Abstract

The rapid development of social media has transformed how institutions disseminate information and conduct promotional activities to the public. Instagram has become a widely used platform for delivering information in a fast, visual, and interactive manner, enabling institutions to reach broader audiences while strengthening their institutional image in the digital environment. In this context, this study examines the practice of information dissemination and promotion through the official Instagram account @kebunraya_id. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation of Instagram content posted on @kebunraya_id from September to December 2025, unstructured interviews Digital Strategist and Social Media Admin of Kebun Raya, and documentation of posts related to informational and promotional activities. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Instagram functions as an effective medium for disseminating information and promoting Kebun Raya as an educational and recreational tourism destination. Information dissemination is carried out through educational and greetings content, while promotional activities are presented through recreation and tourism content. The communication strategy integrates educational values, appealing visual elements, and interactive engagement with audiences, although several challenges remain, including time management, inter-division coordination, and the content approval process.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of a special event as a tool of government strategic communication in building an inclusive institutional image and supporting digital inclusion, through the 2025 ICT Competition for people with disabilities organized by BAKTI Komdigi. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to understand how communication strategies are applied in a real context. Data were collected through interviews with key informants using purposive sampling. The results show that the special event was designed with clear communication goals to improve access, expand opportunities, and increase the confidence of people with disabilities in using digital technology. The meaning of inclusivity is built through participatory experiences, disability representation, and equal participation among stakeholders. As a result, an inclusive image is formed through real and continuous communication practices. The findings also show a clear division of stakeholder roles and the use of communication media to support public engagement, although there are still challenges in coordination and feedback management. This study fills a research gap, as most previous studies focus on the corporate sector, while this study highlights a government context. Theoretically, this study enriches strategic communication by showing that an inclusive image is shaped by the alignment of messages, actions, and stakeholder experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Purnomo's therapeutic communication practices in interactions with people with mental disorders (ODGJ) in the YouTube account "Purnomo Belajar Baik" (Purnomo Belajar Baik). This study used a qualitative approach with content analysis of five videos depicting interactions between Purnomo and people with mental disorders. The analysis was conducted based on the stages of therapeutic communication, communication characteristics, and communication techniques used in each interaction. The results show that Purnomo's interactions reflect communication characteristics such as sincerity, empathy, and warmth, as well as the use of communication techniques such as active listening, questioning, clarification, and providing emotional support. Therapeutic communication practices in this study are understood as a form of recovery-oriented communication, namely communication that aims to build a sense of security, increase self-confidence, and support the psychological recovery process of people with mental disorders. This distinguishes therapeutic communication from ordinary interpersonal communication, as therapeutic communication has the specific goal of helping individuals achieve a more stable and adaptive emotional state. The research findings indicate that the principles of therapeutic communication can be applied in non-clinical contexts through a humanistic approach that emphasizes acceptance, emotional support, and positive interpersonal relationships between the communicator and the person with mental disorders.

Abstract

The “Medusa Trauma” phenomenon on TikTok represents a new form of female suffering presented as an audio-visual trend. The term is used metaphorically to describe psychological trauma caused by betrayal or abuse by someone close, with the symbol of Medusa from Greek mythology originally a beautiful woman who was cursed into a monster after experiencing sexual violence representing defensive strength born from emotional wounds. This study applies Sara Mills’ model of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to examine the subject and object positions within the Medusa Trauma narrative and how gendered power relations are constructed in digital culture. The analysis is conducted on two levels: micro (textual, audio, and visual representations in TikTok content) and macro (ideological and structural context of patriarchy in digital culture). Previous studies have rarely addressed the representation of women in viral digital trends and the potential commodification of trauma, leaving a research gap that this study aims to fill. The findings reveal that this trend serves not only as a space for emotional expression but also reproduces patriarchal discourse that positions women as passive symbols of suffering. The contribution of this research lies in providing a critical understanding of gender construction in digital culture and its implications for the representation of women’s trauma.
