Abstract

Di dalam kitab PL terdapat nubuatan akan datang Mesias. Secara keseluruhan terkandung 300 nubuatan yang berkenaan dengan Mesias. Semuanya itu terpenuhi didalam Yesus Kristus, dan memenuhi kredibilitasnya sebagai Mesias (McDowell, 2002:232). Nubuat-nubuat Mesianis itu menjelaskan tentang silsilah, kelahiran, kehidupan, kematian dan kebangkitan. Bahkan ada juga nabi yang menubuatkan tempat atau kota dimana Mesias dilahirkan.

Abstract

Abstract In premarital counseling, there are practices to prepare prospective married couples for marriage. And usually this counseling practice is in the form of classes organized by the church according to the beliefs of the prospective bride and groom. The practice of premarital counseling is coaching with the intention of developing emotional maturity or other preparation, including personal ones. This research seeks to ascertain the importance of premarital counseling before entering into a holy marriage which will involve the church and be witnessed by many congregations. Through this research it will also be found that pre-marital counseling can foster a couple's relationship according to the Scriptures, and prepare them for the realm of marriage, then help grow emotionally mature, helping each couple to understand their role in marriage. Through a literature study with a biblical approach, this research draws a conclusion that marriage will go well and be solid for both bride and groom because it begins with pre-marital counseling where the church requires its congregation to go through that phase. This research seeks to find the best effort in dealing with marriage problems caused by a lack of counseling or guidance from related institutions, which is why divorces continue to increase. In this premarital counseling service, it can be given to prospective married couples with the aim that they really understand and understand the meaning of marriage that is desired by God in the Christian Family. So that their decision really becomes a married couple who are willing before God.

Abstract

The large amount of research that examines leadership has made it possible that the lack of quality in a leader has recently stopped using Bible principles as a strong weapon to minimize the values and direction of the times which are now rapidly changing, especially among God's servants in dealing with Christian leadership issues. Listen to many reviews of leadership research which tend to focus on leadership methods (decision models) which are also assessed for the management needs of a company, church or other Christian institution, and so on. Others also discuss the characteristics of a leader, even trying to relate it to the life of Jesus' service as a teacher or leader who also had various backgrounds for foster children (read: His students). Researchers place the leadership pattern of Jesus, who was so strong and authoritative, that his leadership behavior has become an exemplary example for all time until now, even though he had to face increasingly rapidly changing times so that the character's model no longer played a role because it was being swallowed up by rapidly changing times. There are still other discussions about leadership which are answers to leadership issues, in this case touching on the calling of God's servants as leaders in the current era. The main problem lies in leaders who are absorbed in the development of modernism, thus shifting or even eliminating the values of Christ as the center of ideal and strong Christian leadership. The introduction of rationalistic understanding as the beginning of the development of leaders' modernity in leading, rationalist values and mentality enter into leading behavior so that it becomes more humanistic because of a leader's liberalist decisions. That is why researchers emphasize the importance of highlighting the causes of a leader being influenced by rationalism which is the cause of the arrival of modernity or the birth of postmodernity in leadership. So the author wants to find out where the shift is, or at what point a change occurs in the context of leadership. The influence of postmodernism for researchers does not change much of its significance, considering the movements and idealism of Christian leaders in this rapidly changing era. On the contrary, Christian leaders use postmodern influence as a connecting bridge in service programs, and do not shift the value of their 'godliness'. The method used by the author is purely literary and followed by historical references to strengthen the relationship between the birth or emergence of postmodernity from the forces of the rationalist, existentialist and modern eras (contemporary). In relation to Christian leadership, what the author explores is the connection to leadership behavior and the focus on integrity. Highlighting leadership behavior, the author finds ways of thinking, and taking responsibility, and so on in taking and finding the right solution to the problem. In leadership integrity, the author traces his disciplined life (leadership mentality), and his routine spirituality which the author assesses has been inherent in him since receiving a call (read: divine calling) as a leader, either in his church or in the institution he leads.

