Abstract

One indicator of the sustainability of a development program is determined by the level of adoption in a community. This study aims to assess the level of adoption of female farmers in the KRPL. The study 20 women farmers selected through the census. The study was conducted in March-December 2019 and was designed as a quantitative study using the percentage and linear regression methods. Dialysis data is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the level of adoption of female farmers in the KRPL Program which included land management activities, nurseries, planting, maintenance, building studio houses, and harvesting and post-harvesting, was in the medium category which means the program provides benefits to the community and allows the sustainability of the program to support food diversification. For maximum results in optimizing the program’s benefits, discipline by the government (extension) is needed to assist Women Farmers in implementing the program. Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the price efficiency of pepper farming and analyze how much pepper farming income. By using the quantitative descriptive research method, the sample selection is done by random sampling (simple random sampling) and determined using the Slovin formula, with a total sample of 44 pepper farmers. The analytical method used to describe the relationship between input and output in the production process is the Cobb-Douglas function, Efficiency Test, and farm analysis. The results showed that: Variables in pepper farming that had a significant effect were land area, fertilizer, labor, and farming time variables, while variables that were not significant in pepper farming were seeds and pesticides. This is caused because the use of seeds and pesticides is less than the standard of use. The results of this calculation indicate that pepper farming is not yet price-efficient, because the price efficiency value is greater than 1, so it is necessary to add certain production inputs to be more efficient. Pepper farming is still profitable, this is shown by the R / C ratio of 5.32, it is said that pepper farming is profitable to be developed, to improve efficiency, farmers should be able to use inputs proportionally.

Abstract

Corn marketing is the activity of distributing corn production from farmers to consumers. Corn production produced by farmers is not of economic value if the production of corn does not reach the hands of consumers. Corn marketing creates a price difference between what farmers receive and the price that consumers receive. This is due to the involvement of middlemen/traders of corn production from the hands of farmers in the hands of consumers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the marketing channels and absorptive capacity of Bisi-2 corn marketing institutions in Muna District. This research was conducted from January 2019 until May 2019 in Kabangka sub-district. The research location is one of the corn production centers of Bisi-2 varieties in Muna District. Sources of data in this study are primary data obtained directly from informants. The selection of informants used snowball sampling technique with the number of informants being 10 village collector traders, 1 sub-district trader collector, 5 animal feed traders, and 3 breeders. Data is collected by cross-section. Analysis of the data used in this study is qualitative descriptive analysis. Research results show the marketing channel for corn in Muna District, there are five patterns, namely; (1) marketing channels (farmers - village collector traders –sub-district collector traders - corn collecting companies); (2) marketing channels (farmers - village collector traders –sub-district collector traders - animal feed traders - breeders); (3) marketing channel (farmer - village collector trader - rancher) and (4) marketing channel (farmer - rancher). The marketing channel (farmer - village collector trader –sub-district collector trader - corn collecting company) is a channel that absorbs corn production the largest in Kabangka District, Muna District.

The determination of informants was carried out using the census method, totaling 8 people, and had carried out farming activities, consisting of Bajo ethnic fishermen, village heads, village secretaries, and community leaders. Collecting data using observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Retrieval of data through interviews with informants based on a list of questions and related parties in farming activities. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the factors driving the adaptation form of the Bajo tribe to farming activities were internal factors, namely the lack of income of fishermen, lack of fishing gear, lack of knowledge of fishermen, age of fishermen, and limited capital. Meanwhile, external factors are uncertain climatic conditions and the impact of mining activities.

Abstract

This study analyzes the sustainability status institutional dimension of mangrove ecosystems in the Bungkutoko mangroves tracking ecotourism area. The study was conducted in September 2019 – March 2020 in the mangrove tracking area of Bungkutoko Island, Nambo District, Kendari City. The method used in this study is a survey method with a purposive sample. The sample in this study amounted to 12 people, consisting of 5 people from the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Kendari City and seven people who manage the Bungkutoko mangrove tracking. Primary data collection is done through direct observation in the field and structured interviews with the help of questions. Secondary data collection was obtained through literature studies. Analysis of the data used includes quantitative research with the Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (RAPFISH) method that has been modified to Rap_Mforest and qualitative analysis (descriptive). The result showed the status of sustainability management of mangrove ecosystems. The institutional dimension is in the quite sustainable category (53.67). The attribute leverage analysis on the institutional extent shows that the most sensitive attribute to affect sustainability in the institutional dimension is the role of formal institutions that support mangrove ecosystem management. Even a slight change in this attribute will affect the institutional sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem. The legal institution, in this case, is the Kendari City Government through the Kendari City Marine and Fisheries Service
