Abstract

Perubahan sosial, budaya, dan teknologi di era kontemporer menghadirkan tantangan serius bagi pendidikan agama Kristen, baik dalam aspek teologis maupun pedagogis. Digitalisasi, pluralitas nilai, dan fragmentasi identitas memengaruhi cara peserta didik memahami iman, makna hidup, dan orientasi moral, sementara praktik pendidikan agama Kristen konvensional masih cenderung berorientasi kognitif, bersifat satu arah, dan kurang kontekstual. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi Pendidikan Agama Kristen melalui pendekatan teologis dan pedagogis yang integratif agar tetap relevan dan transformatif di tengah dinamika zaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan pendekatan kajian teoretis terhadap literatur teologi dan Pendidikan Agama Kristen, khususnya dalam konteks Indonesia. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa rekonstruksi pendidikan agama Kristen perlu berlandaskan paradigma inkarnasi, teologi kontekstual, dan spiritualitas transformatif, serta diwujudkan melalui pergeseran pedagogis dari orientasi kognitif menuju formasi iman yang dialogis dan kontekstual. Rekonstruksi ini menegaskan peran pendidik pendidikan agama Kristen sebagai formator iman dan fasilitator refleksi iman peserta didik. Artikel ini berkontribusi secara teoretis dalam memperkaya diskursus Pendidikan Agama Kristen di Indonesia dan memberikan dasar konseptual bagi pengembangan praktik PAK yang relevan dan berkelanjutan di era kontemporer.

Abstract

In 2024, the World Risk Report ranked the Philippines among the nations which is most vulnerable to natural disasters. The country regularly endures typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and climate-related disruptions. At the same time, it remains deeply religious, with about ninety percent of Filipinos identifying as Christian. In this context, spirituality shapes how communities interpret trauma and sustain hope. This article examines the Filipino spirituality of the cross and suffering as a framework for resilience. Devotion to the suffering Christ, expressed in Holy Week rituals and popular processions, forms both personal piety and communal solidarity across Catholic and Protestant communities. While many studies emphasize the positive effects of religiosity on disaster survivors, few critically assess how certain doctrines and practices may retraumatize victims, especially when disasters are interpreted as divine punishment. The article demonstrates that in the different stages of disaster: devastation, disillusionment, reform, and wisdom, a pastoral and liturgical responses specifically in the stages of reform and wisdom, are necessary intervening factors of changing the worldviews and beliefs about disasters from the perspectives of the disaster victims.

Abstract

Plurality is an undeniable empirical reality, especially in the Indonesian context. This reality poses a challenge for preachers. The questions that must be answered are: how should a preacher convey biblical truth in the context of this pluralistic society? How should preachers proclaim the Gospel? What is the perspective of Reformed theology on this matter? This research uses a literature review method, in which I will explore sources related to the themes discussed above. The books and articles I utilize are largely part of Reformed theology, in order to gain sufficient insight into Reformed theology's perspective on this issue. The conclusions of this research clearly illustrate that in delivering a biblical sermon, a preacher must pay close attention to the method of exploring the Bible correctly and responsibly. In accordance with Reformed theology's belief, "theology from above" must be a priority. The Bible must be the primary source as the sole standard of truth, not heartwarming stories, or the like. Preachers must also adhere firmly to the core doctrines of Reformed theology. The most important thing is that in the sermon, Christ must be the main message conveyed, surpassing other things.
