Abstract

Research to explain the characteristics of vegetable consumers at Bu Dipo’s store, analyze the decision-making process of buying vegetables, and explore the behaviour of vegetable consumers at Bu Dipo’s store. Data analysis used descriptive analysis, Fishbein multi-attribute, and Rank Spearman correlation. The attributes studied include; price, taste, nutritional content, colour, aroma, freshness, packaging, neatness, durability, shape and size, brand, product quality, and expiration information. Vegetables have the advantage of freshness attributes, nutritional content, and expiration information from other features after consuming them. The characteristics of consumers who buy vegetables at BU Dipo’s store are primarily women aged 31-40 years old, working as private employees with an income of IDR3.000.000 - IDR4.000.000 per month, and having two family members to support. In making vegetable purchasing decisions, the freshness factor is an attribute that influences consumers in buying vegetables at Bu Dipo’s store. Characteristics of consumers, namely age, income level, education level, and the number of family members covered, have no significant relationship with consumer behaviour towards purchasing vegetables at Bu Dipo’s store. Researchers can give suggestions to improve the quality of vegetable freshness and open branches to reach more consumers.

Abstract

Green bean plants (Vigna radiata L.) are one of the bean plant commodities commonly consumed by Indonesians. The domestic demand for green bean plants is increasing every year. This increasing demand is shown by the fact that there is an increase in the need to satisfy the direct consumption and to meet the need for the supply of industrial raw materials, such as the baby food industry, canned drinks, and processed food. Peatland is a fragile area with a low level of productivity. The low productivity level of peatland is due to the low availability of the macro and micronutrients for plants, the high level of acidity, and the low base saturation. This research aims to identify the exact dose of chicken manure fertilizer to increase the growth and production of green bean plants. The method used to conduct this research was Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with five levels of treatment as a first step to identifying site-specific varieties. Each treatment was repeated on two plant samples: the control, five metric tons/ha, ten metric tons/ha, and 20 metric tons/ha. The application of the chicken manure fertilizer showed positive effects on the improvement of the soil structure, the soil biota, and the availability of the macro and micronutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The application of the chicken manure fertilizer in this research showed the effect on the growth and production of the green bean plants. The application of the chicken manure fertilizer with the amount of 20 metric tons showed the highest results in terms of the height of the plant, the number of leaves, the number of pea pods, and the weight of the pods if compared to the other treatments with different amount of the chicken manure fertilizer.

Abstract

Evaluation of the level of land suitability for rice crops is used in planning agricultural land use so that inhibiting factors and solutions can be found in processing land to be planted. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of land for rice crop plants by implementing a geographic information system that facilitates and accelerates the data processing process so that research output can be used for consideration in land use in Tanjung Selor Subdistrict of Bulungan District. The variable used in this study was temperature, water availability (rainfall), oxygen availability (soil drainage conditions), root media (soil texture), erosion hazard (slope), flood hazard (inundation), and land use. Rainfall data are obtained from the analysis of climate factor data from 2011 to 2020, soil texture data is obtained from field observations and soil maps, slope data were obtained from the Digital Elevation Model in 2014, and land use data is obtained from land-use map interpretation in 2019. Of the seven parameters, four parameters are obtained from the map, namely rainfall map, soil map, slope map, and land use map. Soil sampling and observations in the field in 2021 are carried out to obtain data on temperature, flood hazards, and soil drainage conditions. Based on the results of the analysis of land suitability of rice in Tanjung Selor Subdistrict, 13,65% is suitable marginal, and 86,35% is not suitable for planting rice. Tanjung Selor Subdistrict is dominated by areas that cannot be planted on and can be planted, but the results are less than optimal.