Abstract

AbstractOne of the questions that is often debated is about the existence of God. In Indonesian culture, a person who was born must have been indoctrinated with the teachings of a particular religion which also includes belief in their respective religion's version of God. Questions about the existence of God can lead someone to negative accusations. Some people will answer that God is in the human heart, so his existence is not to be questioned but must be believed. This kind of argument has many weaknesses. The researcher used a data collection method through qualitative research, while in the data processing method and drawing conclusions, the author used an inductive method, namely a reasoning process that starts from specific circumstances to general circumstances. In proving the existence of God logically, there are at least four arguments, namely the ontological argument which is based on human reason, the cosmological argument which is based on natural phenomena, the teleological argument which is based on goals, and the moral argument which is based on morality. It can be known that everything that is enormous about which we cannot think any bigger is God, so God must exist. Anselm's argument was very influential in the history of thought regarding evidence for the existence of God. He presents evidence that is logical in nature because it starts from the assumption that there is something so great that there is nothing greater and that existence is part of that greatness, so it will automatically exist. Usually, Christian theologians only arrive at ontological arguments to prove the existence of God but rarely carry out reconstructions of it. In this article, the proof of God's existence is explained not only from an ontological aspect, but also a reconstruction of the argument.Keywords: ontology, Anselm; God Existence; logical proof; ontology reconstruction AbstrakSalah satu pertanyaan yang sering diperdebatkan adalah tentang eksistensi Tuhan. Dalam budaya di Indonesia, seseorang yang lahir pasti sudah didoktrin dengan ajaran agama tertentu yang didalamnya terkandung juga kepercayaan kepada Tuhan versi agamanya masing-masing. Pertanyaan atas keberadaan Tuhan dapat membawa seseorang kepada tuduhan yang negatif. Beberapa orang akan menjawab bahwa Tuhan ada dalam hati manusia, sehingga keberadaannya bukan untuk dipertanyakan tetapi harus diyakini. Argumen seperti ini memiliki banyak sekali kelemahan. Peneliti menggunakan metode pengumpulan data melalui penelitian kualitatif, sedangkan dalam metode pengolahan data dan penarikan kesimpulan, penulis menggunakan metode induktif, yaitu proses penalaran yang bermula dari keadaan khusus menuju keadaan umum. Dalam pembuktian tentang keberadaan Tuhan secara logis, setidaknya ada empat argumen, yaitu argumen ontologis yang berbasis kepada akal manusia, argumen kosmologis yang berbasis kepada fenomena alam, argumen teleologis yang berbasis kepada tujuan, serta argumen moral yang berbasis kepada moralitas. Dapat diketahui bahwa segala sesuatu yang maha besar yang terhadapnya kita tidak bisa pikirkan lebih besar lagi itu adalah Tuhan, maka Tuhan itu pasti ada. Argumen Anselmus ini sangat berpengaruh dalam sejarah pemikiran mengenai bukti adanya Tuhan. Dia menyajikan suatu bukti yang sifatnya logis karena berangkat dengan pengandaian bahwa ada sesuatu yang maha besar yang tidak ada yang lebih besar lagi dan keberadaan itu adalah bagian dari kebesaran itu maka otomatis dia tentunya akan ada. Biasanya, para teolog Kristen hanya sampai pada argumen ontologis untuk membuktikan keberadaan Tuhan namun jarang yang melakukan rekonstruksi terhadapnya. Dalam tulisan ini, pembuktian tentang keberadaan Tuhan dijelaskan bukan hanya dari aspek ontologis, tetapi juga rekonstruksi terhadap argumen tersebut.Kata-kata kunci: ontologis; Anselmus; eksistensi Tuhan; pembuktian logis; rekonstruksi ontologis

