem and all interaction occurred in it., 3.10 Analyzing data of environment changing and the impact to life., 4.9 Designing a chart of the interaction between the ecosystem components and food cycle held in an ecosystem and providing the results in various forms of media., 4.10 Solving environmental problems by designing wasted recycled products and preserving the environment. The contribution of ecology golden snail in OKU Timur research result is formed in lesson plan (RPP) for study material and student work sheet (LKPD). This research aimed to trigger biology teachers of high school in OKU Timur regency to find other example of the biology lesson based on local sample as well as sample of the contextual learning material taken from daily lives of high school student in OKU Timur.   Keys Word: Ecology, Pomacea canalicula L . and Lesson Plans ( RPP )
