Abstract

Response of Livestock performance was determined by genetic and environmental factors. FH of dairy cow can produce milk higher than other dairy cows according to its genetic ability. This is supported by environmental factors such as the fulfillment of nutrients needs of feed and microclimate in the area of livestock. This study evaluated the effect of microclimate environmental factors on milk dairy cattle productivity in PESAT using multiple regressions. Microclimate data (air temperature, RH, rainfall, wind speed, and solar radiation) were taken from the observation of PT Kaltim Prima Coal weather station located at M1 near PESAT in 2016-2017. The PESAT milk production data was taken from 2016-2017. Microclimate affects 63.3% (P<0.05) of dairy milk production refers to equation of Milk production = -226.079 -25.317 x Temperature + 8.699 x RH + 34.732 x Rainfall -37.575 x Wind Speed + 2.327 x Solar Radiation. Microclimates have a strong positive relation to milk production of 0.796. Decreasing in temperature and wind speed, Increasing of RH, rain, and solar radiation will increase the milk production. Microclimate manipulation can be done, but it will require high cost investment.

Abstract

Kabupaten Sinjai merupakan salah satu Kabupaten yang pengembangan sapi potong dengan menerapkan aplikasi teknologi IB. Tingkat kelahiran sapi potong hasil IB di Kabupaten Sinjai semakin meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Namun hal tersebut masih dibayangi oleh permasalahan kematian induk maupun anak sapi karena kesulitan saat proses beranak hasil inseminasi buatan. Salah satu indikator keberhasilan suatu program IB ternak adalah jumlah ternak yang berhasil dilahirkan dari sejumlah induk yang di-IB. Hal tersebut melatarbelakangi dilakukannya penelitian mengenai tingkat keberhasilan inseminasi buatan pada sapi potong ditinjau dari jumlah kelahiran pedet di Kabupaten Sinjai Sulawesi Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, tingkat keberhasilan kelahiran pedet hasil IB tertinggi di Sinjai Barat yakni 62,38% sementara terendah di Sinjai Timur sebesar 31,31% Kendala dalam pelaksanaan IB di Sinjai yaitu peternak tidak mampu menyediakan pakan yang memadai sehingga daya reproduksi sapi hasil IB menurun. Ditemukan juga kesulitan melahirkan (distokia) dikarenakan ukuran pedet sapi yang besar sehingga butuh penanganan pada saat melahirkan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat keberhasilan IB ditinjau dari kelahiran pedet di Kabupaten Sinjai sudah cukup baik kecuali untuk beberapa Kecamatan. Hal tersebut disebabkan berbagai faktor di antaranya kualitas pakan selama kebuntingan dan distokia. Dapat disarankan penelitian lebih lanjut terkait service per conception, conception rate, dan calving rate guna memperoleh gambaran lebih lengkap mengenai keberhasilan inseminasi buatan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengaturan suhu dan kelembaban terhadap performa broiler di kandang closed house pada pemeliharaan usia 15-30 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan 120 ekor broiler strain Cobb 500 berusia 15 hari, yang dipelihara selama 15 hari yang disusun berdasarkan rancangan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 taraf perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 10 ekor broiler dengan perlakuan suhu dan kelembaban masing-masing 27 0C dan 88 %, 28 0C dan 87 % dan 29 0C dan 86 %. Parameter yang diamati yaitu performa broiler yang terdiri dari konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, feed convertion ratio (FCR), dan mortalitas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaturan suhu dan kelembaban memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadap konsumsi pakan, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05) terhadap pertambahan bobot dan Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR), mortalitas broiler selama penelitian sebesar 0.83%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the success of artificial insemination in the Semangga district with the Conception/rate indicator. The method used for determining the sample using pourpose sampling as many as 45 respondents spread over 4 villages in the Semango district. Primary and secondary data are collected for further analysis. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and averaged using a standard deviation. The results showed that the R/C was 71.83 which means that the success rate of bolt insemination in Semango district is quite high.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how adding glutinous tapai water affects physical quality in the silage process of Elephant Grass (Pennisetum purpureum). The method used in this study was a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 3 repeats. The treatment used includes P0: tapai water 0%, P1: tapai water 3%, P2: tapai water 6%, P3: tapai water 9%. The study was conducted through several stages, including preparation of glutinous rice tapai water, preparation of elephant grass, making silage, observation of silage results carried out by respondents using questionnaires, and analysis. The parameters of physical qualities observed include colour, aroma, texture and presence of mushroom. The results obtained are P3 treatment (the use of 9% tapai water) has a real effect on the colour, aroma, texture and presence of mushrooms. Respondents prefer silage with better P3 treatment than other treatments. The P3 treatment showed the absence of mushrooms, while in other treatments (P0, P1 and P2) silage fermented for 21 days showed the presence of mushrooms.

