Abstract

Religious institutions are pivotal in addressing social issues, acting as agents of spiritual guidance and societal transformation. This study examines a community service program at Victory Theological College, designed to prepare future religious leaders through an integrated approach to theological education and practical social engagement. The program encompassed three phases: interactive training on social justice and contemporary issues, hands-on field practice addressing real-world challenges, and reflective evaluations to assess impact and learning. Participants demonstrated significant improvement in understanding the dual role of religious institutions in providing social aid and advocating for justice. Field activities included initiatives to combat poverty, promote racial reconciliation, foster gender equality, advocate for environmental stewardship, and support human rights. Reflective discussions highlighted the program’s success in connecting theological principles with practical solutions, preparing leaders to navigate complex social realities. The study underscores the transformative potential of combining faith-based education with community engagement, offering a replicable model for fostering justice, compassion, and sustainable development through religious institutions.

Abstract

Waste management issues in schools are often caused by a lack of awareness and understanding among students regarding the importance of sorting and managing waste properly. The mentoring program for the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) at SDIT Salsabila Baiturahman aims to improve students’ awareness and understanding of waste management based on the 5R principles (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair) and implement the Sedekah Sampah program. The program was conducted through educational activities, including counseling and workshops, as well as the implementation of the Sedekah Sampah program. Results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of waste management, as evidenced by the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test (p-value = 0.000). The implementation also successfully supported school activities using funds generated from waste sales. This program contributes to character building in students, particularly in environmental awareness and collaboration, aligning with P5 goals.

Abstract

The internet is an essential part of daily life, including for children, but lack of parental supervision can lead to negative effects such as internet addiction. This article explores the role of family communication in monitoring children's internet use in the digital era, with a case study in RW 07 Harapan Mulya Village. A socialization program was conducted to raise parents' awareness of the importance of supervision. The method involved three stages: (1) Preparation, including creating materials and media to attract public attention; (2) Implementation, which involved educating the community through socialization; and (3) Evaluation and follow-up, where students collected feedback on the program’s effectiveness. The results showed that participants were enthusiastic and recognized the importance of family communication in minimizing the internet's negative impact. Surveys and interviews revealed that 30.4% of children initially spent three hours online daily, but after parental education, this decreased to 1–2 hours. Parents are encouraged to actively guide their children, set clear boundaries, and foster open communication to help them use technology wisely.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase understanding and assist MSME players in Pleret Panjatan Kulon Progo in obtaining halal certification for their products through counseling and mentoring. This research uses the community service method which was carried out in the Pleret Panjatan Kalurahan Office Hall on September 19, 2024. The activity consists of three stages: planning, counseling, and mentoring. Resource persons from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bantul Regency provided material on halal certification and the application process through the SiHalal portal. Assistance is carried out directly to assist MSME players in the process of applying for halal certificates and fulfilling administrative requirements. This activity succeeded in increasing the understanding of culinary MSME players regarding halal certification, as well as motivating them to register their products through the SiHalal portal. In addition, the assistance helps MSME players in fulfilling administrative requirements, such as making a Business Identification Number (NIB), so that they can obtain a halal certificate. The limitation of this research lies in the relatively short implementation time, so that it has not been able to reach all MSME players in Pleret Panjatan Kalurahan as a whole. In addition, limitations in the initial data collection made some potential MSME actors not yet involved in this activity. This activity contributes to increasing the understanding and awareness of MSME actors in coastal areas regarding the importance of halal certification. This activity also makes a practical contribution to the halal certification process through the Free Halal Certificate (Sehati).

Abstract

Partner refers to SMK Sasmita Jaya 2, a vocational high school located in Pamulang District, South Tangerang City. As stated in Article 3 of Law No. 20 of 2023 of the Republic of Indonesia, education should aim to develop students' potential so they become individuals who are faithful and devoted to God Almighty, possess noble character, good health, knowledge, competence, creativity, independence, and discipline, and uphold Pancasila values as responsible citizens. Based on observations and school data, bullying cases are still frequently found at SMK Sasmita Jaya 2. One common form of bullying is social exclusion, where a student is deliberately avoided or isolated by their peers. This practice makes the excluded student feel sad, pressured, uncomfortable, and even inferior. Bullying is a serious concern for all parties, including school management, teachers, and non-educational institutions, considering the severe negative psychological impact on students. The goal of this community service program (PKM) is to provide counseling to students to raise awareness about the dangers of bullying, its negative psychological effects, and preventive measures through Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn). This community service initiative is conducted through direct counseling sessions using several methods, including the lecture method, interactive discussion, and simulation techniques, tailored to the theme and audience. By teaching Pancasila values, such as just and civilized humanity and Indonesian unity, students are encouraged to understand the importance of respecting differences, upholding human dignity, and fostering cooperation in diversity. Through this approach, students can develop a mutual respect attitude and strengthen harmonious relationships in their daily lives. Consistent reinforcement of Pancasila and Civic Education is essential in building a school culture free from bullying, ensuring that every student feels valued and protected.

Abstract

Plasticpay is a digital-based social behavior change platform that invites people to exchange plastic bottle waste for points. This application is a digital platform based on digital social that creates applications and collection facilities and invites the community, public and private sectors to participate and collaborate in recycling activities to meet sustainable development goals. Through this plasticpay application service, people can participate in maintaining cleanliness, health and environmental sustainability so that the community participates in helping to facilitate business activities in Indonesia and can accelerate the circulation of money in the community which ultimately improves the community's economy. The community in the South Meruya area has so far utilized the use of the internet network. However, the community has not yet received sufficient understanding of the importance of protecting the environment independently, especially in managing plastic waste. Therefore, we are motivated to share knowledge through outreach programs to residents regarding the use of plastic waste and the introduction of the plasticpay digital application to increase the empowerment of residents in the Meruya - West Jakarta area as provisions in managing and utilizing plastic bottle waste, applying appropriate technology tools and machines to improve welfare, maintain cleanliness, health and environmental sustainability, and invite the community to participate and collaborate in recycling activities to meet sustainable development goals.
