LINIMASA merupakan jurnal yang diiniasi oleh Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Pasundan. Terbit dua kali dalam setahun, pada bulan Januari dan bulan Juli. Gagasan jurnal LINIMASA hadir atas fenomena perkembangan ilmu komunikasi yang begitu pesat dan dinamis mengikuti perkembangan jaman. Dilihat dari definisinya, LINIMASA menggambarkan garis waktu atau suatu peristiwa penting dalam subjek tertentu yang ditampilkan dalam urutan kronologis. Jurnal LINIMASA mengakomodir berbagai hasil pemikiran/penelitian komunikasi mulai dari masyarakat bermedia konvensional hingga masyarakat bermedia kontemporer seperti saat ini.

Abstract

Campaigns via social media Instagram are one promising method for achieving this goal. Through this platform, the messages conveyed can be more easily accessed by the wider community, including those who are connected digitally and especially the younger generation who predominantly use social media. This research aims to determine the campaign representation of female legislative candidates posted by the Instagram account @ataliapr @melly_goeslow @ledia_Hanifa. The theory used in this research is Roland Barthes semiontics, the research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research show that the three Instagram accounts represent different campaigns on Instagram social media, the @ataliapr account represents support from her husband and former Governor of West Java to increase popularity. During the campaign, the @melly_goeslow account showed that physical activities such as Zumba exercise were an integral part of life which in turn supported his vision and mission as a member of the legislature. Meanwhile, the @ledia_Hanifa account in the campaign on social media Instagram describes himself as a leader who is committed to the values of social justice

Abstract

Children with hearing impairments experience difficulties in recognizing sounds around them so they usually utter meaningless words. Thus, of course, when writing a sentence they also experience errors in the form of writing meaningless words and sentences. One of the obstacles in providing learning services to children with hearing impairments is the lack of appropriate learning that is applied to them. The lack of innovative media is an obstacle for teachers in SLB. This research uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological type of research consisting of field observations and in-depth interviews. The informants interviewed by the research team were students, teachers and parents at SLB Sukapura, Bandung City. Using the symbolic interaction theory approach from Herbert Mead, the results of this research found that the language used as a communication medium was BISINDO sign language, because BISINDO is the natural language of children with hearing impairments and they feel they understand better if they use BISINDO. In fact, it is not the child who follows the teacher's language but the teacher who follows the child's language. Not a few other special schools also use SIBI sign language as a learning communication medium because SIBI is considered the standard Indonesian sign language whose language structure is in accordance with Indonesian. But in reality, SIBI was created by the government, which is a hearing person, while sign language is a language belonging to people with hearing impairments, which of course had to be made by hearing impaired people.

Abstract

The healthcare services have become a means for the community to support their healthcare needs. In Indonesia, there are several healthcare service units that can be directly accessed by the public, ranging from clinics, community health centers, and hospitals. Generally, these healthcare services are divided into a hierarchy or level of healthcare services. Halodoc is a telemedicine-based communication media used for health purposes by consulting remotely with doctors. This allows for interpersonal communication processes between doctors and patients without face-to-face or direct meetings. This consultation is more known as a mediated interpersonal communication process, where communication between individuals uses media as a means of communication. This qualitative research uses the phenomenology approach of Alfred Schutz, which focuses on exploring the subjective experiences of humans to understand and explore how humans give meaning to the world around them. There are ten informants divided into three categories, with the primary informants being ten students in the Greater Bandung area who use the Halodoc application. The findings show that: 1) the students' motives for continuing to use the Halodoc application after the pandemic are because Halodoc is still a practical, effective, efficient, accessible healthcare platform that can meet their other healthcare needs; 2) the actions taken by students are based on their motives, such as choosing Halodoc features like chatting with doctors, the pharmacy, and cashless payment; and 3) the students' construction of the meaning of "illness" is that they interpret it as a time to

Abstract

Marketing communication comprises six primary communication methods: advertising, sales promotion, events and experiences, public relations and publicity, direct marketing, and personal selling. The expected effect of the marketing communication strategy through the bjb Cycling DigiCash V-Ride campaign is to serve as a stimulus that influences behavioral outcomes, specifically the behavior of cycling community members as potential customers (clients) of Bank BJB. This involves their decision to become Bank BJB clients who will regularly use the BJB DigiCash application for daily transactions, particularly for members of the cycling community "Kamis Gow." This study employs a quantitative approach with verificative analysis and correlational studies. The theory applied in this research is the Theory of Planned Behavior, which posits that an individual's actual behavior is influenced by their intention, determined by consumer attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Based on this perspective, the researcher aims to investigate and analyze the impact of Bank BJB's marketing communication strategy through the "bjb Cycling DigiCash V-Ride" campaign (X) on the behavior of members of the Roadbike cycling community "Kamis Gow" (Y).