Abstract

This article presents some of the messianic thoughts that fall within the range of the Inter-Testament especially on the apocryphal books. The author begins with some important terms about the "messiah" that are often used in the Israelite tradition, even in this modern era, of course with a new hermeneutical version of the modern rabbinic version. The discussion is based on a search for sources about the messiah in the Apocryphal books, related to the Messiah contained in additional stories that are also in the additional canon (read: deuterocanonical, and equivalent). It also includes the "Messiah" which describes a strong character contained in the "hero" who is brave and has the spirit to defend his nationalism. And to this day especially after the Temple was torn down, rabbinic speculates about the Messiah, even rebuilding a new qualification (read: worldview) connected with the prophet's sayings throughout the Tanakh. The methodology used by the author is to collect some literature that explains the messiahship in the apocryphal books, along with the meanings implied in the thoughts of the authors of the book. According to Subagyo, qualitative methods in religious contexts, especially those related to texts or scriptures, of course prioritize assessment in the form of comparisons to the object under study. Of course, this refers to interpretation, especially the dynamic assumptions about messiahship in some selected Apocryphal booksArtikel ini menghadirkankan beberapa pemikiran mesianik yang berada di dalam kisaran Antar Testament khususnya pada kitab-kitab apokrifa.  Penulis mengawalinya dengan beberapa istilah penting tentang “mesias” yang sering digunakan dalam tradisi Israel, bahkan di era modern ini, tentunya dengan hermeneutis yang baru versi para rabinik modern.  Pembahasannya berdasarkan penelusuran sumber tentang mesias di kitab-kitab Apokrif, terkait dengan Mesias yang tertuang pada cerita-cerita tambahan yang juga di kanon tambahan (baca: deuterokanonika, dan setaranya).  Di dalamnya juga telah hadir “Mesias” yang menggambarkan sebuah karakter kuat yang terdapat di dalam diri sang “pahlawan” yang berani dan semangat untuk mempertahankan nasionalismenya.  Dan hingga sekarang ini khususnya setelah Bait Suci diruntuhkan, para rabinik berspekulasi tentang sosok Mesias, bahkan membangun kembali kualifikasi baru (baca: worldview) yang terhubung dengan ucapan-ucapan nabi di seluruh kitab Tanakh. Metodologi yang digunakan oleh penulis yakni mengumpulkan beberapa literatur yang menjelaskan tentang kemesiasan dalam kitab-kitab apokrifa, berikut dengan pemaknaan yang tersirat dalam pemikiran penulis kitab tersebut.  Menurut Subagyo metode kualitatif dalam konteks keagamaan, khususnya terkait dengan teks atau kekitaban, tentunya mengedapankan penilaian berupa perbandingan terhadap obyek yang diteliti.  Tentunya disini mengacu kepada penafsiran, khususnya asumsi-asumsi yang dinamis mengenai kemesiasan di beberapa kitab Apokrifa terpilih

Abstract

This journal examines the influence of positivist philosophy in the context of the development of modern science with a focus on epistemological perspectives and theological implications. The philosophy of positivism introduced by Auguste Comte in the 19th century had a significant impact on our understanding of the nature of knowledge and the way science developed. In the epistemological view, positivism emphasizes the importance of observation and empirical experience as the sole basis for legitimate knowledge. This concept has inspired dominant scientific approaches in many fields of science, including physics, chemistry, biology, and social sciences. This epistemological analysis will explain how positivism is changing the traditional scientific paradigm that relies on metaphysical speculation and abstract theories. While from the theological side, it reveals the influence of positivism on religious understanding, morality and meaning in life. This research uses methods of historical text analysis, literature review, and philosophical approaches to explain the impact of positivist philosophy in the epistemology of science and its implications on theological understanding. The results of this study will provide a better insight into how the philosophy of positivism has shaped and influenced the evolution of modern science as well as how theological views have adapted to this epistemological paradigm. The journal aims to contribute a deeper understanding of the relationship between philosophy, science, and religion in the context of the development of modern society. The theological implications of positivism and its epistemological views will provide a foundation for further reflection on the role of religion in modern science and its impact on our moral and ethical values.AbstrakJurnal ini mengkaji pengaruh filsafat positivisme dalam konteks perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan modern dengan fokus pada perspektif epistemologis dan implikasi teologisnya. Filsafat positivisme yang diperkenalkan oleh Auguste Comte pada abad ke-19 memiliki dampak yang signifikan pada pemahaman kita tentang sifat pengetahuan dan cara ilmu pengetahuan berkembang. Dalam pandangan epistemologis, positivisme menekankan pentingnya observasi dan pengalaman empiris sebagai dasar tunggal untuk pengetahuan yang sah. Konsep ini telah mengilhami pendekatan ilmiah yang dominan dalam berbagai bidang ilmu, termasuk fisika, kimia, biologi, dan ilmu sosial. Analisis epistemologis ini akan menjelaskan bagaimana pandangan positivisme mengubah paradigma ilmiah tradisional yang mengandalkan spekulasi metafisika dan teori-teori abstrak. Sedangkan dari sisi teologisnya mengungkapkan pengaruh positivism terhadap pemahaman agama, moralitas dan makna dalam kehidupan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis teks sejarah, peninjauan literatur, dan pendekatan filosofis untuk menjelaskan dampak filsafat positivisme dalam epistemologi ilmu pengetahuan dan implikasinya pada pemahaman teologis. Hasil penelitian ini akan memberikan wawasan yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana filsafat positivisme telah membentuk dan memengaruhi evolusi ilmu pengetahuan modern serta bagaimana pandangan teologis telah beradaptasi dengan paradigma epistemologis ini. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyumbangkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang hubungan antara filsafat, ilmu pengetahuan, dan agama dalam konteks pengembangan masyarakat modern. Implikasi teologis positivisme dan pandangan epistemologisnya akan memberikan landasan untuk refleksi lebih lanjut tentang peran agama dalam dunia ilmu pengetahuan modern dan dampaknya pada nilai-nilai moral dan etika yang kita anut.

