Abstract

This study aims to describe the existence of the Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPKD) as a structural institution that greatly determines the success and failure of the Poverty Reduction Program (Pronangkis), especially those that arise in rural areas. For this reason, this research is directed at efforts to re-functionalize the TKPKD as a structural institution through a qualitative approach with a case study core. The results of the study show that several cases of very worrying poverty are experienced by rural communities in the South Konawe Regency Government area as a result of the dysfunctionalization of the TKPKD. Among them are the socio-economic portrait of stone-breaking women in Wawatu Village, Moramo District, the existence of homeless peasants in Mowila Village, Mowila District, marginalization of shifting cultivators in the wilderness of Wolasi District and the cries of fishermen on the coast with their various problems. Moving on from the narrative of rural community life, an institutional model is designed that can be used by local governments to activate TKPKD institutions to solve various problems of rural community life.

Abstract

Tentena Village in Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia features several caves with ancient burials. These burials have been confirmed as cultural heritage sites under the protection of the Indonesian government laws number 10 of 2010 about cultural heritages; however, there is minimal knowledge about the history and the religious significance of the burials that have been documented. Within the current literature, there has been no systematic research conducted on the historical and cultural aspects of the human remains in these caves. The lacks of information makes the generation of the community where the sites belong feel that there is no bond between them and the sites. This problem triggers indifferent attitude toward sites preservation. As a response to this gap within the literature, this study aims to observe and analyze the historical aspects specified in the death rituals focused on the Latea Caves’ burial site through identifying the skeletal remains. The method that was applied in this research is a mix-method approach. The quantitative method is used to collect the statistical data on the remains and artifacts based on the forensic anthropological examination techniques and DNA analysis while the qualitative method is used to obtain data from in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with the Pamona ethnic group. The decision to conduct interviews with this group is due to the skeletons likely belonging to the ancient Pamona tribe from Wawolembo Hill, which fought with the Napu tribe during a tribal war in approximately 1400 BC. Application of basic forensic anthropology identification techniques and DNA analysis found that the majority of the skeletal remains are composed of women. These results are significant in providing information about the burial practices and the indigenous culture of the Pamona ethnic group.

Abstract

As a result of the spread of COVID-19, WHO has encouraged countries to develop a Covid-19 vaccine even though in reality there have been public concerns about the public perception of the aspect of receiving the vaccine itself. Traditional markets are a category of places that are prone to become locations of transmission because of market conditions as public facilities where buying and selling of daily necessities occurs and many people are active in these locations. The purpose of this study was to determine the public's perception of the acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccine in the community group of traders at the Mandonga Wet Market, Kendari City. The type of research used is descriptive. Research results that: People are less enthusiastic/follow the free vaccine program because people are afraid of the impact after vaccination. Information related to the COVID-19 vaccine was obtained from social media and electronic media as well as from the police. Public trust does not fully believe that if you get the vaccine, you can guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19. Vaccine acceptance by the public is influenced by the role of the media which influences negative perceptions, especially on aspects of the post-vaccination effects that result in death. There is a public perception of the government's conspiracy to use the Covid-19 issue to benefit certain groups. Public knowledge is still lacking which results in the ability to make decisions to vaccinate Covid-19. The implication of this research is that all components, including the community, health workers, the government and NGOs, synergize and work together to tackle Covid-19 prevention through the vaccination program.
