Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the policy of school literacy movement in excellent primary school Aisyiyah Taman Harapan Curup. This research with the theory implementation Eward III namely: communication, resources, commitment, and bureaucracy structure and will describe the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementation the policy of school literacy movement. This research is a descriptive qualitative research which was carried out in a excellent primary school Aisyiyah Taman Harapan Curup in April-Juli 2018. The research subject were vice principal, head of library, and the fourth grade homeroom teacher. Technique collecting data is interview, observation, and documentation. The result of this research are as follows: (1) The policy implementation supported by: (a) implementing agencies communicate through meeting of school element such as management, parents, and teacher. (b) The resources that support this activity such as the potential of teacher funds from parent of the students as soon as goverment and sponsor. (c) commitment from implementing agencies. (d) Bureaucracy structure from part of school. (2) supporting factors in the form of the availability of means to socialize policies, book grant from parents, time and funds, teacher have a passion for learning, while the inhibiting factor teacher must be still reminded related to the policy Standard Operational Procedure and the program that still need to be done each other busy of ustadzah and ustadz which usually  make the literacy process in the library and making wall magazine whic sudden because of limited human resources too. Parent often ignore incoming message via whatsapp need for program development so that it is not monotonous and students become bored.Keyword: School Literacy Movement, SDUA THC.

Abstract

The focus of this qualitative research is the feasibility analysis of 2013 curriculum thematic books at elementary school level character education perspective. This research through literature study describes, identifies, analyzes qualitatively about character education that appears in thematic books and their feasibility for teaching materials for elementary school age children. Character education in the thematic book title Obligations and My Rights published by the Ministry of Education and Culture, appeared 69 times. In sub-theme 1 appears 9 times, sub-theme 2 appears 15 times, subtema 3 appears 24 times, and in sub-theme 4 appears 21 times. Emerging character education is divided into 5 categories. Character education related to God, is related to oneself, related to fellow human beings, related to nationality, and related to the environment. The feasibility of thematic books in terms of character education is very feasible because character values appear as 69 times. This is also relevant to the structure of the 2013 curriculum which emphasizes meaningful learning. In the case of conveying character values when viewed in terms of children's cognitive development there are about 9 discussions that are not appropriate at the stage of concrete operational development. Abstract

Kaba (story) is an old literature of Minangkabau that brings with it local culture and languages. Such local languages need to be revitalized to sustain Indonesian culture and language. This study aimed to reveal the philosophical values contained in the Kaba Rambun Pamenan, the old Minangkabau literature. This study was solely carried out resting upon empirical facts or phenomena existing in the Kaba Rambun Pamenan by Sutan Mangkudun and Ilyas Sutan Mangkudun (1988). The data sources were recordings from an art performance at Taman Budaya Padang in 2010, the book of Kaba Rambun Pamenan by Sutan Mangkudun and Ilyas Sutan Mangkudun, and the Book of Cultural Values in Kaba Rambun Pamenan by Abdul Rahman. The data analysis techniques used inductive and deductive approaches. First, the researcher listened to and opened the video recording of the kaba rambun pamenan performance; second, he made a synopsis of the story; and third, he searched for the content of philosophical values in the kaba, and it was then narrated in the form of quotations in sentences. After the data were collected, further analysis based on the existing theory was conducted. The findings of the present study covered: (1) being a leader must be a wise leader; (2) being a child must be responsible for the family; (3) being a man must be brave and honest, polite, not arrogant, and humble; and (4) if going abroad, one must be honest and helpful

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pencapaian keterampilan bahasa siswa yang belajar melalui strategi pembelajaran kooperatif dan mereka yang belajar melalui pembelajaran individu. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen yang melibatkan dua sampel kelompok, yaitu kelompok yang mengikuti strategi pembelajaran kooperatif. Berdasarkan temuan dan investigasi, dapat diambil kesimpulan sebagai berikut. Pertama, guru dapat memilih materi pembelajaran dan strategi yang harus digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis argumentasi siswa setelah tingkat pemikiran rasional siswa diketahui. Kedua, strategi pembelajaran kooperatif dan pembelajaran individu di antara kelompok siswa yang memiliki kemampuan berbeda dalam menggunakan pemikiran logis akan menghasilkan perbedaan keterampilan dalam menulis argumentasi. Ketiga, peningkatan keterampilan menulis argumentasi dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor strategi pembelajaran dan keterampilan pemikiran logis. Keempat, strategi pembelajaran dan keterampilan pemikiran logis memiliki hubungan yang kuat dengan keterampilan menulis argumentasi.