Abstract

This journal examines the historical description of Ulrich Zwingli's thoughts on church reform, especially after Martin Luther. And the results of the research provide new thinking that was left behind towards the reforms at that time. Though doctrinal thought began to move away from the papal hierarchy, but there are still things that were maintained by the reformers, and until now in the modern era it seems to be running (held), namely the practice of infant baptism, and the concept of the relationship between church and state. It's just that the results of this research are not more there, because the focus is solely on searching. There are many other sources that review Zwingli's actions in his involvement in removing other groups of believers (read: Anabaptists) from the church decisions that he fought for after the reformation. Because the concrete evidence has not shown the accuracy of the event, the author only focuses on his thoughts, specifically confronting his thoughts with the previous proclaimer of reform, namely Martin Luther. In this study, the background of the character, Zwingli's movement in Switzerland in an effort to reform the church will also be described successively as an extension of the previous important figures. In another section, Zwingli's thoughts which are the reasons for the reform of the church will be presented, Zwingli is slightly different from his predecessors in post-reform theology from Luther's. This journal uses a descriptive-historical qualitative approach, it is said that because the author examines it by tracing the sources contained in the literature regarding the characters studied, and linking them to the church today. Of course there will be limitations in the study, that's why the author hopes that there will be further research on this church figure, especially in other studiesJurnal ini mengkaji uraian historis terhadap pemikiran Ulrich Zwingli mengenai reformasi gereja khususnya setelah Martin Luther.  Banyak sumber yang mengulas tentang sepak terjang Zwingli dalam keterlibatannya menyingkirkan kelompok orang percaya lainnya (baca: Anabaptis) dari ketetapan gereja yang diperjuangkannya pasca reformasi.  Oleh sebab bukti-bukti konkrit belum menunjukkan keakuratan terhadap pristiwa tersebut, penulis hanya menyoroti pemikiran-pemikirannya, secara khusus mengkonfrontasikan pemikirannya dengan proklamator reformasi sebelumnya, yakni Martin Luther.  Dalam kajian ini juga akan dipaparkan secara berturut-turut tentang latar belakang tokoh, pergerakan Zwingli di Swiss dalam upaya pembaharuan gereja sebagai perluasan dari tokoh-tokoh penting sebelumnya.  Di bagian lain pemikiran-pemikiran Zwingli yang menjadi alasan reformasi gereja akan dipaparkan, Zwingli sedikit berbeda dengan pendahulunya dalam berteologi asca reformasi.  Jurnal ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskritif – historis, dikatakan demikian karena penulis mengkaji dengan menelusuri sumber-sumber yang terdapat di literartur mengenai tokoh yang diteliti, dan mengkaitkan kepada gereja di masa kini.  Tentunya aka nada keterbatasan dalam pengkajiannya, itu sebabnya penulis berharap aka nada penelitian lanjut terhadap tokoh gereja ini, khususnya dalam kajian yang lain.

