Abstract

Indonesian education during the Covid-19 era entered a different situation. The real situation has long been predicted by technology experts that all areas of life will enter the realm of digital technology-based activities, including education. For this reason, education in Indonesia must be able to find new directions for education in formulating policies to be taken. One of the important things that must be prepared is at the education planning level. The problem that needs to be studied is how educational institutions formulate educational program planning during the Covid-19 pandemic while maintaining the quality of education. Educational planning carried out by educational institutions must reflect the existence of a vision, mission, goals and work plans, as raw materials or a reference for educational policies at the managerial level. This paper will discuss the education planning process in terms of its implications for quality-oriented education policy during a pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the application of Islamic principles to the performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2014 to 2016 period using the Islamicity Performance Index approach. The ratios in the Islamiciti Performance Index are Profit Sharing Ratio, Zakat Performance Ratio, Equitable Distribution Ratio, Directors-employee Wefare Ratio, Islamic Income vs Non-Islamic Income. The data used in this study are secondary data. The population of this research is all Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia from 2014 to 2016 with a sample of two banks, namely Bank Muamalat Indonesia and Bank Syariah Mandiri. Sampling was done using purposive sampling method. The results showed that the performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia using the Islamicity Performance Index approach for the period 2014 to 2016 has the predicate "Not Good". There are several unsatisfactory ratios, namely the Zakat Performance ratio, the Equitable Distribution ratio, and the Directors-Employee Ratio. From the results of performance calculations using the Islamicity Performance Index approach among the three banks, namely Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Bank Syariah Mandiri, and Bank BRI Syariah, it shows that the three banks both get the predicate "Good Enough".

Abstract

This study aims to determined whether there was an increase in student cognitive learning outcomes through the use of a Moodle-based Learning Management System in mathematics and physics learning.. This type of research uses a pre experimental design. The population in this study were students of Babussalam SMKS, while the sample was class XI students of the Babussalam North Aceh Islamic Boarding School. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion of research data, The percentage of the number of students who met the completeness criteria in the physics class was 67% while in the mathematics class it was 91%. The average N-gain of cognitive learning outcomes for mathematics class was 0.6, higher than the N-gain average for Physics subjects, 0.475. This is because physics learning is not sufficiently taught through the delivery of material through Moodle, but must involve students in learning with a scientific approach. In this study, Moodle has not optimally integrated learning activities with a scientific approach so that cognitive learning outcomes have not reached the expected targets in physics subjects and  learning is not sufficiently taught through the delivery of material through Moodle, but must involve students in learning with a scientific approach. Abstract

This research aims to utilize the Arabica coffee cascara waste as a resource for reducing sugar production, including the investigation on the temperature and time required of the acid hydrolysis. The samples were initially pretreated (drying and milling), followed by delignification with the organosolv technique using alcohol. Then, the hydrolysis was carried out using sulfuric acid (1%) at a particular temperature (95, 100, and 105 °C) and time (2, 4, and 6 h) variations. Yield percentage, density, and reducing concentration were analyzed in each trial to generate a response surface methodology model. Based on the results, the hydrolysis can be optimized at 96.46 °C for 2.59 h, yielding 16.7696% reducing sugar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of problem-based learning to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Basic Competencies for Maintaining Brake Systems at SMK Negeri 2 Kupang. This study used a 2x2 factorial research design with experimental methods with a quantitative approach, consisting of two classes: the experimental and control classes. The control class is taught using a direct learning model, and the experimental class is taught using a problem-based learning model. The research sample was 70 students, 36 students from TKR 2 class (experiment class), and 34 students from class XI TKR 3 (control class). The instrument used consisted of a questionnaire of analytical skills, a test of learning outcomes in the cognitive domain, affective domain, and psychomotor domain. This study's results indicate that (1) student learning outcomes using problem-based learning models are significantly higher than learning outcomes for students who use the direct learning model; (2)  the learning outcomes of students who have high analytical skills are significantly higher than the learning outcomes of students who have low analytical skills; and (3) there is an interaction between the use of problem-based learning models and direct learning models on learning outcomes in the basic competency subject of the brake system at SMKN 2 Kupang.
