Abstract

Exchange rates are a crucial indicator of a nation's economic stability. Fluctuations in exchange rates can influence investment decisions, international trade, and monetary policies. The prediction of foreign exchange rates against the Indonesian Rupiah holds significant importance in financial analysis and decision-making. Exchange rates are a crucial indicator of a nation's economic stability, influencing investment decisions, international trade, and monetary policies. However, accurately predicting foreign exchange rates remains a challenging problem due to the highly. This research aims to enhance prediction accuracy by proposing a CNN Bi-LSTM model with the addition of an Attention Mechanism (CNN Bi-LSTM AM). Historical exchange rate data were normalized and divided into training, testing, and validation sets. The CNN model extracts local features, BiLSTM captures bidirectional temporal patterns, and the Attention Mechanism highlights critical features to improve data processing efficiency. The evaluation was conducted using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) metrics. The results show that CNN Bi-LSTM AM outperformed BiLSTM and CNN Bi-LSTM, achieving MAPE values of 0.7795%, 0.3877%, 0.4062%, 0.7646%, 0.4267%, and RMSE values of 0.1953, 0.2199, 0.2069, 0.1758, 0.3250 for USD, Pounds, EURO, Yen, and Franc, respectively. The addition of the Attention Mechanism significantly contributed to improved accuracy, distinguishing this model from previous research. This study supports the relevance of innovation in hybrid architectures and Attention Mechanisms for financial time series predictions

Abstract

5G networks are the latest generation of mobile communications technology that offer significant improvements in speed, capacity, and connectivity. However, along with the benefits it brings, it also brings a new set of challenges in the form of security breaches. Many 5G devices have been lost on-site. These devices are ABIA, AMIA, ASIB. Each of these devices has a serial number as identification data for each device. The rise of theft cases is due to the existence of collectors who are able to buy expensive stolen 5G devices for resale. So, the research will make the introduction of 5G device serial numbers using the Machine Learning (ML) with K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) algorithm. This pattern recognition is success to be done then become a guidance to recognizing stolen 5G devices. Next, this device cannot be used (deactivated) and be sold by system. This can break the demand and supply chain for stolen 5G devices. Based on the testing, there are 6 mismatches of 20 data testing or 70% data match

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures and the adoption of green mining practices on the value of mining companies in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research method, we analyze panel data from 20 mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) over the period from 2020 to 2022. The study estimates the relationships between ESG, green mining, and firm value through panel data regression, applying a fixed effects approach. The results show that neither ESG disclosures nor green mining significantly affects firm value, as measured by Tobin's Q. In contrast, firm size negatively impacts value, while ROA has a positive influence. These findings suggest that investors tend to prioritize traditional financial indicators over sustainability factors when evaluating mining companies. The theoretical implications of this study highlight that, although ESG and green mining are conceptually important, their current levels of implementation are insufficient to meaningfully affect market valuations. Practically, mining companies need to improve the transparency and effectiveness of their ESG reporting and strengthen their sustainability strategies to create additional value for investors and other stakeholders

Abstract

This research, titled "The Influence of Social Influence, Habit, and Price Value on Use Behavior in Streaming Applications Among Gen Z Using the UTAUT2 Model (Case Study of Netflix, Viu, Disney)," employs a quantitative approach based on positivist philosophy, aiming to test hypotheses through statistical analysis. The study investigates the relationships between variables such as social influence, habit, and price value, and their impact on user behavior in streaming apps, specifically focusing on platforms like Netflix, Viu, and Disney. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model is used to analyze factors influencing technology adoption by incorporating constructs such as habit, price value, and social influence. Using purposive sampling, data was collected from 100 students, specifically those from the Management Program at the School of Economics and Business involved in the ornamental plant and fruit seedling business. The dependent variable, use behavior, measures app engagement, while independent variables include social influence, habit, and price value. Behavioral intention, the mediating variable, reflects commitment influenced by attitudes and social norms. Data was collected using closed-ended questionnaires with Likert scale items, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied for analysis. The findings revealed that social influence had a positive but insubstantial impact on behavioral intention, while habit and price value had substantial positive effects. Behavioral intention positively influenced use behavior, while habit and price value also positively affected use behavior. Social influence and habit had no substantial impact on use behavior via behavioral intention, and price value had an insubstantial effect

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing students' interest in pursuing a career as a public accountant, focusing on financial rewards, labor market considerations, social values, professional training, and professional recognition. A quantitative approach is utilized, with a sample of 91 accounting students from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection is conducted via online questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale. The analysis includes descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, and classical assumption tests to ensure unbiased results. Hypothesis testing employs multiple regression analysis, with t-tests examining individual variable effects, F-tests assessing overall model significance, and R² determining explanatory power. Findings reveal that financial rewards, social values, professional training, and professional recognition significantly influence career interest in public accounting, while labor market considerations do not. The study's limitations include a restricted sample, which may limit generalizability, and the exclusion of other potential influencing factors. Future research should consider additional variables, such as gender, workplace environment, and family background, while also expanding the sample to encompass students from multiple universities for broader applicability.
