LINIMASA merupakan jurnal yang diiniasi oleh Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Pasundan. Terbit dua kali dalam setahun, pada bulan Januari dan bulan Juli. Gagasan jurnal LINIMASA hadir atas fenomena perkembangan ilmu komunikasi yang begitu pesat dan dinamis mengikuti perkembangan jaman. Dilihat dari definisinya, LINIMASA menggambarkan garis waktu atau suatu peristiwa penting dalam subjek tertentu yang ditampilkan dalam urutan kronologis. Jurnal LINIMASA mengakomodir berbagai hasil pemikiran/penelitian komunikasi mulai dari masyarakat bermedia konvensional hingga masyarakat bermedia kontemporer seperti saat ini.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Sexting is the activity of sending sexually charged messages, whether in the form of photos, videos, or even short messages, carried out via digital media. Sexting activities are usually carried out by male and female couples who are in a romantic relationship. In this context, sexting is done to maintain the quality of the relationship and fulfill the partner's sexual needs. However, there is an imbalance of power between women and men involved in sexting, where women are vulnerable to finding themselves in a disadvantageous position compared to men. Through the perspective of standpoint theory, the experience of women as a marginalized group in sexting activities is an important experience to explore. In standpoint theory, those in marginalized positions are considered to have strong objectivity, so the search for knowledge according to this theory should start from these marginalized groups. Through in-depth interviews with informants, this research found that women are in an inferior position when sexting with men. The informants' experiences showed that male partners were forced to engage in sexting, threatened with sharing sexting content, threatened with the end of the relationship, and felt that sexting was more beneficial for men than women. This research concludes that through the lens of standpoint theory, women do feel injustice in sexting activities with male partners, but still do it in order to maintain their relationship through coercion and avoid bad consequences such as the distribution of sexts.   Keywords : Sexting; Standpoint Theory; Women; Domination

Abstract

Online gender-based violence cases has recently increased statistically in Indonesia. The movie Like & Share by Gina S. Noer shows how online gender-based violence happens to women. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods and uses Stuart Hall's reception theory as an approach. Reception analysis itself views at the activity of viewers and readers as recipients of a message produced by the sender of the message. The purpose of this research is to describe the audiences’ reception of messages which can later be classified into three reader positions based on Stuart Hall's reception theory. This research also uses a mixed method tools to gain data by doing an indepth interview and a focus group discussion, considering to hold the privacy of some informants as they are telling a sensitive experience regarding online gender-based violence. The results of this research shows that the audiences’ which consists of four informants generates various meanings as they each come from a different background, experience, morals, and values. Out of nine scenes analysis unit studied, the audiences’ reception of online gender-based violence in the movie Like & Share is dominated by dominant-hegemonic. But there are also some informants that are in the oppositional position and negotiated position.

Abstract

Advertising is part of the communication strategy to market the object or service presented by the company which is useful as a medium of reminder for consumers of the products advertised by the advertiser. Along with the growth of PONDAN, many emerging new premix flour so PONDAN still need to increase brand awareness. The author is interested to see the influence of advertising webseries PONDAN "taste of Raisa" on brand Awareness audience. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of PONDAN web series ads titled "Cita Rasa Raisa" on brand awareness among viewers. The method used is a simple regression analysis with a quantitative approach. The results showed that the dimension of attention has the greatest influence is the proportion of respondents who strongly agree with 67.9%. Hypothesis testing shows that PONDAN online advertising has a positive effect on people's brand awareness, with an R value of 0.711 showing a positive correlation. This is in line with the principle of communication that the sender's message is conveyed effectively to the communicator in the form of brand awareness. Thus, it can be concluded that the advertisement of the transvestite webseries "taste of Raisa" affects the audience's brand awareness.

Abstract

Social media is capable of spreading information quickly due to the presence of the internet. The TikTok application, in addition to being used for video editing, can also be used to present educational and motivational content through short video clips. This research aims to determine the extent of the influence of TikTok content @Yourmood and self-confidence on followers. The theory used in this study is the Stimulus-Organism-Response theory. This research adopts a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling, specifically accidental sampling, with a sample size of 100 respondents. Data collection is conducted through a questionnaire. The research is analyzed using descriptive statistics, linearity tests, normality tests, heteroskedasticity tests, simple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, and correlation tests using SPSS. The results of the research indicate an influence of TikTok content, Independent Woman Motivation @Yourmood, on the improvement of self-confidence by 56.4%, which is of moderate significance. This means that the content of TikTok @Yourmood does not account for the total influence on the improvement of self-confidence by any other factors.

