Abstract

Handwritting into book is the most ancient form of analog communication and a means of remote communication that was first present in human life. However, just like any other communication product, writing on books (journaling) slowly begins to be eroded by technology dermination. The culture of analog writing shifts to typing. The decline in interest analog writing is seen from the results of research and regulations in some countries that no longer require the younger generation to have certain skills of writing. In fact, analog writing activities are scientifically proven to be mentally healthy. The situation in Indonesia is slightly different from the presence of the government that requires handwritten classes for elementary children, and the growing writing market in young family communities. Journaling in the millenial mother community is a process to get a more conscious lifestyle. This research aims to understand the revitalization process of an analog communication to remain favored by people who have become accustomed to consuming communication information technology. Through the Case Study it was found that journaling as analog communication is able to maintain its existence because of the revitalization of ideas through interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaboration in the scope of communication science.

Abstract

Problems regarding the widespread spread of hoax news often occur through social media. The massive circulation of hoaxes that occurs is due to the low level of digital literacy in the community in filtering information that can potentially disturb the public and disrupt public order. Government public bodies are considered to have the responsibility to eradicate social problems related to the circulation of hoax news that occurs in the community. This prompted the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government of Communication, Information and Statistics to create the Jakarta Lawan Hoaks (Jalahoaks) channel to carry out advocacy activities. This study aims to analyze the advocacy communication process for truth clarification on hoax news on Instagram @Jalahoaks. This research uses a qualitative approach with exploratory research and case study methods. The theory used in this research is advocacy communication. The results of this study indicate that the advocacy communication process carried out on Instagram @Jalahoaks can be successful and run effectively, based on analysis, strategy, mobilization, action, evaluation, and sustainability. The use and maximization of Instagram social media as a means to clarify the facts of hoax news can support and facilitate the advocacy communication process carried out by Jalahoaks.

Abstract

The results showed that individual PASPAMPRES personnel have thoughts and self-assessment of quality and are superior, have a favorable opportunity for promotion compared to other unit personnel. This study aims to determine how the formation of self-concept in the personnel of the PASPAMPRES unit based on the situation and facts where PASPAMPRES is an elite unit containing selected and qualified soldiers who have certain skills and privileges to be able to carry out Presidential VVIP security duties. A strict personnel admission selection where not all TNI soldiers can pass and have the desired qualifications make PASPAMPRES personnel called superior and elected personnel. The reason this research was conducted was to find out how this situation had its own impact on the self-concept of the selected PASPAMPRES personnel. The theory used is the Symbolic Interactionism theory by George Herbert Mead, Self-Concept and Group Thought Theory. This research methodology uses a constructivism paradigm with a qualitative approach and data collection techniques using interviews. The focus of this research focuses on how the mind, self, and society as well as the climate of the PASPAMPRES unit can influence the formation of personnel self-concept.

Abstract

Therapeutic communication has an important role to help the recovery process of People With Schizophrenia (ODS) who have symptoms of hallucinations and delusions that can lead to a tendency to have difficulty communicating to withdraw from the social environment. Therapeutic communication is a form of communication aimed at the therapeutic process and patient healing. Phenomenology is used as a method and therapeutic communication as a theory in this study. The data collection method was carried out through online interviews using WhatsApp voice calls to 6 ODS family caregiver informants. The results of this study indicate that the experience of therapeutic communication carried out by family caregivers in the form of interpersonal communication can help the ODS awareness process regarding schizophrenia as indicated by ODS' willingness to take medication regularly, as well as communication in the form of showing acceptance, listening carefully, and emotional regulation when communicating with ODS can provide appropriate treatment when ODS has relapse symptoms so that it can help the process of developing ODS.

Abstract

Mata Najwa, a talk show hosted by Najwa Shihab, on September 29, 2020 uploaded unusual video which questioning the existence of Terawan Agus Putranto, The Minister of Health Republic Indonesia at that time, whom never appears in the media to make statement about Government’s treatment of pandemic Covid-19. Mata Najwa tried to attract public’s attention by uploading a video that using empty chair interview technique, pretends Terawan was shows up in the middle of the show. Until the video with hastag #MataNajwaMenantiTerawan became trending topic in Twitter and created new humor discourses from netizens. The humor discourses in this hashtag is interested to be researched, that makes the objective of this research is to discover humor discourses contained in the video #MataNajwaMenantiTerawan, as well as user’s tweets that created new humor discourses in Twitter. Concept framework of this research is concepts about satire, parody, parikena, dan sarcasm. Research method: constructivism paradigm with qualitative type of research. Data collection methods: observing video Mata Najwa duration 4 minutes 22 seconds, timeline on Twitter with hashtag #MataNajwaMenantiTerawan, interview with Executive Producer of Mata Najwa from Narasi TV and documentation from various sources.

