This study offers a Christian perspective to minimize divorce by highlighting the importance of the maturity qualification of faith in Christian marriage. Through a literature study focusing on description, this article analyzes the relationship between the maturity of faith and Christian marriage and the protective factors of marriage against divorce. The findings show that the maturity of faith plays an essential role in building a strong marriage relationship. The implication of this paper is the importance of developing faith maturity in nurturing Christian marriage relationships as a preventive measure against divorce.

Abstract

This study discusses prayer from a Christian perspective, focusing on how and why Christians need to pray based on biblical teachings. The research method used is a literature study. Each piece of literature is analyzed with a focus on the topic of prayer in the Bible, as well as the writings of church history figures regarding the importance and nature of prayer practice. The study's results indicate that prayer in Christianity is not a tool to manipulate God or force Him to do something for His people. Prayer should not be naturalistic and artificial (instrumental) but must be sincere and based on the Bible. This study concludes that prayer in Christianity should be understood as sincere communication with God, strengthening both personal and collective relationships with Him.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perceptions of the youth of Namaasi Meselesek Congregation regarding having a partner of the same faith. The main issue investigated is the beliefs and views of church youth about the importance of having a partner of the same faith in a pluralistic society. The subjects of the study are the youth of the Protestant Christian Church in Indonesia (GPIBK) Namaasi Meselesek Congregation. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a survey approach. The entire population of church youth was used as the research sample, with data collected through a Likert scale-based questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis with the help of SPSS. The study's findings indicate: first, respondents have a strong belief that a partner must share the same faith, rejecting various reasons such as happiness, love, age pressure, economic conditions, and pregnancy situations to choose a partner of a different faith. Second, there is awareness of the difficulty in finding a partner of the same faith in a predominantly non-Christian society. Third, despite holding firmly to the principle of having a partner of the same faith, respondents reject a partner of the same faith if they have bad behavior. This reflects their commitment to Christian principles and awareness of the social challenges present. This study provides both theoretical and practical insights for church communities and studies on the influence of religion in choosing a life partner.

Abstract

This research examines the interest of adolescents from the Musafir Paisubololi congregation in the Theology Study Program, focusing on six indicators: "enjoyment of the Theology Study Program", "motivation to enter the Theology Program", "encouragement from others", "interest in the Theology Program", "willingness to learn about religion and engage in service", and "belief in the excellence of the Theology Program". The subjects of the study were 38 adolescents aged 15-22 years. The research method was quantitative, utilizing a survey approach with data collection conducted through a Likert scale questionnaire. The findings indicate an average response of "agree" across all six indicators, with "enjoyment of the Theology Study Program" and "willingness to learn about religion and engage in service" scoring the highest. While support from parents and church leaders was significant, it needs improvement. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is significant potential for developing the interest of adolescents in the field of theology through increased socialization and information about career prospects and the advantages of the Theology Study Program to enhance their interest.

Abstract

This study focuses on the Kenduri tradition in Serang Village, at the foothills of Mount Slamet, Purbalingga, Indonesia, as an effort to strengthen interfaith community solidarity. The research addresses the issue of intolerance and religion-based conflicts that contradict Pancasila's values. The study aims to analyze how the Kenduri tradition contributes to the implementation of Pancasila values in community life. The research employs a qualitative method with a realist ethnographic approach. Data were collected through direct observations of the Kenduri tradition and virtual interviews with residents. Secondary data were sourced from relevant literature. The analysis connects field findings with theories of interreligious engagement (Izak Lattu), social solidarity (Emile Durkheim), and religiosity (John Titaley). The findings reveal that the Kenduri tradition reflects Pancasila values, including divinity through interfaith collective prayers, humanity through equality and empathy, unity through interfaith cooperation, democracy through deliberation, and justice through equitable roles and benefits. This tradition strengthens mechanical solidarity through shared occupations and organic solidarity through the division of labour. In conclusion, the Kenduri tradition effectively enhances interfaith community solidarity in the foothills of Mount Slamet, supporting Pancasila's goal of fostering harmony. The study recommends preserving local traditions as a means to build solidarity within multicultural communities.

Abstract

This study focuses on digital literacy as an approach to critically analyzing media content, with particular attention to information that promotes the values of religious moderation. The primary issue addressed is how digital literacy managed by the Pastoral Development Unit (UPP) of the Archdiocese of Semarang, through the social media account @komsos_kas, contributes to fostering religious moderation. The study aims to identify strategies for disseminating positive values through social media. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach. Data were obtained through content analysis of the Instagram account @komsos_kas, which has over 17,000 followers, as well as additional content from YouTube and the official website of the Archdiocese. The data analysis technique involves thematic analysis of content related to religious moderation. The findings reveal that social media serves as a strategic platform for conveying the values of religious moderation to a broader audience, particularly millennials. The content uploaded includes messages of interfaith tolerance, reflections on solidarity, and rejection of radicalism. Although social media poses potential adverse impacts, the @komsos_kas account successfully leverages digital platforms to promote inclusive and positive narratives. In conclusion, the digital literacy initiatives implemented by the Pastoral Development Unit of the Archdiocese of Semarang play a crucial role in encouraging interfaith dialogue, fostering social harmony, and advancing religious moderation.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of teaching methods in Christian Religious Education within the digital era, marked by technological advancements. The research focuses on balancing the preservation of Christian faith traditions with the adoption of future technologies. A qualitative methodology with a thematic approach is employed to critically analyze the challenges and opportunities of integrating technology into religious education. Technologies such as online learning and artificial intelligence offer significant potential to enrich Christian religious education, yet they also present ethical and theological challenges. This article identifies innovative strategies that harmonize traditional pedagogical approaches with technological innovations without compromising spiritual depth and theological values. The findings reveal that the application of technology in Christian Religious Education must consider a balance between practical aspects and the essence of faith, ensuring the relevance of learning for the digital generation while maintaining the integrity of Christian teachings. These findings contribute to developing a holistic and transformative educational model in the modern era.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of a landslide disaster on the spiritual life of the Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT) Victory Noelmina congregation, which consists of members from Noelmina Village and its surrounding areas. The research focuses on the effects of the disaster on the congregation's spirituality, including the intensity of worship, involvement in church ministry, and spiritual resilience in facing trauma and loss. This study employs a qualitative method with a single case study approach. The research subjects are three families from the GMIT Victory Noelmina congregation directly affected by the disaster, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted thematically through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the landslide disaster increased the congregation's spirituality. Worship attendance rose from 60% to 91%, and participation in church ministries such as prayer meetings and catechetical worship increased. Spiritual resilience became a key factor in trauma recovery, where the congregation interpreted the disaster as an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with God and others. In conclusion, the disaster brought negative impacts and catalyzed spiritual growth and community solidarity, relevant to Christian theology in addressing life's challenges.
