Abstract

The purpose of this study is to synergize and integrate theoretical-conceptual with the development of a child-friendly city (CFC) related to the community, local elites and the government of Kendari city. It is also intended to explore the values that exist in childrens traditional games in the area of Kendari city with the empirical reality that occurs during the process of urban development. This research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection technique used in-depth interviews and field observations. The results show that childrens traditional games in Kendari city today tend to experience a shift towards modern games based on computer and television technology. This condition affects the behavior and character of children. Children easily give up, unable to cooperate, difficult to interact with the environment are some negative impact of the modern games. Support and cooperation from various parties are needed to overcome this problem. Development of CFC is a government priority program. The CFC provides guarantees for the fulfillment of the children rights. To realize a CFC, the government should prepare the childrens creative space, cooperate with the relevant parties, and form a task force for CFC. The results of the research can be used as a recommendation in the form of regulations and policies of Kendari city government toward the development of CFC through childrens traditional games approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana aktifitas perempuan yang bekerja di tambang batu serta konstribusi ekonomi yang diberikan kepada keluarganya. Untuk memahami perempuan yang bekerja sebagai penambang batu, digunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan dan wawancara. Metode ini digunakan untuk memahami kontribusi apa yang diberikan oleh perempuan pekerja di tambang batu terhadap keluarganya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi ekonomi perempuan penambang batu bagi keluarganya sangat berarti, karena pendapatan tidak lagi semata bergantung pada suami, namun berasal dari upah kerja mereka. Hasil dari upah kerja tersebut mereka menggunakannya untuk membeli benda-benda yang semula tidak dimiliki. Dengan demikian, perempuan memiliki otonomi bagi diri dan keluarganya.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan sebuah model kemitraan antara Pemerintah Daerah (Pemda) dan perusahaan agar lebih efektif memecahkan masalah kemiskinan di daerah kerja industri pertambangan. Metode yang digunakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan Teknik Pengum-pulan data dengan cara pengamatan, wawancara mendalam serta FGD (Fokus Group Discussion). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Prinsip Corporation Social Responsibility (CSR) yang digunakan oleh PT Antam Pomalaa adalah prinsip yang lebih mengarah kepada prinsip pemerhati kepentingan sosial. Konsep tanggung jawab sosial PT Antam diwujudkan dengan adanya komit-men internal untuk mencapai kepercayaan (trust) antara masyarakat dan perusahaan, membentuk citra perusahaan yang lebih baik, menciptakan investasi bagi kesinambungan bisnis, dan sarana perusahaan dalam berkontribusi terhadap kondisi sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan yang lebih baik bagi masyarakat sekitar. Model kemitraan yang dilakukan PT. Antam Pomalaa terhadap masya-rakat lokal sebagai upaya pengentasan kemiskinan di Sulawesi Tenggara adalah model kemitraan produktif, yakni menempatkan mitra sebagai subjek dan dalam paradigma kepentingan umum. Prinsip saling menguntungkan sangat kental pada pola ini. Kata kunci : model kemitraan, tanggung jawab sosial, perusahaan, kemiskinan

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the existence of transvestites in the midst of society and the reason they became transvestites in public Kendari. Data collected by direct observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The data analysis is intended to simplify the data obtained so that the younger read and understood. The results showed that, the existence of transvestites amongst the people of Kendari has been widely spreading in the community. Appointment of the existence of transvestites is marked with the number of transgender-transsexuals who cultivate a variety of professions such as transvestites who opened a beauty parlor, working as a singer, activist fighting for the rights of fellow transvestites and not a few of them are working as pimps and prostitutes. Feeling ostracized make-transvestite transsexual is more creative in maintaining life even negative work that was involved in the public eye. A variety of reasons that makes a man choose to be transsexual, among others, have the instinct of womanhood felt since childhood, environmental influences dominated by girls, early experience sex that resulted dependency, trauma such as broken relationship of love between men and women at the age of which resulted in the young man does not believe anymore to women as well as the increasingly harsh demands of life make them choose shortcuts to get the material. The causes of this is what makes a man choose to be transsexual. Keywords: existence, reason, transvestites

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the women in the village of red stone maker Guali, District kusambi. In this study, using the theory fenism by Naomi Wolf. As a method of study based on field research, the technique of data collection is done through observation (observation) and interview (interview). Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the activities of women workers in red stone industry in the Village Guali starts from making dough, prints, dries, to the stage of transporting bricks from place to place wards drying or burning. The women work as a maker of bricks has some fundamental reasons, among others: the limited employment opportunities, urgency of economic, agricultural land is no longer productive, and to help the family economy, especially for the cost of daily living and for children's education. Wage system in this venture is determined by the business owners. Wages were taken in three parts, namely the process of making dough and molding, drying and transporting process of kiln to kiln. Wage received depends on the number of red rock that managed by women workers mereah stone itself. Keywords: women, and the maker of bricks