Abstract

The present study explained how the school management was in managingthe activities of Indonesia language teachers in elementary school. This wasa descriptive qualitative study. The subjects engaged were the principal, teachers, and elementary school committees. The data were garnered from interviews, observations and documentation. Subsequently, the data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. The results of the current study showed that the school management in managing Indonesian elementary school teachers’ activities includes: a) The elementary school management in terms program planning has been carried out resting upon the objectives and the elementary school plans, but the involvement of the community (parents) in formulating elementary school programs is still lacking. b) The elementary school management in the fields of students, educators, education staff and curriculum has been implemented but not yet been in an appropriate way. c) The elementary school management in the field of leadership has analyzed the potential of the school, creating conducive elementary school. d) Elementary school management in the fields of supervision and evaluation, curriculum development, the empowerment of education and teachers, and supervision programs have not been adequate as expected.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe mixed code and code transfer communicating in the daily activities of the Lembak people in the Tahura area and the use of the Tahura area.The scope of this research is non formal activities. Partiipants in this study are, Adolescents, adult and parents, with education ranging from those who are not in school, high school and university. Respondents in this study had different jobs ranging from students, housewife, food sellers, and famers. This research refers to the theory put forward by (Chaer and Agustina 1995:4), Appeal (in Suwito, 1983:5), Nababan ( in Chaer and Agustina, 2004:3) about sociolinguistics. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. After conducting research, the authors found data including, the are four languages used by the Lembak people in Tahura Communicate, namely the Lembak language, Bengkulu Malay Language, Rejang language, an javanese. The use of these four languages is in accordance with the context and participants As a result of languages other than Lembak, code and code switching emerged when poeple communicated in their daily activities.Keywords: Mixed Code, Transfer Code

Abstract

The value of multicultural education is very important to be taught to students not least at the elementary level unit education. This research will discuss the values of multicultural education in the texts in thematic textbooks at the elementary school level. This type of research uses library techniques with the object under study in the form of a textbook for elementary school students, and the class chosen in the textbook is class III-VI. In analyzing texts, researchers used qualitative research techniques and to obtain data researchers used reading and note-taking techniques. Besides the sampling technique or sampling is also taken by researchers so that the application is more directed at the data source in accordance with the problem. Content analysis techniques are also used to facilitate researchers in systematically organizing data collection. In the first data collection technique the researcher gave a signal to the data that wanted to be analyzed. Then the researcher categorizes the data according to the study, then an analysis is carried out by interpreting the categorized data. The results obtained in this analysis are Class III Integrated Thematic Textbooks VI has included multicultural education values such as educational values: tolerance, national spirit, love of the motherland or culture have been reflected in the texts presented in teaching materials. The quality of the content of multicultural education integrated in textbooks is adequate, although not all multicultural dimensions are well covered

Abstract

The cultural literacy program is one of the six basic literacies proclaimed by the World Economic Forum in 2015. Foundational literacies are literacy, numeracy, scientific literacy, ICT literacy, financial literacy, and cultural and civic literacy. Cultural literacy is someone’s ability in understanding his culture and how to behave towards his culture as his nation’s identity. In other words, cultural literacy is the knowledge, perspectives, and contributions of a set of cultures that will be used by the learners in the process of reading and writing. This paper highlights the advantages of cultural literacy for university students. In addition, this paper also elaborates the teaching scenario of cultural literacy in Indonesian language course. Abstract

The speech basically aims to invite, call, awaken, direct, and guide audiences to act in accordance with the guidance of Islamic teachings so that directive speech acts are often used by Islamic preachers, including those in Ustadz Abdul Somad's lectures. This study aimed to describe: 1) The types of directive speech acts in Ustadz Abdul Somad's speech, the question and answer edition of musawarah studies with hijrah artists; 2) the function of the directive speech acts used in Ustadz Abdul Somad's speech, the question and answer edition of musawarah studies with hijrah artists. This study applied a qualitative descriptive study. The objects of this study were the utterances of Ustadz Abdul Somad's speech, the question and answer edition of musawarah  studies with hijrah artists on YouTube. The data were collected using observation and note-taking techniques. The current study found that there were direct speech acts, indirect speech acts, literal speech acts, and non-literal speech acts. Based on the pragmatic function of directive speech acts, directive functions included the functions of asking, questioning, ordering, prohibiting, and advising. Abstract

Analyzed from Dells Hymmes's ethnographic communication theory. This research uses descriptive qualitative methodology. Consists of eight speech acts: a. arrangement b. participant c. ends d. act e. key f. instrument g. norm h. Genre. Basically, all research data are taken from the program "Not Four Eyes" in Jakarta Trans 7. The data comes from Tukul Arwana's speech acts. Data analysis was performed in series as follows: Codification, data editor, data presentation and inference. The results showed that the variation of Tukul Arwana language has special characteristics (Indiocretic), which means it has directive, expressive, contextual, contact, Meta linguistic, and poetic functions. The use of slanted material for students is the ability of class XI students to respond to television programs.