Abstract

Planning and communication strategies are one of the keys in increasing adaptability in an institution or organization, including Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of this study is to determine the planning and communication strategies in increasing the adaptability of human resources and competitiveness of the Madinatul Qur'an Islamic boarding school in Depok. Through qualitative descriptive method, the results of planning and communication strategies are obtained according to the stages.  The planning stage is to formulate the scientific, capacity and character building.  The strategy formulation stage produces an aggressive strategy, involving HR target as partners with various stimuly, refresher strategy through social service practices, growth strategy through the development of intellectual, religious, humanist and adaptive character; defensive strategies through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary training. Furthermore, the stages of personal competence, through improving communication, managerial and business skills, control stages that focus on the uniqueness of tahfidz, the supervision stage, in the form of optimizing the role of HR and the evaluation stage, in order to encourage the sensitivity of HR to technological developments. Lastly is the communication strategy stage. The graduates of Ma'had Aly will be facilitated with a bachelor degree In order to fulfill the stakeholders’ demand.

Abstract

Many of social media users still think that social media is a medium that is able to solve every problem of life. The function of social media has now experienced a shift in meaning from just a substitute for direct interaction to the stage of expressing oneself or self-disclosure even though in very diverse ways including being too honest in telling their life problems in cyberspace, the phenomenon of sharing personal privacy to vent excessively on social media is also referred to as hyperhonest. This study aims to analyze self-disclosure or self disclosure on hyperhonest phenomena on social media, seeing so many social media users sharing their privacy stories to cyberspace. The purpose of this study is to analyze the self-disclosure of kite breakers status on the Hyperhonest phenomenon on social media. The results of the study there are three things that encourage a person to express themselves on social media in the hyperhonest phenomenon, namely, first vent social media gives a sense of pleasure, second, the fulfillment of the need to be heard and third, the need to be known. This research uses social media theory, Self Disclosure theory and CPM (Communication Privacy Management) theory. This research is a qualitative research with case study research method.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to be able to explain the influence of the Communication Style "The Equalitarian Style" of the Leader on the performance of the implementers of the Insert Trans TV program. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling or census. The results of the study show that the performance of the Program Implementing Insert Trans TV employees is very good. This employee's performance is due to the ability to use work equipment so that they rarely make mistakes with little time. Employee performance is also generated from the existence of mutual cooperation between employees in overcoming work problems so that work spirit arises to do work effectively and efficiently; The results of the analysis of the influence of the Communication Style variable "The Equalitarian Style" Leaders on the performance of the implementers of the Insert Trans TV program are indicated by the coefficient of determination (rxy) of 0.199 = 19.9%. This shows that 19.9% of the variance in the performance variable of the employees of the Insert Trans TV program are determined by the Communication Style variable "The Equalitarian Style" of the Leader, and the rest (= 80.1%) is determined by other variables that cannot be explained in the study this.

The presence of social media of was globalization with the increasingly sophisticated telecommunication technology as it now brings an impact to the dynamics development of the world of communication that is increasingly easy and quickly accessible by anyone through a new way. With the diversity of communicated media available, it does not prevent people from connecting with each other, even increasing the creativity to be able to use it to become an important need in the side of life. Utilization of social media is then able to bridge the realization of the desire to be achieved such as getting information about something you want to know more. Instagram social media is expanding rapidly, the same as social media lawyer that has been there first. Instagram a lot of popular from various circles, both adults, teenagers, children with background work and education that when using it has a different motivation.

Abstract

The background of this study is that the learning model is not yet fully able to present an inclusive islamic paradigm, and a multicultural perspective for students, these are the limited space for differences of opinion between teachers and students, between each other of the student, so that the learning process is indoctrinative and educational focus is only on the achievement of the ability of ritual and tauhid beliefs with Islamic education teaching material that singular,that is right wrong and good bad. Data collection methods using interviews, observation, documentation studies and triangulation.The results showed inclusive islamic-multicultural islamic-based learning design including syllabus and lesson plans which included: material that contained normative texts and contained concrete cases in the society, the implementation based of the inclusive islamic-multicultural learning model educators are not stuck on one method, educators in attitude and speech are democratic and non-discriminatory, educators have a high level of concern for certain events, educators provide an understanding of the importance of deliberation in solving various problems, and this indicates that the learning process of Islamic Educational using inclusive islamic-multicultural based learning methods is using a multi-directional communication pattern. Beside, students become realize that they live in real situations that full of differences and make the educational paradigm that is not only to think, to do, and to be, but also to become an education paradigm to live together.