Abstract

This study aims at describing the values of local wisdom in society and can be a way out to overcome the moral problems. This research is important because today there is a phenomenon of attitudes and behaviors that are less virtuous among pupils, youth, and young generation, while character education in schools has not gone well. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, by selecting informant by purposive sampling. The results showed that: first, Muna society in Kendari city has a model of character education based on local wisdom, katoba tradition of the society. Second, the katoba-based character education model aims at introducing religious values early on children in 7-12 years old, inculcating basic moral teachings in children by introducing things that contain goodness and badness in muna mimotehi be nimokodo (things banned and allowed), teaching children values to respect social life, and avoiding things that do not belong to them (hakunasi).

Abstract

This study aims to identify and to describe the activities carried out by the Ponorogo Paguyuban in an effort to preserve the art of Reog in the Abadi Jaya Village, Maginti District, West Muna District. This research uses structural functionalism theory. The method is the ethnographic method with collection data by using both observational techniques, in-depth interviews, and Purposive Sampling informant selection techniques. The results show that the activities carried out by the Ponorogo Paguyuban in an effort to preserve the Reog Ponorogo arts included training activities for Jathil dancers performed twice a week, monthly social gathering and hospitality activities. Whereas the function of the Ponorogo Circle of Friends is carried out in an effort to preserve the art of Reog in the form of internalizing Jathil dancers in the art of Reog ponorogo, embracing the younger generation in an effort to preserve the art of Reog and performing to introduce Reog ponorogo art to the general public. So that this study recommends for some parties, namely community members to collaborate with schools in Abadi Jaya Village to make Reog ponorogo art as one of the subjects of local content so that efforts to preserve Reog art can run optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the knowledge and methods of extracting clean water from trees in Munanese in Wuna Village, District of Tongkonu, Muna Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that since ancient times Munanese has had local knowledge about the process of extracting clean water from trees called "dee tinda", already carried out by the Munanese to overcome the shortage of clean water, especially in the dry season. The process of getting clean water from trees in Munanese, first injuring tree trunks and then tied using reeds. At the ends of the reeds are inserted into jerry cans. This method was carried out because this Wuna village is one of the villages that has a rocky topography, surrounded by mountains and has a barren red soil structure resembling sand. So, in this village water sources are very difficult to find. This knowledge has been passed on to children in the Wuna Village community for generations. Abstract

This research aims to find out the reasons of people selling boilded corn and to find out the strategies of people that selling boiled corn to preserve selling boiled corn in Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency. This research use theory of adaptation strategy by John William Bennet. The method of this study is to use the observation method and observation in a holistic-integrative manner, in-depth descriptive and qualitative analysis. The results of this study are known to the Boiled Corn Sellers (PJR) using several strategies in selling boiled corn in Amesiu Village, Pondidaha District, Konawe Regency. Conclusion 1). The reason people sell corn here is interpreted as an element or thing that can affect a situation or someone to do something. Availability of Human Resources as well as Natural Resources is sufficient, which is the reason for boiled corn sellers to continue to exist today. 2). The strategy of boiled corn sellers is an attempt to find out how everything related to a particular goal could be achieve, so that boiled corn sellers still exist in running their businesses and can attract the purchasing power of road users, while the strategies are as follows: (a) lifting pan cover, (b) merchant stall smile, how to dress, employ beautiful women, additional menus, (c) give discounts, (d) SKSA (pretentious to get closer), (e) give cellphone number. Abstract

This study aims to find out about the existence and strategy of coffee shops in Kendari City. This research uses the adaptation strategy theory by J.W Bennet. The method of this study is the ethnographic method. Collecting data is observation and in-depth interviews. Analysis data is analyzed descriptive qualitative. The results of the study show that doing a culinary business in Kendari City is a very promising business option. One of them is a coffee shop business that turned out to be able to generate substantial profits even though it only issued a capital that was not too large. The popularity of coffee shops today is also supported by the lifestyle of urban people who are very fond of spending their free time in a coffee shop for various reasons for visiting. Some strategies used by coffee shop entrepreneurs in maintaining the existence of their businesses such as (a) providing good facilities and services; (b) determination of the location of the coffee shop business; (c) determine affordable menu prices.