Abstract

Perilaku konsumtif merupakan suatu kecenderungan perilaku yang dialami oleh manusia yang lebih mementingkan keinginan daripada suatu kebutuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana fenomena perilaku konsumtif yang terjadi pada remaja perempuan di Kota Surabaya sebagai pengguna konten TikTok #outfitideas. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi dan dalam pengumpulan datanya menggunakan hasil observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara dengan enam informan remaja perempuan berusia 13 tahun sampai 18 tahun di Kota Surabaya sebagai pengguna konten TikTok #outfitideas. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konten TikTok #outfitideas yang dikonsumsi membuat remaja menjadi berperilaku konsumtif lebih mengutamakan keinginan (nilai tanda) daripada kebutuhan (nilai guna) dan fashion diidentikkan dengan wanita menampilkan berbagai model feminin yang mengajak kaum wanita untuk membiasakan diri dengan menyenangkan dirinya sendiri yang bertujuan untuk memenuhi kepuasan serta dapat menjadi perhatian bagi dirinya sehingga perilaku konsumtif terjadi pada remaja perempuan terutama pada kota besar seperti Surabaya.

Abstract

The existence of social media, especially Instagram, facilitates forms of interaction between individuals. The convenience of the various features available on Instagram also makes it easier for users to interact with each other and form networks, which ultimately forms a virtual community. One of the virtual communities on Instagram social media is the community of chronic disease fighters and survivors, Inspira.sien. Inspira.sien is a fairly large community in Indonesia with the first patient assistance services, which also houses several communities of survivors of certain specific chronic diseases. In interacting using Instagram, survivors have the same goals and similarities in an Inspira.sien community. This research aims to examine how the social media Instagram is used by survivors of chronic illnesses to interact and provide support to each other in a community called Inspira.sien, as well as what impact this community has on the survivors. This research uses the theory of Computer Mediated Communication (CMC), Electronic Propinquity Theory, and Social Media which uses qualitative methods with a netnographic approach. Data was obtained by conducting in-depth interviews and observations, where the informants taken were Inspira.sien followers who were also survivors of chronic illnesses. The results of this research show that the form of interaction that occurs by survivors in the Inspira.sien community on Instagram social media using existing features such as feeds, reels, and Instagram stories is able to provide communal attachment and closeness between its members and make them feel related to each other. Abstract

Advances in Internet technology have a positive impact on users in expanding social networks by using social networking or called social media. The negative effects of social media are online fraud, theft, identity abuse, pornography, cyberbullying and others. The purpose of this study is to know how cyberbullying is done in the comments column of the TikTok account @ofp24 at the postings in September - October 2023. In the study, CMC (computer mediated communication) theory is used by using a qualitative approach for miles&huberman's analysis of content. The collection of data in this research was by observation and documentation.The results of this research were the discovery of three types of cyberbullying that occurred in the comments column of the TikTok account @ofp24 in September-October 2023, namely flaming, harassment and denigration. Abstract

This study discusses the news framing analysis of the hijacking of the Susi Air Pilot in online media outlets CNN Indonesia and Tribunnews from February 2023 to July 31, 2023. The paradigm employed in this research is the constructivist paradigm, utilizing Robert N. Entman's framing analysis method with techniques such as define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments, and treatment recommendations. The findings indicate divergent framings between CNN Indonesia and Tribunnews. CNN Indonesia criticizes the military-related strategies of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and expresses concerns about the safety of hostages and civilians in Papua, advocating for negotiation as a resolution. In contrast, Tribunnews highlights various issues, viewing the hijacking as a separatist threat and a disruption to domestic and geopolitical political stability. Tribunnews also presents the perspective of the authorities, appearing to align with the government.

Abstract

Abstract: Prophetic communication is a framework for new communication science practices from an Islamic communication perspective that combines general communication science concepts with religious philosophy by emphasizing two aspects of meaning, namely the dissemination of information that contains truth and good meaning, and the delivery of information that is carried out appropriately and politely. Social media is one of the technological advances that is used to disseminate information, one of which is the spread of fake news about the conflict between Palestine and Israel which violates the media code of ethics and Islamic values ​​which are interpreted through prophetic communication. The researchers will study in more depth using qualitative research methods, data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with Palestinian residents. The results state that Instagram and Facebook are the social media that contain the most fake news, one of which is accusing Hamas of being a terrorist because it carried out attacks on the Zionists, thus triggering various perspectives from the public without them knowing how cruel the Zionists were in attacking Palestinians for seven years. The large number of fake news about Hamas means that we as Muslims have to filter and validate news sources according to reality. Because many media distort facts which are considered very confusing to the public. Thus, the presence of social media as a new media from a prophetic communication perspective has pros and cons, including being able to build solidarity among Muslims in fighting colonialism and there is still a lot of fake news packaged in such a way that it is able to make the audience believe the news.

Abstract

Love is an inherent aspect of human life. Its presence is important and can be attained through a romantic relationship. To create a healthy, quality relationship, harmonious communication is necessary with your partner. This is where the concept of love languages comes in, as a way to express love both verbally and non-verbally for your loved ones. Love languages then became a very interesting topic of discussion among the public, and were applied in everyday life through various communication media, one of which was music videos, especially the music video Cincin by Hindia. This is a qualitative research that employs Roland Barthes semiotic analysis approach, and the data was obtained through direct observation. The purpose of this research was to comprehend how the signs of Love Languages are depicted in the music video Ring by Hindia. In this music video, the concept of love languages is represented through the lyrics and each scene. Starting from words of affirmation, physical touch, quality time, receiving gifts, and serving, which represent the concept of love languages, are shown in every scene of this music video.
