Abstract

Nabi Ibrahim adalah sosok orang tua yang berhasil mendidik anaknya Ismail.Dalam al-Quran ditemukan beberapa komponen pendidikan Islam yang diterapkan oleh nabi Ibrahim terhadap anaknya, Ismail.Pertama, tujuan pendidikan nabi Ibrahim a.s adalah menjadikan anak bertauhid dan mewujudkan anak.yang shaleh. Kedua,  sifat nabi Ibrahim sebagai seorang pendidik, yaitu shiddiq, waffa,halim, munib, muhsin, ummah, qanitanlillah, hanif dan Khalil. Ketiga, sifat nabi Ismail sebagai peserta didik, yaitu halim, sabar, taat dan penyayang.Keempat, materi pendidikan nabi Ibrahim a.s adalah dalam bidang aqidah, ibadah dan akhlak.Kelima, metode yang digunakan adalah keteladanan, metode praktek langsung, metode kasih sayang, metode dialog, dan metode doa. Keenam, periodesasi pendidikan bisa dibagi ke dalam dua bagian, yaitu pendidikan pra-natal (qabla wiladah) dan pasca-natal (ba’da wiladah).Pada masa Pranatal Nabi Ibrahim as mengutamakan istri yang shalehah dan berdoa kepada Allah agar dikaruniakan anak yang shaleh.Pada masa pasca-natal Nabi Ibrahim a.s dalam mendidik anak-anaknya senantiasa memanjatkan doa yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anaknya

Abstract

Teachers have to do several actions in the class such us encouragement, reinforcement, reward, and punishment. In this case researchers focuses on reinforcement. One of the class managements’ indicator is teacher gives reinforcement and feedback to students’ responses and students’ achievement as long as Learning Process. The study aims to identify teachers’ reinforcement in English Learning Process at Senior High School 1 Padang. A quantitative research was used where the data taken from questionnaire. It was focused on positive and negative reinforcement that used in English Learning Process and any significant correlation of teacher’ reinforcement and students’ achievement. The data was analyzed by using Pearson correlation. Based on the statement above, it can be concluded that all of the positive and negative reinforcement used by English teacher at Senior High School 1 Padang and the mostly used is positive reinforcement. The finding is there is significance correlation of teachers’ reinforcement and students’ achievement in English Learning Process.  All of the teachers are expected that using reinforcement in English Learning Process due to increased the students’ achievement

Abstract

Learning foreign languages, especially Arabic and English at the Imam Bonjol State Islamic University in Padang has been going on for a long time but the results have not been as expected and are seen as not satisfying stakeholders. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research on the programs that are run based on the need analysis   for training foreign languages. Need analysis is the process of finding gaps between what people know, do, or feel and what they have to know, do, or feel in order to be able to do competently. Therefore, needs analysis is planned and carried out to obtain a number of data or information about conditions and needs. Needs analysis helps organizations and individuals to find solutions. Needs analysis is needed before implementing the program to see gaps or differences between ideal and optimal conditions. The results of the needs analysis inspire the design of the type of program, the objectives and indicators of success, the structure of the program, the material, the evaluation and monitoring system, and the criteria for the participants and relevant resource persons. Through this research, Present Situation Analysis, Target Situation Analysis and Expected Improvements were carried out. From the analysis carried out it can be concluded that the foreign language training that has been conducted has not yet fulfilled expectations and has not been maximized, therefore comprehensive improvements need to be carried out from various sides.