Abstract

Humans are thinking creatures, and every human being is created with a ratio or reason. With the existence of ratios humans gain knowledge and knowledge that leads to new introductions and the desire to explore. In the pastoral ministry carried out by Epaphras, there was a problem, where the church in Colossae seemed to be infiltrated by false teachings that threatened the spiritual life of the church (Col 2:8). This threat is seen in his letter in Colossians 2:8 which states "let no one take you captive with his empty and false philosophies according to the hereditary teachings and the spirits of the world, but not according to Christ". In this research, the author uses a qualitative approach. The Apostle Paul knew that sooner or later the believers in Colossae would be targeted by religious and philosophical peddlers. So that this writing Paul wants the people in Colossae to remain in the true truth that comes from Jesus Christ. Studying philosophy is an invitation to think critically, encouraged to think in response to various things until finding a way out or making a conclusion that can be accounted for. Based on what the Word of God says, a philosopher should reflect on Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."It is hoped that through this writing, it can provide understanding and guidance to readers on the importance of adhering to the truth originating from Jesus Christ, while critically responding to the threat of false teachings through a philosophical understanding aligned with spiritual values.AbstrakManusia merupakan makhluk yang berpikir, dan setiap manusia diciptakan dengan rasio atau akal. Dengan adanya rasio manusia mendapatkan pengetahuan dan pengetahuan yang membawa kepada pengenalan-pengenalan baru dan keinginan untuk melakukan eksplorasi. Dalam pelayanan penggembalaan yang dilakukan oleh Epafras ini mengalami permasalahan, dimana para jemaat di Kolose tampaknya disusupi oleh ajaran palsu yang mengancam kehidupan kerohanian jemaat (Kol. 2:8). Ancaman ini tampak dalam suratannya di Kolose 2:8 yang menyatakan “jangan ada yang menawan kamu dengan filsafatnya yang kosong dan palsu menurut ajaran turun-temurun dan roh-roh dunia, tetapi tidak menurut Kristus”. Pada penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif teologi murni. Rasul Paulus tahu bahwa cepat atau lambat orang percaya di Kolose akan menjadi sasaran penjajah yang religius dan folofis. Melalui tulisannya, Paulus ingin orang di Kolose tetap dalam kebenaran yang sejati yang berasal dari Yesus Kristus. Mempelajari filsafat merupakan ajakan untuk berpikir kritis, dipacu untuk berpikir dalam menanggapi berbagai hal sampai menemukan jalan keluarnya atau membuat suatu simpulan yang dapat dipertanggung jawabkan. Berlandas dari apa yang dikatakan oleh Firman Tuhan, maka seorang yang berfilsafat harusnya berdasar kepada Amsal 1:7 “Takut akan TUHAN adalah permulaan pengetahuan, tetapi orang bodoh menghina hikmat dan didikan.” Diharapkan melalui tulisan ini dapat memberikan pemahaman dan panduan kepada pembaca tentang pentingnya tetap berpegang pada kebenaran yang berasal dari Yesus Kristus, sambil merespons kritis terhadap ancaman ajaran palsu melalui pemahaman filsafat yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai rohaniah.

Abstract

This study discusses prayer from a Christian perspective, focusing on how and why Christians need to pray based on biblical teachings. The research method used is a literature study. Each piece of literature is analyzed with a focus on the topic of prayer in the Bible, as well as the writings of church history figures regarding the importance and nature of prayer practice. The study's results indicate that prayer in Christianity is not a tool to manipulate God or force Him to do something for His people. Prayer should not be naturalistic and artificial (instrumental) but must be sincere and based on the Bible. This study concludes that prayer in Christianity should be understood as sincere communication with God, strengthening both personal and collective relationships with Him.

Abstract

The burden of life that is not light, especially faced by congregations in big cities, causes them to need a balance that can reduce the burden. Instead of looking for God who is the source of peace and happiness. They look for other things that can provide pleasure. The church can provide solutions to people who are heavily burdened, the church needs to find an interesting worship procedure for the congregation without reducing the substance of the worship. The church provides biblical teachings that can change the character of the congregation and grow the faith of the congregation, not just focusing on increasing the number of congregations. The purpose of this study is to determine the meaning of true worship based on the Letter of James 1:26-27 which is applied to the congregation today, especially in big cities. This research method uses qualitative research through literature studies by exegesis of texts, book expositions, and interpretations from theologians supported by the opinions of pastors, religious teachers, congregational councils, and servants of God with open questions. The results of this study are the common thread of understanding worship between worship in the Old Testament, the New Testament, and theologians' translations, so that there is no conflict, but complement each other to become a comprehensive understanding of worship. The conclusion of this study is that pure worship in the Letter of James 1:26-27 is an act of love (threskeia) which is one of the four components of worship in the Bible. The four components in question are service in carrying out worship in the church (leitourgeo), presenting the body (lathreia) as a living, carrying out acts of love (threskeia) such as visiting orphans, and worshiping God in Spirit and truth (proskuneo). While the target or purpose of worship is piety (eusebeia) which is ready to welcome the coming of the Lord. The practice of worship in churches today, especially in big cities, has not focused on acts of love as called for in the Letter of James.