Abstract

Analysis of body sizes in ruminant livestock is very important for selecting superior animals, and if used properly in goat farming, the result can increase the success of goat production. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between body size and body weight of Lakor goats. A total of 60 male Lakor goats aged 1-2 years were randomly selected as research samples to be observed and measured. The variables observed were body weight, body length, chest circumference, shoulder height, and chest depth. The relationship between body weight and body size of goats uses correlation analysis and simple linear regression. The research results of body length, chest circumference, shoulder height, and chest depth have a correlation with body weight of 0.97 (very strong), 0.76 (strong), 0.88 (very strong), and 0.22 (low ). It can be concluded that body length can be used to estimate the body weight of Lakor goats.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between egg weight and fertility, hatching loss, hatchability, and fixed weight of Super Javanese chickens (Joper) in the context of developing the TEFA (teaching factory) Breeding and Hatchery at the Politeknik Negeri Jember. This research used 40 layer hens and 5 rooster Bangkok chickens reared in colonies with a ratio of 8:1. Treatment consisted of grouping egg weights, namely P1 (<55 g) and P2 (>55 g). Observations were made three times during the hatching period. The variables observed were fertilization, hatchability, and hatching weight. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively and analytically. The results showed that egg weight was closely correlated with hatching weight (R = 0.98) and had a regression value of Y = -0.625 + 0.686X. The hatching weight of eggs weighing <55 g and eggs weighing >55 g had a significant difference (P<0.05) with eggs weighing >55 g having a greater hatching weight. Egg weight had no significant effect (P>0.05) on hatchability or the percentage of hatched or unhatched eggs. The conclusion that can be drawn is that egg weight has a real influence and is closely correlated with hatching weight (DOC weight).

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjutuan untuk mengkaji produktivitas dan mengukur kualitas daging ayam broiler pada tipe kandang tertutup (closed house). Penelitian dilalaksanakan di kandang closed house Universitas Khairun yang berada di Dusun Bangko Desa Bobaneigo Madihutu merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Jailolo Selatan dengan kapasitas 5000 ekor. Metode yang digunakan untuk analisis Bobot Badan (BB) dengan menimbang 16 sampel ayam secara acak, dan untuk analisis mortilitas dengan menghitung semua total ayam mati dari Day Old Chicken (DOC) sampai akhir periode. Analisis kimia daging dengan menyayat bagian dada tanpa kulit seberat 100gr dalam bentuk kering kemudian dianalisis kadar air, abu, lemak dan protein di Laboratorium LPPM Universitas Gadjah Mada. Hasil analisis menunjukkan Produktivitas dan kualitas daging ayam broiler di kandang tertutup (closed hose) yang dipelihara selama 6 minggu menunjukkan hasil mortalitas 13% dan BB akhir yaitu 1680,04 + 108,63gr, sedangkan kualitas kimia daging ayam yang dilihat dari kadar air, abu, lemak dan protein memiliki nilai berturut-turut 80,65 + 0,5%; 1,45 + 0,71%; 2,12 + 0,6; dan 21,97% + 0,72%. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengethui pengaruh pemberian pakan yang disuplementasi berbagai konsentrat hijau (lamtoro, gamal dan Indigofera) terhadap kandungan serat kasar feses sapi perah. Sapi perah Fries Holland (FH), sebanyak 12 ekor digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 3 perlakuan yaitu: pemberian pakan jerami padi fermentasi + lamtoro 30 % (P1), pemberian pakan jerami padi fermentasi + gamal 30 % (P2), pemberian pakan jerami padi fermentasi + indigofera 30 % (P3). Parameter yang diamati yaitu persentase serat kasar pada feses sapi berupa ADF (Acid Detergent Fiber), NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber), selulosa, hemiselulosa dan lignin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase ADF berbeda nyata (P<0.05) antar perlakuan, perlakuan P2 menghasilkan ADF terendah (62.12%). Persentase selulosa berbeda nyata (P<0.05) antar perlakuan, P3 menghasilkan selulosa terendah (24.61%) dan P1 tertinggi (28.13%). Persentase NDF, hemiselulosa dan liginin tidak menghasilkan perbedaan dengan nilai masing-masing 75.90-76.82%, 11.92-13.2% dan17.55-19.59%. Kesimpulan ini adalah suplementasi Indigofera pada jerami fermentasi sebagai pakan mampu mereduksi kandungan selulosa dan meningkatkan ADF pada feses sapi perah jika dibandingkan suplementasi lamtoro dan gamal.

Abstract

Omega-3 fatty acids are critical for the growth and regeneration of brain cells, although fish consumption is still very low in this regard. Furthermore, there are indications that the products originating from the sea are becoming contaminated, so there is an urgent need to add omega-3 fatty acids to the food that the average citizen eats. An effort that can be made is to produce eggs from quail, which are high in essential fatty acids, particularly low-cholesterol omega-3 fatty acids. The method used in this research was adding natural suplements containing omega-3 to drinking water. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that quail eggs have been treated with the addition of natural supplements produce quail eggs that contain omega-3, 6 and 9, which are good for health. The intended outcome is a product that could prevent stunting in Indonesia. Keywords: Quail eggs, Omega-3, Natural suplement, Stunting