Abstract

Karakter kinerja adalah semua aspek identitas diri individu termasuk cara berpikir, sikap dan keterampilan yang terinternalisasi dan menjadi kebiasaan individu dalam menjalankan pekerjaan. Karakter kinerja menjadi modal dasar dalam mencapai kesuksesan karier. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dan menggunakan instrumen karakter kinerja mahasiswa yang mengukur tiga aspek yaitu aspek pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas karakter kinerja mahasiswa berada dalam kategori berkualitas dengan rata-rata 61,17%. Aspek pengetahuan berada pada angka 61,4% dengan kriteria berkualitas, aspek sikap 74,4 % dengan kriteria berkualitas dan aspek keterampilan 47,72% dengan cukup berkualitas.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon related to PAI lecturer performance that is not optimal yet. The government has issued policies to improve the quality of lecturers as an effort to improve the quality of education through the improvement of welfare. However, conditions in the field show that some lecturers who have received the professional allowance have not shown any significant performance improvement. Some lecturers who have very good competence sometimes not followed by high performance, this is reflected from the results of the lecturer's performance.The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the level of competence and performance of lecturers of PAI in Padang city (2) to analyze efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers in Padang city (3) to find the level of competence influence on PAI lecturer performance in Padang city.This research is a quantitative type with survey method and correlational approach. The population is PAI lecturers at state universities in the city of Padang totaling 30 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. Data collection techniques used were the dissemination of questionnaires, documentation and literature study. While the data analysis technique used is the normality test Kolmogorof Smirnov method. Test validity using Product Moment Pearson correlation formula. Test reliability using Alpha Cronbach and processing analysis using SPSS version 15.The research findings are: (1) the actual condition of PAI lecturer competence in public universities in Padang city is generally quite good (TCR = 3,93 / 5,00 or = 76,98%) whereas actual condition of teaching performance of lecturer PAI lecturers at state universities in Padang city were in good condition (TCR = 3.81 / 5.00 or = 69.64 %). (2) The efforts to improve the performance of PAI lecturers according to the authors include: Planning the development of lecturer's performance, organizing lecturer performance assessment, conducting lecturer performance assessment with sustainability, supervising the performance of lecturers as well as following up the results of lecturer performance assessment. (3) there is a significant positive correlation between lecturer competence and lecturer performance of 22,3 %, meaning competence contribute to lecturer performance.Suggested to the lecturers of PAI to improve the competence to produce performance as expected. The various parties who have responsibility to improve the performance of lecturers are expected to give attention to the increased competence of PAI lecturers in order to give a significant influence in order to improve the quality of national education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of traditional religious elites (Mubaligh) in Nagari Tandikek, Patamuan sub-district, Padang Pariaman district, which experienced an earthquake outside of September 30, 2009. Qualitative research type is used to collect the data. Observation and interview techniques are used to collect the data. The result shows that the traditional religious leaders are very influential in the Tandikek community. They have transformative and communicative approaches which are very easily understood by the communities. In addition, religious elites are also able to become a reference figure in acting and behaving. It is concluded that religious elites has important role in stimulating communities.

Abstract

This paper aimed at finding out and describe deeply the students’ writing skill and their mastery on descriptive and recount texts. This was a descriptive research type. There were 22 students at class VIII of Junior High School 2 Sintoga as respondents of the research.  Writing tests on descriptive and recount texts were used to collect the data. The data were classified into excellent, good, fair, poor, and very poor by using Jacob’ theory and calculated the data on percentage by using formula Sudijono. It was found that  the students got fair skill for both mean score of students based on component writing descriptive and recount texts (57.18 and 58.1).  For the each component of genres, they got lower score on content, organization of text, vocabulary, and language use. On descriptive text, there were 16 students’ mastery on generic structure for beginning stage and 8 students for developing stage. Meanwhile, for generic structure of recount text 10 students were mastery on generic structure for beginning stage, 11 students for developing stage, and 1 student for consolidating stage. Most of students made the mistakes in orientation and events. Some students who did not give the information of the place (where), time (where), and the reason (why) clearly in the orientation. In the events, some students wrote their experience unchronologicaly. It is concluded that the students’ mastery on writing descriptive and recount texts are fair category. It implies that the students should improve their writing skill through building writing habit and English teacher should be able to find out effective techniques and strategies in teaching writing skills.

Abstract

Pendidikan Surau adalah lembaga pendidikan yang lahir dari rahim kultural masyarakat Minangkabau. Sejauh yang dapat ditelusuri, sebagai bentuk awalnya adalah surau yang dirintis oleh Syekh Burhanuddin Ulakan pada akhir abad 17 di Ulakan Pariaman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan metode kualitatif karena terdapatnya kepentingan terhadap penafsiran dan mencari makna dari teks-teks tertulis. Di kalangan tokoh-tokoh kaum tua pembaruan pendidikan dilakukan dengan mendirikan madrasah sebagai pengganti surau dan mendirikan organisasi seperti Ittihad Ulama Sumatera di Bukittinggi tahun 1921 yang dipimpin oleh Syaikh Sa’ad Mungka, Persatuan Madrasah-madrasah Tarbiyah di Bukittinggi tahun 1928 yang kemudian dirobah menjadi Persatuan Tarbiyah Islamiyah di Bukittinggi pada tahun 1931 yang ketuanya adalah Sultha’in atau sulthani Dt Rajo Dubalang. Sedangkan di kalangan kaum muda yang memiliki karakteristik sebagai gerakan pemurnian agama, pembaharuan dalam pemikiran dan pemahaman ajaran-ajaran agama dan modernisasi dalam pendidikan, sosial, dan politik, mendirikian sekolah-sekolah di antaranya Madras School oleh Syaikh Muhammad Thaib Umar (1874-1920), Madrasah Thawalib Padang Panjang tahun 1921 oleh Syaikh Abdul Karim Amrullah (1879-1949), Adabiyah School tahun 1909 Di Padang Panjang, dan mendirikan PGAI tahun 1919 di Padang oleh Syaikh Abdullah Ahmad (1878-1933) dan lain-lain.