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the impact of rebranding on the brand image of "IndiHome by Telkomsel." In an era of increasingly fierce business competition, companies are required to continuously adapt and update their image to remain relevant in the eyes of customers. The approach used in this study is quantitative with an explanatory survey method. Several theories underpinning this research include cognitive psychology theory, stimulus-organism-response theory, and organizational image management theory developed by Massey (2003). Through systematic random sampling techniques, a sample of 98 was obtained, comprising IndiHome by Telkomsel customers who are also followers of the Instagram account @indihomecare. Data in this study were collected through questionnaires, interviews, literature studies, and internet media. This study emphasizes the importance of strategic communication with stakeholders to build the desired image. The research methods used include the collection of primary and secondary data, as well as observational analysis of customer interactions on social media. The results of the study show that the rebranding carried out by IndiHome, including changes in name, logo, and slogan, has a significant impact on customer perception. This study also provides recommendations for further research to explore other aspects such as corporate social responsibility and advertising strategies used. Thus, this study is expected to provide deeper insights into the dynamics of rebranding in the context of internet services in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstrak This article aims to explain how BBC News Indonesia describes cases of hoax reporting related to hatred carried out and the expulsion of Rohingya refugees in the Aceh region of Indonesia, using a critical paradigm discourse analysis approach (Critical Discourse Analysis) modeled by van Dijk. The Rohingya ethnic group itself is an ethnic minority who are Muslim and of course the massacre of this ethnic group has sparked criticism from various parts of the world, including Indonesia, which is predominantly Muslim. The news about the Rohingya case has become confusing and there is a lot of hoax reporting in various media in Indonesia, one of which is media anonymously, issues and news like this can influence readers to believe the news. According to Can Dijk (2004), there are two main discursive strategies in reporting on an individual/group in the media, and these strategies are related to "THEM". The us vs them labeling is realized through several discourse strategies, including: the strategy of submitting authoritative arguments, the strategy of using passive sentences and the number game strategy. Several discourse strategies are used by the media - in this case BBC News Indonesia - to give positive labels (positive self-presentation) or (negative other-presentation) to the individuals/groups being reported on.

Abstract

Artikel ini menjelajahi kekayaan budaya Jawa Barat yang meliputi beragam tradisi, seni, dan kearifan lokal yang memperkaya identitas daerah tersebut. Dari keindahan seni pertunjukan hingga kelezatan kuliner tradisional, Jawa Barat menawarkan pandangan yang mendalam tentang keberagaman budaya Indonesia. Melalui kajian ini, kita dapat memahami betapa pentingnya melestarikan dan menghargai warisan budaya yang kaya ini bagi masyarakat Jawa Barat dan Indonesia secara keseluruhan. Selain itu, artikel ini juga menyoroti upaya pelestarian budaya yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah dan masyarakat setempat, serta potensi kontribusi budaya Jawa Barat dalam memperkaya panorama budaya Indonesia secara global. Dengan demikian, artikel ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pandangan yang komprehensif tentang keberagaman budaya Jawa Barat dan menginspirasi langkah-langkah lanjutan dalam pelestarian dan pengembangan warisan budaya di seluruh negeri.

Abstract

Earlier Disney films tended to portray women as weak or cunning. Disney has also been criticized for its depiction of mental health in the animation. Raya and The Last Dragon is the latest film from Walt Disney Animation Studios with an action adventure genre released on March 3, 2021. Raya and The Last Dragon is the first film that focuses on Southeast Asian culture. This study aims to describe audience reception related to female masculinity in the film Raya and the Last Dragon. This research refers to the interpretive paradigm. This study places the reception method proposed by Stuart Hall as a guide for analysis. The results of this study indicate that audience reception tends to lead to a dominant hegemonic position. The masculinity of women shown in the film Raya and The Last Dragon is shown with courage, strength, skill in playing weapons, good at fighting and hairstyles or appearances that are considered masculine (tomboy), leader and optimistic.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to analyze the reception of female viewers towards gaslighting behavior in the web series "Yang Hilang Dalam Cinta" on Disney+ Hotstar. This study employs Stuart Hall's reception theory, which categorizes audiences into three groups in interpreting media messages: Dominant-Hegemonic Code, Negotiated Code, and Oppositional Code. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method by describing the research results using Stuart Hall's reception theory. In determining the informants, this research uses purposive sampling technique with the criteria of being female, currently or previously in a romantic relationship, and having watched the web series "Yang Hilang Dalam Cinta" on Disney+ Hotstar. From in-depth interviews with eight informants, six informants are in the dominant position, and two informants are in the negotiation position. Informants in the dominant position agree with the message of the series, concurring that gaslighting is a wrong and harmful behavior because it can make women powerless in a romantic relationship and lead to a range of negative impacts. Meanwhile, informants in the negotiation position also acknowledge that gaslighting is a harmful behavior, but they consider the educational aspect of the series. According to them, the presence of this series can provide examples of gaslighting behavior and its negative impacts so that women out there can have better awareness. Abstract

This study aims to determine how online gender-based violence (OBGV) occurs in the context of misogyny in the @gilbertkurnia1 account on social media X (Twitter). Using a descriptive qualitative research method using a virtual ethnography approach, this research seeks to present a description of the forms of communication included in the category of online gender-based violence (GBV) as a phenomenon of violence that is the object of this study. The data in this study were obtained using two methods, namely by observing the @gilbertkurnia1 Twitter account within the period of October 31 - December 06 2024 and using literature review that is relevant with the research topic to support the discussion in this study. The results of this study show that the content of tweets, retweets/reposts, replies, and quote tweets uploaded by the @gilbertkurnia1 account on X (Twitter) is content with topics of misogyny, gender violence, the use of sexist terms, hatred towards feminists, and the relationship of religion values toward gender context. The interactions carried out by @gilbertkurnia1 account through the tweets, replies, retweets or reposts, and quote tweet features on social media X (Twitter) can be analyzed as online gender-based violence (KBGO) in the context of misogyny, sexism, and objectification which are closely related to patriarchal culture. In his posts, @gilbertkurnia1 carries narratives that demean women such as the words “baby incubator”, “baby printer”, and “child printing vending machine”, as well as narratives that reflect hatred towards feminists such as the phrases “Feminist = bitch/slut”, “Feminist = loser”, and “Feminist = a single hole for everyone.”
